I always thought of the descendant as something that becomes visible on marriage, but before that it has an influence but a more indistinct kind. So if someone has something conjunct your descendant they will feel something for you (based on what it is) but won't be clear about their feelings.

So Juno conjunct your Descendant might mean they view you as wife-material but won't know what it is about you that makes them think that.
