In Greek mythology, Ixion was one of the Lapiths, a king of Thessaly, and a son of Antion or Phlegyas. Pirithous was his son (or stepson, with Zeus being his father). Ixion married Dia, a daughter of Deioneus (or Eioneus) and promised his father-in-law a valuable present. However, he did not pay the bride price, so Deioneus stole some of Ixion’s horses in retaliation. Ixion concealed his resentment and invited his father-in-law to a feast at Larissa. When Deioneus arrived, Ixion pushed him into a bed of burning coals and wood. The neighboring princes were so offended by this act of treachery (and violation of Xenia) that they refused to perform the rituals that would cleanse Ixion of his guilt. Thereafter, Ixion lived as an outlaw and shunned. By killing his father-in-law, Ixion was reckoned the first man guilty of kin-slaying in Greek mythology. That alone would warrant him a terrible punishment.

However, Zeus had pity on Ixion and brought him to Olympus and introduced him at the table of the gods. Instead of being grateful, Ixion grew lustful for Hera, Zeus’s wife. Zeus found out about his intentions (either because Hera told him or because of his own efforts)and investigated the matter. Zeus made a cloud in the shape of Hera, which became known as Nephele, and tricked Ixion into coupling with it. From the union of Ixion and the cloud came the race of Centaurs (hence their being called Ixionidae). However, another myth asserts that the founder of the Centaur race was not Ixion, but a zoophiliac outcast named Centaurus, a son of Apollo and brother of Lapithus.

Ixion was expelled from Olympus and blasted with a thunderbolt. Zeus ordered Hermes to bind Ixion to a wheel that was always spinning. Therefore, Ixion is bound to a burning wheel for all eternity in Tartarus. The story of Ixion is told by Diodorus, Pindar, Virgil in Georgics 4 and Aeneid 6, and by Ovid in Metamorphoses 12.

Themes: there is his first failure to deliver (the gift); in doing so betrayal of the family and expected code of behavior; failure to accept responsibility for the betrayal and then anger/temper/retaliation (murder). Finally equally important there is failure to be grateful for the second chance, to seize the opportunity given, the elevation in possible status—instead stubbornly following his lust/lasciviousness only to be banished once again and this time in a way where he is tightly bound (not free), incapable of moving or roaming. So I would say … Wanton Self-focus, Pigheadnesses, Blindness to second opportunity/and most blatantly refusal to be redeemed/suffering of one’s own making

I will admit though I was ALMOST molested by a family member.
And for a few years it seemed like I was scared for life from it...and hated my family.

but I'm not sure how I feel Ixion...I don't have a criminal mind state. I care very deeply about doing the right thing, and treating others the way I want to be treated. And when someone doesn't treat me the way I want to be treated I can get very p!ssed off. Whether I choose to show it or bottle it up inside.
That is usually when I decide to unleash my inner b!tch. And usually just make my point to the person that it's not fair what they are doing. I can sound harsh when doing so...but it gets my point across.

hmm I almost considered dating a guy who was a felon. He said for stealing. But the wired thing was I tried to background check him and his name didn't even show up on the jail or prison data base. And his name didn't even show up on there. So he either changed his name, or he is a compulsive lair.
Either way...there is something he was not telling me.

I was honest with him and told him I did that, and his name didn't show up.
And then he got all defensive and was like "is that why you wont go out with me!?" and I was like "no...it's called I just got out of a bad relationship and I already told you that"

But yeah, he wasn't a catch at all so I didn't take it any farther.

And my most recent ex use to steal cars. Said he got involved in the wrong crowd. I of course didn't learn that about him til much later. Glad he stopped by the time I met him.

And the ex before him also has pretty unstable life. He is attractive(not that attractive but still), like I was surprised he digged me. But I began to realize he was delusional, and that his morals where kind of effed up. From thinking having nice things where easy, to stealing a beer out of my friend's dad's fridge. We went to the fair we and didn't want to pay 10 bucks to get...so we looked for a way to sneak in...we where in highland park.(an area similar and close to Detroit) And he ran into guy selling damn key chains... a guy who tells people the money went to donations to veterans, but keeps the money himself. And he hands some to my ex...my ex didn't have a problem at all lying to peoples faces saying donate money to me to go to veterans and have a key chain. I just stood there and watched him in disgust...thinking why am I with him?
This guy got kicked out of his house and was staying at mine...I was waiting my folks to kick him out...they never did. I was the one that kicked him out.
I was put in an awkward situation where we moved to fast(though I stayed a virgin the whole time)I didn't know how to get rid of him. We like side by side for a whole month. Unless I went to the bathroom. He ended up telling me that his crackhead biological mom kicked him out cause he kissed his either step or half sister, and that's why he lives with his dad now...either way I was like omg...this guy has no morals...I can't believe I've gotten to know someone like this. I finally got space away from him one day and that's all I needed. I dumped him and kicked him out of my house. (this was two years ago...after I graduated high school)

He recently went to jail for breaking into peoples cars. He also lied to me about having a son when I was with him...his dad told me...but then my ex said she had a miscarriage. And after I dumped him he cheated on his new girlfriend and got the one night stand girl knocked up.

Thought I'd add a perspective this..
Intimately, I tend to attract guys that are fresh out of another relationship. That kind of annoys me, but once I find someone sexually attractive there is no going back. I'm all in. It doesn't happen with many people. Some single and some taken. I usually pick this person out of a crowd before knowing them and will sense a magnetic alluring connection to them in their presence. It has always ended up being mutual.

I love a challenge with lots of illicit 'temptation' feels. Primal vibe is extremely attractive to me, and so having a "need to resist" makes it all the more difficult. This scenario is very tantalizing to me. I don't think too much about consequences of my actions (esp. the ones taken when I'm under some sexual attraction sorcery). This is something I am consciously trying to focus on more and more, or else I forget consequences to risky behavior exist.

For the most part, I stay single. I date around, but enjoy not getting involved in deep intimate relationships. (Also I'm picky) Past relationships just haven't worked out. They've never been mentally deep enough for me, among other normal reasons. I'm not a revengeful person in any regard. Revenge has always given me a horrible feeling.

I'm not a pedophile nor child molester, so +1 for the NOs. I wasn't raped or abused in my childhood. I've noticed not many other people do this, but I like to generally keep up with news about women and children sex trafficking because it appalls me so much I feel it in my stomach. I get these intense gut feelings with news in relation to the collective specifically... so as you can imagine, I don't spend time watching or reading news really. Can't trust them anyways. I [very generally] keep up specifically with sex trafficking news because I want to make sure someone is standing up for the abused/trafficked children who don't know how to stand up for themselves. What can I say I'm a passionate person... I should have been a lawyer and it's something I still consider presently.

I can't say I've ever really been the Ixion person as a default or anything, but I have experienced it many many times in other people. There has been the rare occasion where if I am pushed and pushed and pushed into a corner mentally/emotionally, I end up in a meltdown or shut down, both of which I become physically defensive if pushed even further.

Anyway, I plugged Ixion into my chart and it's in my 1st house within a degree of my Scorpio Ascendant. I'm not the darkest person out there, honestly. I'm actually pretty tame even at my worst, but I know how to give my darker side a healthy outlet. I'm quite familiar with the darker side of life and I've been through a lot of dark stuff.
