Asteroids Conjunct Sun or Ascendant

This is the starting point for your own studies on the relevant Asteroid Theme that has maximum impact in your life.

You may need to make several charts tom find out the Asteroids closest to your Sun or Ascendant. You will find all the major themes in my forthcoming book. For the purpose of this article, I will explain the Ancient Egyptian Theme.
The Relevant Asteroids prefixed by their number are:

1923    OSIRIS

42     ISIS

1912    ANUBIS

287    NEPHTHYS

1924    HORUS

5011    PTAH

5381    SEKHMET

5249    GIZA

896    SPHINX

4848   TUTANKHAMUN

216   KLEOPATRA

3199   NEFERTITI

If any one of these asteroids is conjunct Sun or Ascendant, then it means the Ancient Egyptian Theme is highly relevant in your life.

You may be attracted to Egyptian artifacts and may have a fascination for mummies, pyramids and desert civilizations. You may have a longing to visit Egypt, you may be totally mesmerized when you see movies like "Mummy Returns" and so on.Some of my clients who have had regression clearly identify a past life connection to Egypt. This cannot be scientifically proven but it is their subjective reality and the strong Astrological connections of these Egyptian Asteroids confirm this lifeline to them.

The MetaPhysics of the myths behind these Archetypes will also become very strong for the native who has the Sun or Ascendant conjunct these asteroids. Natives with Sun conjunct KLEOPATRA for instance will be obsessed with beauty and will have a certain royal charm about them. Ascendant conjunct OSIRIS or HORUS produces heric individuals ready to sacrifice for others. Sun conjunct ISIS bestows ladies with seductive charm and soulful looks. GIZA conjunct Sun will produce very architecture savvy natives. Those with SPHINX conj Ascendant will be masters at investigating mysteries. TUT conj Sun is strong in natives who fantasize about egyptology, archealogy  and tombs.

In complex interpretations, those who have TUT conj Sun trine HORUS and sextile SPHINX will have the same tendencies as the character Indiana Jones  or a Lara Croft!

So what are your Egyptian themes ? Know that we also have Ancient Indian/Buddhist, Sumerian, Inca, English, Greco-Roman and Occult themes as well.

Other examples for Sun or Ascendant: conjunct Asteroid:

PANDORA: Will attract trouble regularly

LUST: Insatiable sexual appetite

LUCIFER: Wicked Mind if afflicted and radically innovative if blessed.

DISCOVERY: Will discover insights at warp speed

VALENTINE: Will be very lovey dovey

SWEET: Obviously will be a sweet person.

ACHILLES: Heroic Individual with one major weakness.

AURA: Will be very sensitive to others vibrations

SHERLOCK: Will be obsessed with the stories and character of Sherlock Holmes

DESCARTES: Will make a great philosopher or show deep interest in philosophy.

TRANSYLVANIA:  Will be obsessed with Vampires, Anne Rice and Gothic culture.

Lots of aspects (tights orbs), here only the ones with Sun or ASC:

HORUS & GIZA conjunct Sun
OSIRIS conjunct ASC

I've always been very interested in architecture (GIZA).
And I tend to put other people's needs before my own... (Horus & Osiris)

There are other Egyptian deities, and I have them conjunct my Sun in 5'20 Scorpio

Athor in 6'14 Scorpio - Goddess of Love and Fertility

Selqet in 4'44 Scorpio - the goddess of healing stings and bites who originally was the deification of the scorpion,
As many of the venomous creatures of Egypt could prove fatal, Serket also was considered a protector of the dead, particularly being associated with poisons and fluids causing stiffening. She was thus said to be the protector of the tents of embalmers, and of the canopic jar associated with poison—the jar of the intestine—which was deified later as Qebehsenuf, one of the Four sons of Horus. As the guard of one of the canopic jars and a protector, Serket gained a strong association with Aset (Isis), Nebet Het (Nephthys), and Neith who also performed similar functions. Eventually, long into Egyptian history that spanned thousands of years and whose pantheon evolved toward a merger of many deities, Serket began to be identified as Isis, sharing imagery and parentage, until finally, late in their history Serket became said to be merely an aspect of Isis, whose cult had become very dominant.

other asteroids conjunct the Sun within 1 degree

Scotti in 5'23 Scorpio - My biological father's last name was Scott. I never knew him,and I don't have his last name

