We share the *exact* precisely the same genetic marker in chromosome number 6.

The incidence of that genetic marker is 1 in 110,000 for Caucasian women of Western European Anglo-Franco descent.

The incidence of that in an East Asian man is higher than 1 in 150,000.

The maximum probability of the meeting of two such people anywhere on Earth is

1/(110,000 * 150,000)

I come from the direct opposite side of planet Earth. Neither of us met anywhere close to our birth hometown. We look completely different.

We got together and have made four babies, of which three have been affected.

The mathemical probabilities = 1/2 * 1/2 = 25% chance of being affected. (50% probability of being a carrier but not affected)

The probability of being affected three times in a row = 1/4 * 1/4 * 1/4 = 1.5625%.

Our young son is our fourth child and is not affected nor a carrier.

That's us. After those ridiculous odds, we take that multiplied by 1.5625% to arrive at our situation.
