The asteroids and their associated qualities?

I'd start by using somewhere like http://www.serennu.com and seeing what asteroids you have close to your personal planets and angles. Keep your orbs very tight, 2 degrees max. Again, there's too many and if you don't keep it tight you'll just have too much information and you'll run the risk of driving yourself crazy.

The centaurs like chiron do seem to be slightly different and bigger orbs will work with them.

For the centaurs I'd check out Zane Stein at http://www.zanestein.com/page4.htm#page4_ he also has links off some of his pages to other articles.

If you're on facebook there are a couple of groups for asteroids and centaurs. They can be useful.

Understanding the myth behind the story can be a helpful way to pinpoint how it will work in your chart. Wiki has some info and I also use http://www.theoi.com

When you find the ones that start grabbing your attention feel free to make separate threads or bump other related threads with your questions.

Personally I've found the asteroids can be quite a strong influence in events, not making the events as such but the "players" involved. It's like they tell you "who" is going to be there. Bizarre stuff. The centaurs seem to be more useful in looking at the character of yourself, much like the main planets.

Some of the main ones are

Ceres

Vesta

Juno

Pallas

and the love ones like Eros & Psyche,

but I've found that the ones that'll be mst important on a personal level are those that are closely aspected to your personal planets and angles.

So you can actually adjust the orbs on Serennu? I thought so and was looking for the input box or whatever to do that and never could figure it out...*embarrassed*.

The above page lets you adjust the orbs Belligerent Pygmy. But even on the main ephemeris it's easy enough to see which ones are sat next to your planets if you sort them by zodiacal degree I find it really helpful to sort by sign etc I agree that some traits will come through the asteroids...and definitely "themes".

Did you know there was an asteroid called Pygmalion? He fell in love with a statue called Galatea...I was researching it this last week cuz I kept seeing the word Pygmy everywhere I looked lol turned out it was right on my Mercury!

Yeah, that's the direct link I always use and for whatever reason, I can never find the orb thing there.I always look around at the little input boxes, trying to find where you plug in the orbs and just give up and take the chart with a trillion asteroids in it instead lmao.

Okay the orb thing is a drop down box on the left hand side, you can select 1,2,3,4,5. I can't take screen shots or I'd do it. The top box is where you put you're birth data in and the orb menu is 5th