Ariadne in 5'02 Scorpio - in Greek mythology, daughter of King Minos and Queen Pasiphae of Crete who helped Theseus kill her maternal half-brother,The Minotaur, was abandoned by Theseus, and married the Dionysus, the God of Wine

Sun-Ariadne-Scotti (abandoned by my father)

Iphigenia in 4'43 Scorpio - In Greek Mythology, Daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra, sacrificed for fairs winds of Troy

Lamb in 4'34 Scorpio - sacrificial lamb, a victim of human sacrifice????...especially with it being conjunct Iphigenia
destined to sacrifice my life for a certain cause

asteroid Aurora in 4'27 Scorpio - Roman Goddess of the Dawn

Cetacea in 4'19 Scorpio - the order Cetacea (pronounced /sɨˈteɪʃ(i)ə/, L. cetus, whale, from Greek) includes the marine mammals commonly known as whales, dolphins, and porpoises. Cetus is Latin and is used in biological names to mean "whale"; its original meaning, "large sea animal", was more general. It comes from Ancient Greek κῆτος (kētos), meaning "whale" or "any huge fish or sea monster". In Greek mythology the monster Perseus defeated was called Ceto, which is depicted by the constellation of Cetus. Cetology is the branch of marine science associated with the study of cetaceans.

Chant in 5'01 Scorpio - chant,chanting

I don't know any conjunct my Ascendant within 1 degree.

The following asteroids are conjunct my Ascendant in 13'27 Virgo within 1 degree:

Adolfine in 13'56 Virgo - noble wolf
Wolf
"The wolf is one of the more significant animals in the myths of the early Teutonic people. It was an animal that had certain modes and manners of life that made it both to be feared and to be honored, worshipped, perhaps, somewhat as an ominous specter, and always held in awe as well as respect. The wolf was also an animal that was mythically associated primarily with the gods, but one that had a special relationship with the King of the Gods, Odin"

" have Siva conjunct my ASC exactly... not sure what that would imply."

Siva is named after Shiva
Shiva (pronounced /ˈʃiːvə/; Sanskrit: शिव Śiva, meaning "auspicious one" is a major Hindu deity, and the Destroyer or transformer of the Trimurti, the Hindu Trinity of the primary aspects of the divine.[2] In the Shaiva tradition of Hinduism, Shiva is seen as the Supreme God. In the Smarta tradition, he is regarded as one of the five primary forms of God.[3]

Siva can be about destruction,transformation

but it can also mean auspicious, kind, gracious
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiva

"I also have Pandora conjunct my ASC but I don't often attract trouble."

Pandora can be about curiosity
It was curiosity that led her to open the box. It was Hermes that gave her that trait.

Pandora is a name that actually means "all-gifted" or "all-endowed"

Pandora was given seductive gifts by all the gods/goddesses

You can use both entymology and mythology for keywords.

Orcus is not an asteroid BTW.

asteroids tend to have orbital periods around 4 years

Orcus is a transneptunian object and it is a plutino. Its orbital period is a year apart from Pluto's.

the energy of the transneptunians that orbit in the outer solar system are deeper, more intense, and more metaphysically oriented and are applied to generational matters and transformative compared to asteroids which orbit in the inner solar system and are applied to personal-social matters.

If I include transneptunians that conjunct my Sun in 5'20 within 1 degree

Ixion in 5'25 Scorpio - It's a dwarf planet candidate and plutino, orbital period 1 year apart from Pluto named after Lapith King punished by Zeus for coming onto Hera, and placed on flaming wheel in Tartarus, grandfather of the centaurs. Its themes are second chances, matters dealing with gratitude,host-guest relationship, and the karmic wheel, coveting, lust

This is definitely IQ's stuff. I immediately recognized it when I read it.

If I remembered right, he uses a maximum orb of 1 1/2 degrees.

Glaucus,

most asteroids are in the belt between Mars and Jupiter, right?
I read that Eros is an Earth crosser, w hat does this mean?
Are there asteroids further out there, beyond Neptune?
Are all centaurs between Saturn and the outer planets / objects up to Pluto?
Chiron is between Saturn and Uranus, right?
Isn`t he then a "messenger", a bridge between our everyday reality (ending with Saturn) and that with is "far out there", the evolutionary intensified processes?

"Glaucus,

Yep...where dwarf planet Ceres orbits

"I read that Eros is an Earth crosser, what does this mean?"

