cupido is the name given to eros in roman mythology. I was then wondering if cupido-psyche aspects in synastry are as potent as eros-psyche ?

I find tons of information on the eros-psyhe pairing but nothing on cupido-psyche. Sometimes it even seems that cupido is ddifferent from eros when they're suposed to represent the same thing.

Also as a general question I was wondering if asteroids named after Greek mythology were equivalent to those named after the roman mythology, knowing that they have the same story.
For example can we say that Juno and Hera are the same and have the same influence (so someone with hera conjunct her ascendant could share similar traits to someone who has juno conjunct the ascendant)

Is it different then if one is a planet and another an asteroid, such as jupiter and zeus, venus and aphrodite ?

No.

Eros was being split up into TWO Roman Gods, Cupido and Amor.
Cupido emphasizes the sexual side, Amor the loving/ compassionate side.

They both are important, esp. when aspecting Psyche. But Eros was more than just the son of Venus. Actually in the earliest mythology he precedes all Olympian Gods, and is a primordial God, present at or shortly after the creation of the world (shortly after night and day were created), and is so powerful that it is said that all beings have to answer to him, even Zeus-Jupiter.

Cupido and Amor on the other hand got "tamed" in the Roman culture.
Still they ARE important imo, just not nearly as much as Eros himself.

Oh! I understand now! I didn't know eros was split up into two Roman gods. Thank you for clarifying my ideas. From what I understand then what counts the most is to understand how each god was perceived in his civilization. The fact that for example jupiter was the "equivalent" of zeus isn't enough. We have to take a look at each myth that surround them in their own civilization and notice the differences between them and their description, stories, etc ?
