There are some things that need to be thought through more thoroughly, inlcuding:

Pluto on the IC is a very deep aspect, but since Pluto is probing by nature and IC the deepest part of your psyche, the sheer intensity and intimacy can sometimes feel overwhelming.

The Saturn-squares can indicate a certain block or holding back on both parts, probably out of a certain fear.
The question is where does that inner block come from?

For this we have to take notice that both your Saturns are in the natal 12th house, so your composite Saturn will be in the 12th house,t oo. Either the blockages may come from subconscious things, or even from a past life.
With Saturn in composite 12th house, maybe a possible romantic relationship has been thwarted or prevented by authority figures or circumstance.
his 12th house ruler conjuncts your Venus, so I am pretty sure at least partly the romantic attraction has already been there in a past life.

Speaking of past lives, he has SWINDLE on the SN, conjunct your Sun.
So a possible cheater scenario may have come from the past, maybe that is where your fear comes from? The conjunction is not unbearably tight of his Swindle to your Sun, so I wouldn`t worry too much.

Another thing that I found interesting is his Sun-Jupiter-conjunction closely squaring your Juno. Of course this is some kind of a soulmate aspect, but issues of equality, balance in a relationship and jealousy / posessiveness might arise.
As you probably know Jupiter was cheating on Juno all the time, so yes, it could point to infidelity, but it is not a must of course.
Juno and Jupiter have been passionately attracted in the beginning and during their honeymoon, which lasted 300 years!
The problems arose when they had to return to the "world" and arrange their living together in the "real world". And it was an ongoing cyclic struggle, in which Juno fought for attention and respect, while Jupiter was philandering.
Now, it does not always have to be women, Jupiter here could also be occupied with a hobby, his work, health, his friends anything and you will have to find a way to share your time.
In a square aspect it could denote some clashes in that regard, a bit of bickering even.
But unlike Lilith, who also fought for equality in a relationship, Juno did not walk out on her husband, she stayed through it all (except for one time when she really has had it and left him for quite some time; then it was him who followed her and brought her back, so the game could start a new); so I think Juno is a sign of struggling for coming to an agreement WITHIN the relationship, the will to really work for it.
And in this instance it really is a soulmate and marriage asteroid, as it relates to that kind of dedication and commitment.

First of all, huge sigh of relief that the Swindle aspect doesn't seem too much of a worry. That was really bothering me for some reason. We do feel as if we've known each other 'forever' or certainly for a lot longer than we have in this lifetime so the possibility that it's a karmic memory seems to bear that out.

Re the Pluto IC aspect I think (now I read about it) that that's also some of what I'm feeling - it's almost as though I feel my life is about to be sewn up by him and moulded in his fashion rather than necessarily the direction I want. Although it feels very romantic right now with him taking the lead in planning our future, I can see that that's potentially one to watch.

With the Saturn block I think although we both have this, he's the one displaying it more at the moment. He flirts. A lot! Not just with me but with other women friends of his and although I can see it's his self defence or coping mechanism of sorts. He starts to feel something intense and then immediately retreats into his comfort zone of being the charmer. He's admitted as much so it's not just me putting 2 and 2 together and making 9. Will have to see how this pans out but he said last night that he wants to distance himself from that side of his personality now he's met me. So interesting that this is then borne out by the Sun/Jupiter sq Juno which indicates jealousy/possessiveness! He's an artist so I do think that even if he manages to kerb his flirtatious tendancies with the opposite sex, I'll always be fighting slightly for attention with his work. We've already talked about marriage and definitely want a future together so that energy is beginning to make itself felt even at this early stage.

The blockage could also be the distance between us at the moment. We live about 120miles apart but he's already talking about moving to live here.
