Yes, I like Pholus, in a weird way. I have him conjunct Chiron. I know him well, due to this. Pholus explodes all over the place with what it touches. If it is Chiron, you will pur out your pain as a faucet which opens at full speed. You don't mean to hurt anyone.Pholus is more childlike than vicious or malignant. He is like expolsive diaheria, for lack of a better metaphor lol How he acts in the chart will be based on what he touches ------------------ Want a peek in to my journal? http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

oh boy yeah i read the mythology behind it and many parallelize him to Chiron... it forms a square to my neptune and if I remember right it conjuncts my jup...... feels like one more "pain button" on the chart? IP: Logged |

Yes, though with Pholus it often looks almost "accidental" and then unleashes a whirlwind, that whirls you into a new direction, or opens up doors that you did not know of before (and probably would have been scared to open). Through the pain big carthartic developments are being set in motion. It`s like Ami said: it explodes all over the place. In my chart Pholus is on 6 Pisces in 3rd house, 3 degrees of my Ceres, and squaring Mars and ASC and sextile Venus exactly.
very often that "explosion of pain" will be set in motion by my mother (with her best intentions) - so the Ceres as maternal symbol makes sense there. Interestingly my Mum`s MC and North Node are conjunct my Pholus. She has the tendency to worry a lot because she sees a lot about much is "wrong" about my everyday life and habits (3rd house is also direct environment). Most of it stems from her own perspective on things, which is very different from my own, but there always is a core of it about which she is right, and that needs changing / modification. And that to me is Pholus, in the end he leads you towards the change that is necessary, even though, you probably would have preferred to not have been thrown into it like this. IP: Logged |

Very interesting, Ceri, especially since Jup is in my 8th/9th cusp opposing my Sat in the 3rd. (My pholus is in tight conjunct to my Jup.)I suddenly want to ask you your opinion about natal Saturn in the 3rd, but I know it's not a proper q for the asteroid forum. I will email you (already sent u an email though so if it feels like I bombardize you with q it's probably true... IP: Logged |

my best friend has Saturn in 3rd house (in Leo, in a Grand trine with Moon and Neptune and sextile Mercury, Venus and Pluto).she always considered herself as lacking in areas of communication and intelligence, which I never saw. But she perceived a certain insufficience, and there were two consequences: 1. she always fell for guys with glasses or smart talkers (smart ***** at times), cause she thought they were intellectual and intelligent (Saturn rules her 7th house). 2. she was working so hard on this area of learning, communicating etc, because she felt the need to compensate for the lack. The consequence was that she developed AMAZING communicative skills, a brilliant writing style, though more on the dry and very structured side, and a keen eye for social issues and behaviour and roleplaying especially in her direct environment. She also has great skills in learning languages and teaching them. Very analytical. IP: Logged |

Just saw your response, Ceri. Thank you very much for telling me about your friend. It's true I feel a bit like that too. In my case, Sat opposite Jup has led me to postgrad studies. Saturn rules my 12th so not sure how this manifests: sympathy for the downtrodden?
