I just saw on a post in the Astrology forum that Ceres indicates our mothering, nurturing side.

I've never felt motherly, or nurturing, and I've never felt a need or desire to have children. I don't even find babies cute. Puppies and kittens are cuter. Lol. Anyway, I checked Ceres in my chart and surprise, surprise, it is completely unaspected. It is in 4 deg. Sagittarius, in my 1st house. This is pretty revealing, don't ya think?

That's interesting.

Maybe one day your Ceres will be activated by transits/progressions or something and you will get the maternal urge. Ya never know!

Ceres in leo 4th house, not really into the whole "being mothering and children" thing, I'll take a box of kittens and puppies any day.

I just look at what asteroids touch vs in the houses, if they don't touch anything. The asteroids are very personal to each person. Each person seems to have a few very highlighted asteroids.

I have Ceres 3 deg in Cancer house 1
Conjunct Jupiter house 2

I'm pretty good with kids.

I work with kids all the time. I really thought that I wanted to become a preschool teacher. But I am pretty burned out from working with kids all of the time. That I want to explore other career options.

Going back to college, to explore other career options, plus that way I am unavailable to take co workers shift. CAN'T I GOT SCHOOL. (thank you college!)

BUT TODAY, a mom from the school calls me to ask me to babysit her kids. Her 3 out of control children.
No wonder she wants to go back to work.

I could hear her kids screaming and yelling whole time I was on the phone.

Thank God I am so unavailable in the mornings...what if she wants me at nights though. Ahh! I told her I would get back to her.

But yeah I do want to have my own kids someday.

But for quite a while I was undecided.

I told her I'm too busy, and now she is asking me if I'm available weekends.

I plan on telling her no. And that I need days off. 5 days a week is enough for me.

I will say it a little nicer than that though. lol

Must tap into my stubborn Taurus Merc energy...and not cave in.

Escaping kids is not as easy as I thought it would be.

I have ceres in 4th in libra conjunct venus (if that means anything lol) and I love kids. At 12 I actually signed up to red cross to take their babysitters training course and even as far back as elementary I would walk the kindergartners to their buses lol. As I've gotten older though I still really like kids BUT with the world being as crazy as it is I'd rather not have any. Theres always cats and dogs and little dwarf hotot bunnies though

I have Ceres in Cancer, in the 6H. It trines Mercury-Uranus-MC, and squares Pluto, which rules that little stellium.

I wouldn't mind having kids of my own, but in general, kids that are unruly and hard to control [Pluto] are a pain, tiring to be around, and too much work [6H]. I'm good around them, but only when absolutely necessary. Its ruler, the moon, sits in the 8H, conjunct Pluto [MC ruler] and widely conjunct Saturn [work].

I have a friend that was born exactly one week before, and who also has a 6H Ceres in Cancer. She differs from me in that she has her Moon conjunct Ceres, also in Cancer. Tooootally different outlook on kids. She loves them to bits, and has been obsessing about having kids ever since she was still a kid herself. Her moon is in Cancer-ruled 5H, with domain over, among other things, children.

I have Ceres in Leo in the 8th, square Scorp Mercury and Juno.

I frequently help people especially in romantic relationships who have a lot of problems. From Chiron influences also I naturally tend to draw in people with a lot of issues. One of my worst relationships was with a Leo, since he had so many issues buried deep that were revealed when I went with him. The Mercury square reminds me that many of the things people said to me in childhood were not nurturing, but often frightening or disturbing... I think this aspect can sometimes make me kind of brutally straight forward with people when I speak about certain things like what problems they have and how to fix them, but I'm not always like this. Just when I get fed up.

As for having kids, I don't want any of my own and I probably never will. The idea of physically giving birth is very unpleasant to me to the point where I know I would be psychologically damaged if I tried to go through the process of organic mothering. I'm more interested in adopting.
