"Kuiper (IIJ I, 1957) proposes that none less than Ahura Mazda is a development from an earlier dvandva *vouruna-mitra. The basis of Kuiper's proposal is that the equivalent of Avestan mazda "wisdom" is Vedic medhira, described in Rigveda 8.6.10 as the "(revealed) insight into the cosmic order" that Varuna grants his devotees. In Kuiper's view, Ahura Mazda is then a compound divinity in which the propitious characteristics of *mitra negate the unfavorable qualities of *vouruna."

Varuna,specifically, is the Gaurdian of "Rta"(In the Vedic religion, Rta (Sanskrit ऋतं ṛtaṃ "that which is properly joined; order, rule; truth") is the principle of natural order which regulates and coordinates the operation of the universe and everything within it.

Rta and Varuna:

While the concept of Rta as an abstract, universal principle generally remained resistant to the anthropomorphic tendencies of the Vedic period, it became increasingly associated with the actions of individual deities, in particular with those of the god Varuna as the omniscient, all-encompassing sky.[18] Although the Adityas as a group are associated with Rta, being referred to as "the charioteers of Ṛta, dwelling in the home of Rta", it is Varuna in particular who is identified as the "friend of Rta".[19] The connection of Varuna and Rta extended beyond the physical realm and into the sphere of ritual worship, with the sacrificial fire itself being lauded as that which "harnesses the steeds and holds the reins of Rta, becoming Varuna when he strives for Rta".[20] As James (1969) notes, Varuna attained the position of "universal Power par excellence maintaining Rta" and is celebrated as having "separated and established heaven and earth, spreading them out as the upper and lower firmaments, himself enthroned above them as the universal king, ordering the immutable moral law, exercising his rule by the sovereignty of Rta

I honestly thought i wasnt going to get any responses to this since i dont see much on Varuna anywhere. But that's interesting that your ex bf's Varuna is exactly conjunct your DC. This has been my expereince with Varuna but i would really like to know yours and how you relate to it. Especially what your relationship with your ex was like.

Your varuna conjuncts your moon, somehow i can only interpret this as you having unbound spiritual energy. Do you ever get a feeling of being guided through cosmic energy because you follow your spirit in all that your do?
