" Her symbol is a wine glass, but the top of the triangle is closed, suggesting her involvement in codependent situations" http://www.suberic.net/~dmm/graphics/astro/asteroids.html ^ her astrological symbol is shown here, interesting website. IP: Logged |

Mythology "HEBE was the goddess of youth and the cupbearer of the gods who served ambrosia at the heavenly feast. She was also the patron goddess of the young bride and an attendant of the goddess Aphrodite. Herakles received Hebe in marriage upon his ascension to Olympos, a wedding which reconciled the hero with Hebe's mother Hera. "

"Hebe married Heracles just after he had obtained immortality, and the couple gave birth to two sons. Through Hebe, Heracles also gained eternal youth which was much to the dislike of Hebe's mother, Hera, who was fighting against Heracles constantly. "IP: Logged |

"Stuff here too : http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/012890.html "Martha-Lang Westcot says of Hebe 'As The Cupbearer to the Gods' (before Ganymede replaced her) Hebe rules occupation where "waiting on" others is the job: waitresses, bartenders, sales persons, and domestic workers. It comes into play in situations where service attitudes are required. Hebe is the Handmaid, the person who serves others. Hebe also carries other implications. In 'serving others' Hebe as Cupbearer to the little god of egocentricity-caters to the self centered or immature demands of others - and she becomes an Enabler or co-dependant. This part of her nature is reflected in her glyph (looks like a Martini glass) the wineglass of Bacchus becomes a triangle; Hebe is the missing link that supports the behaviors of the dependent (sometimes addicted) personality. In aspect to Bacchus, one finds the classic co-dependency triangle, the addiction, the addicted person, and the enabler. but even in the absence of substance abuse there is support for helping to maintain addictive syndrome behavior patterns." http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum28/HTML/000528.html IP: Logged |
