I have a square between my Pluto and Spirit (orb: 1°35).To describe it I`d say my spiritual learning happens in "leaps". It is not so much a smooth learning curve, as consisting of several cathartic moments (usually triggered by a strong emotional experience), leading to personal realizations that leave me changed forever.
Like at certain points in times the intensity is raised significantly and even my stubborn Self can`t cling to the old anymore but HAS to transform.
But it is more a "bumpy" feeling.
I`d say the square does not prevent spiritual developement/ learning, but just indicates how it happens, as I said, in my case, it often feels like a rough ride or a tidal wave, before the waters calm again (until the nxt time).
I have to say though that Spirit is also conjunct Isis and Osiris (1°07 and 2°50) - the Osiris-Spirit is actually on the very wide side and IT hink is part of it through the association with Isis- and of course both , Isis and Osiris are square Pluto, too (0°32 and 1°15) - the aspects to Isis seem to be the dominant ones here, as the orbs are very small).
So Spirit-Isis-Pluto (btw in the helio chart I have an exact Spirit-Isis-conjunction).
I see it this way that I have to re-discover the feminine principle, especially in terms of receptiveness, perseverance, faith, commitment and compassion (Isis), that is an innate part of me (Isis conjunct Spirit transdimensionally). It might be even stronger since my Venus is not that far away, conjunct Isis by 2 degrees and squares Pluto by 3 degrees.
Pluto here in that square-aspect seems to become a catalyst, or facilitating this transformation, pushing me into exactly the cathartic experiences I apparently need to re-integrate these qualities.