It's a near Earth asteroid that is a Mars crosser which means that it crosses the orbit of Mars http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/433_Eros

Hundreds of thousands of minor planets have been discovered within the Solar System, with the 2009 rate of discovery currently running at over 3,000 per month. Of the more than 500,000 registered minor planets, 243,553 have orbits known well enough to be assigned permanent official numbers.[6][7] Of these, some 15,000 have official names.[8] As of June 2010, the lowest-numbered unnamed minor planet is (3708) 1974 FV1;[9] but there are also some named minor planets above number 200,000.[10]

These fall into several broad populations:

* Asteroids; traditionally, most have been bodies in the inner solar system.[3]
o Main belt asteroids, those following roughly circular orbits between Mars and Jupiter. These are the original and best-known group of asteroids or minor planets.
o Near-earth asteroids, those whose orbits take them inside the orbit of Mars. Further subclassification of these, based on orbital distance, is traditional.
+ Aten asteroids, those that have semi-major axes of less than one Earth orbit. Those Aten asteroids that have their aphelion within Earth's orbit are known as Apohele asteroids.
+ Amor asteroids are those near-Earth asteroids that approach the orbit of the Earth from beyond, but do not cross it. Amor asteroids are further subdivided into four subgroups, depending on where their semimajor axis falls between Earth's orbit and the main asteroid belt.
+ Apollo asteroids are those asteroids with a semimajor axis greater than that of the earth while having a perihelion distance of 1.017 AU or less. Like Aten asteroids, Apollo asteroids are Earth-crossers.
o Jupiter trojans, asteroids sharing Jupiter's orbit and gravitationally locked to it. Numerically they are estimated to equal the main-belt asteroids.
* Centaurs, bodies in the outer solar system between Jupiter and Neptune. They have unstable orbits due to the influence of the giant planets' gravity, and therefore must have come from elsewhere, probably outside Neptune.[citation needed]
* Trans-Neptunian objects, bodies at or beyond the orbit of Neptune, the outermost planet.
o Neptune trojans, bodies sharing Neptune's orbit and gravitationally locked to it. Although only a handful are known, they are thought to outnumber main-belt asteroids by an order of magnitude.[citation needed]
o The Kuiper belt, objects inside an apparent population drop-off approximately 55 AU from the Sun.
+ Classical Kuiper belt objects, also known as cubewanos, are in primordial, relatively circular orbits that are not in resonance with Neptune.
+ Plutinos, bodies like Pluto that are in a 2:3 resonance with Neptune, and other resonant trans-Neptunian objects. This is a rather large group.
o Scattered disc objects, with aphelia outside the Kuiper belt. These are thought to have been scattered by Neptune.
o Detached objects such as Sedna, with both aphelia and perihelia outside the Kuiper belt.
o The Oort Cloud, is a hypothetical population thought to be the source of long period comets that may extend out to 50,000 AU from the Sun.

"Are there asteroids further out there, beyond Neptune?"

minor planets that orbit beyond Neptune.
Thosee would be the transneptunian objects like Pluto

Most of them would be referred to as kuiper belt objects
that include
plutinos like Pluto,Orcus,Ixion
cubewanos (classical kuiper belt objects) like Makemake,Haumea,Quaoar, and Varuna

Then there are transneptunians that aren't technically kuiper belt objects that belong in another category
some are scattered disk objects like Eris
some are detached objects like Sedna

"DD,

I figured that IQ wrote this stuff before. He's wrote this stuff in the forum too.

I just didn't want to assume though.

Also it's important for people to include their source when quoting from sites, etc. Credit should always be given to the author.
Copywright should be taken seriously.

That's why when I quote from a source, I often type it in quotations, tell where I got it from, and give the link to the site where I got from.

Often times, I paste stuff from a site and then put a link at the bottom. I do that because some people might not want to click on a link. I also do that because if pasting information, they can go to the site to check for themselves.

but yeah.......if it's not your original work, telling your source and giving credit to the author is the right thing to do.
Or else, it can be viewed as plagiarism.

That's why we have copywright laws.

Agree Raymond and i like that you quote the source cos sometimes i don't have time to read your posts, then the thread gets lost in the LL page by the time i return so i minimise the link on my screen to read later.

Glaucus,

Does Near-Earth asteroid mean, that these asteroids are located between Earth and Mars?

I am wondering, cause I think it may make an interpretative difference as to where they are being found.
