while it is obvious that my parents are a bit of a success story relationship wise, I was wondering what you think of the underlying astrology and about their "soulmate status".
I think in the very least they must be karmic soulmates for bringing up a kid with Down syndrome, nursing two dying fathers together, taking in my aunt in the first years of their marriage - almost like a stepchild-, at times having had another fosterchild with Down syndrome (though only for some time, until his grandmother was being healthy enough to care for him again), and also having been involved in founding and helping build/ structure two caritative organizations for assisting people with Down syndrome and their relatives and assisting their integration into society (locally of course).
At the same time to accomplish that they decided to decline the offers made multiple times to my father to be promoted, which would have raised them into a higher social class (they would have had to deal with diplomats and politicians though. lol), but they decided to decline because they felt that this wasn`t "them".

If I think about it, without so much as mentioning it or even ahving awareness of it, they brought a lot of positve changes to our family, neighbourhood and even village.

Of course I am biased because I am simply proud of them.

But anyway what is your verdict judging from the charts?

There are some really nice aspects there. Their synastry has Psyche/Prose conjunct NN/MC, NN conjunct Jupiter, a lovely Venus/Saturn/AC conjunction, etc. They also have composite Karma conjunct the composite AC (a pairing meant to be) - albeit a bit widely at 3 degrees.

What does Ishtar symbolize? I'm not familiar with that asteroid. They have Ishtar conjunct Persephone in their synastry as well.

Have you tried looking at Siva/Parvati, Union, DNA, Spirit, etc.?

Yes, I think so. Interestingly both their families had been originally living in Eastern Germany, near the border to Russia (today`s Poland) before the 2nd world war, and as it turned out, were living just mere 20 kilometres apart from each other.
But they were coming from different social background - my paternal grandparents were farmers, my maternal grandparents were quite wealthy, though not rich, businessmen, with very independent women.

Both families had to leave their homes behind and escape to Western Germany, when the Russians invaded their area. And they ended up in neighbouring towns just 20 kilometres apart from each other!

I guess they really were meant to meet.

Saturn on ASC and Saturn on SN and Karma on composite ASC highlighting the definite karmic nature here I guess.
It is nice to see that there is an exact aspect of Venus to ASC as well, otherwise it might have gotten too heavy.
Though they seem to resonate natally with Saturn - my Mum`s DESC is in Capricorn and my Dad`s ASC is conjunct Saturn with ASC-ruler in Capricorn trine the ASC-Saturn.

He`s quite a Saturnian Aquarius.

What I did not put in there is that ATLANTIS is conjunct his ASC natally and her ATLANTIS is conjunct her DESC natally.
In the composite it is of course squaring the ASC-DESC-axis.

It sounds like it to me, Ceri - not just a chance meeting, but like they were drawn toward each other. How many years have they been married?

Even without the synastry, the fact that they have together founded organizations for taking care of people with Down's - that sounds like a relationship with a higher purpose - that of twin flames even. I think iQ should be able to tell us per the asteroids. I always remember one time he underlined the fact that the chance of 2 asteroids coming within a 1-2 degree orb of each other is very, very minute - 1 in 129,600 (is my calculation right?) - quite astronomical. Anyways, numbers aside, you should be proud of them; they sound like an inspiring couple with altruistic goals.

Wow, you're right - they have an abundance of Saturnine influences in their natal charts as well (like me)! I think Saturn on the SN in the synastry echoed in the composite is a potent tie. Did you also see they have composite Amor/Eros opposite
composite Mars/Isis/Saturn? And composite Karma on the composite AC (with Pluto in the composite 1st) even in spite of the wide orb seems fairly telling.

That is really interesting - you all have ties to Atlantis!! Have you felt a draw to tales of Atlantis? Do the others in the family feel it too? I have never thought to look up Atlantis in my chart; will have to do the same now!

Yes, I recall at least two lifelines in ATlantis.
The second one was actually a dream, though I am not sure about that.
It was during the great flood and we had to flee. All streets were under water, and I remember that my mum, one of my brothers and me were on the one side, and my father, the other brother, and someone else were on the other side.
I did not want to leave without my father and my brother, but my Mom forced me to, as she knew that noone would have a chance to survive if we didn`t get going.
Intriguingly it was pretty much the same family-structure as of now, and I clearly remember the pain at the separation.
Funnily my youngest brother was being born when I was 9 years old and when I heard the news there was this thought flashing through my mind: "Finally he has arrived." Like I had been waiting for him or something like that.

I also once watched a documentary about Atlantis with my parents and it was intriguing to see how much they related to it, even though they do not believe in past lives at all.
And it took me years to make them accept my dabbling in astrology. They were very worried for me due to not understanding how I did it and how I thought about it.

I also remember one time when my mom told me to comb my hair (it is hard to tame), as "You don`t want people to think you`re a witch". lol
It was funny, but there was some truth brimming underneath and I guess a dormant past life memory.
I know that I`ve been burnt as a witch in one of my past lives (I know most were hanged, well I was burned; I even had the burn-mark when I was being born). I think my mom might have subconsciously rememebered it and clearly remembered that "thinking differently" is not always very accepted, neither in this life nor in any other.

Well, my mom is the witch in the family to be honest, she just doesn`t want to. And somehow the freefloating spiritual energy from the maternal line got stuck on me. lol
