Hmm... If I'm not mistaken, Eris was the goddess of discord. Conjunct Mars, I would say passion, aggression and discord would go hand in hand.I feel ya on the Eris trine Neptune, I've got that too. Although my Eris is in 4th house (within 4-5 degrees from 5th house (Placidus)), and my Neptune's in 1st house. Perceived discord? Could be discord stemming from illusions of grandeur or self in my case? Do you have visions and daydreams of career-related ambitions which fall into discord?
I also have Venus/Pluto/Mars in 10th house Libra opposition Eris. Definitely discord in my relationships (and in a few jobs), plus I'm constantly daydreaming of being in a dream job lol... which has caused me some chaos at times on the job -.-; That may also stem from the Venus/Pluto/Mars sextile Neptune as well.
Actually, now that I think of it, the passionate/aggressive/energetic nature of Mars would mesh better with discord in your case I'd think, compared to my opposition which I'd say puts those things in conflict.
