Also America is not all innocent like we think it is. The United States have done a lot of cruel stuff in its history. Its what turned me from being a Pro-Military fanatic to now being rather cynical of the military to the point I get accused of being Anti-American (even though I am merely facing blunt truths).

And OP never said she hated Americans, she just said she doesn't like the United States. BIG DIFFERENCE and just because you hold a negative view of the country doesn't mean you hate its citizenry.

I mean I got a Finiish friend whos coffs at the United States for thinking so high of itself as the "Freest" country in the world well in facrt many more such as her beloved Finland has mroe freedoms. But she doesn't hate AMericans now does she?

Really? You believe my topic is a threat to America? Who do you think I am, Voldemort? I have lots of plans, you know. I want to find a part-time job to cover some of my expenses, I want to read the books I bought last year because I just hate seeing them sitting there, I want to get back in the game and find a new boyfriend, or a girlfriend (why not? just cause Gianna was a ***** ..), I want to send my best friends some awsome Turkish delights my neighbor brought me yesterday (they just melt in your mouth!) and I really want to get better at doing my make-up. Somehow, "killing" a country is not in my list of priorities. Also, how on earth COULD I kill a country? I'm not a God or Goddess, it's not exactly something in my abilities.

That is certainly an admirable trait. It's nice to be proud of your country. I wish I could say the same, but my country hasn't really done much for me or my family, and there's not much keeping me here.

You know, it's funny because I do plan on leaving my country and moving somewhere else, and that's exactly how I feel about that place. I want to work for that country, I want to offer. I want to make a life there. I want to become a true citizen, you know? But that country isn't America.

I would like to visit, because there are some beautiful places there (like Michigan!) but it's not in my Top 10 of places I want to visit. You can see some of the reasons why below, but there are some other ones as well. Mainly, America has some policies and laws that I'm against. Abortion is not allowed in all states, in adittion to gay marriage and adoption, birth control and I think there was a change in your laws considering rape, though I'm not sure about the last one.

When exactly did I say I hate America or Americans? I said I don't like America because it scares me. If something scares me, than I don't like it, but it doesn't mean I hate it. America scares me because it's across an ocean, meaning I will have to go there either by boat or on plane. I can't swim so there is no way I'm going there by boat and flights scare me, especially long ones. I'm also scared of airports. Also, America is HUGE. It's practically a continent, and I'm not familiar with it. America also has deserts (in some places) and I'm scared of deserts too (so no Australia for me either).

My relatives fought in wars... one uncle was 2nd in command at the Battle of the Bulge, was highly decorated... and wounded... YET still "served" in human services, he and my aunt who left her money to that state for taking care of the children and families there.

I paid a price being the daughter of a man who ran out to save others who rioted in the streets because of civil rights in the 60s... My grandfather was a first responder, I lived with him for my first years...

Many of my family SERVED in government in USA and Canada........

No offense, but you kinda are overreacting, and this is coming from someone whose various ancestors were either brought here by force and made to build this country for free (blacks); or whose other ancestors were here first only to be run off their land by force (native american), and has still more ancestors (Scottish) who were part of the aristocracy overseas, and their American-born offspring gave back to this country by helping to lead it in government office.

My own dad was also drafted for the Vietnam War when he was still so young, that he's gangly in the pictures and hadn't really put on his adult weight yet. ALL my people have given to this country and/or been s.crewed over by this country. I feel a strong mix of love/hate towards the United States, or to be more accurate, I'm a patriotic cynic (which makes sense considering my Mars is in Cancer with a slew of bad aspects to it - America is Cancerian, after all...). This country has so many good things about it, but there's a lot of bulls**t too so I absolutely understand anyone who is exasperated with, or actually dislikes, America. We (the country as a collective), have a lot to answer for, and a lot to work on. I'm a proud American...who can't wait to get the heck outta here and move to France or Sweden or something.

To the OP - the dislike and fear is probably because of the house placement. The eighth house is kind of an inherently dark house by nature, and it makes sense that having the asteroid land in that house, explains your uneasiness about the country.

I understand what you say... yes, I know you're right when you saw that there are many who are worse in other places on the net... (Doesn't make them right...)

Gently, I say to you that I'm someone who does not disassociate being an American with living in the USA.... To me, it's the same "family"! I am an American by birth and by choice. Chirp says she/he is an American by birth but not by CHOICE... she will flee the country, by her will.

But then, if you think of 'work teams'? It's usually better to let a person 'off' the team whose heart is not with the team and pulling in the same direction (or not pulling at all, but obstructing the work to be done).

Some countries have 'honor'.... After the West Virginia Tech Shooter, Korea called with apology. With the Boston Marathon Bombers, Russia called President Obama (USA/me) to apologize to our country...

These Leaders saw their citizen as extention of collective whole. I see MYSELF as an extention and ambassador of my own country. When foreign people see me, they know I am an American, and I behave in a way to 'honor' my country. I am each of my neighbors here.

We are as strong as our weakest representatives. If one falls, we all have fallen, then we help them get up.

(Beautiful Bostonians were shining examples at the Marathon explosions).

I get personally very embarrassed when gauche, unmannered, ignorant Americans go to foreign countries and act atrociously ... THEY do NOT represent "me"... but when foreigners hear 'I am an American?' then they're gonna think of the bad image they saw and felt.....

That's...not quite what I said. Again, there's good and bad about the country and I've experienced both and have witnessed both happen to others firsthand, so any commentary along the lines of me fleeing the States because my entire experience here has been a living Hell is a bit inaccurate.

I found the "your new country" thing a little weird and slightly passive-aggressive, but okay. The fact is whether you like it or not, I am an American and you really can't strip me of my citizenship lmao. I was born here, and like I went into in my last post, it could probably be argued that some of my people were here longer than yours, and the ones that weren't, put just as much blood sweat and tears into this country as yours did, if not more. Not that I really want to get into a ******* contest over whose Ameri-peener is bigger, but if you really wanna go that route...

Even if I do choose to leave the country, and even if I do have some very real issues with a lot of the really nasty things about Ameican society, our culture, our laws, and how we as a country treat each other and the rest of the world, I am still an American, will still consider myself an American first and foremost, and the Founding Fathers actually appreciated total Freedom of Speech and the right to say anything you want, even if it's speaking about the negativity in the government and policy makers - which is why they fought tooth and nail and made sure to protect that in the Bill of Rights and Constitution. Hell, the entire reason this country came to be, was over the right to truly be free in all respects so in essence, your mindset and behavior here is actually un-American and goes against everything this country as founded on and all its creators, stood for.

Love for your country (or a person) doesn't mean you have to blindly agree with and adore everything about them. You can totally appreciate something and acknowledge the sh*tty aspects of it at the same time, it's not an either/or thing and in honesty your stance is more than a little extremist - to me, anyway. Like I said, my Mars is in Cancer - so when people slam the United States for no good reason, I'm the first one jumping in to play the good citizen and fight for its honor because I genuinely love my country, but at the same time there's things about it, its policies, and its people that are genuinely disgusting and you will never ever see me sit there and condone the inexcusable.

And yeah - my dad did time in Vietnam - by force, punishment for evading the draft is prison time. Surely you see why I can't lump all-praise on a country that forced people to go out and risk their lives; interestingly enough, most of the draftees were poor and/or of color - somehow Uncle Sam decided to pick and choose who they'd toss out there to die and decided some lives were worth more than others - if my dad had been born a blonde whose daddy had connections at Harvard and Yale, the closest he would've gotten to 'Nam is watching the coverage on the Nightly News. Don't get me started on all the other things this country has done wrong or I'll be here for years typing.

Some countries have 'honor'.... After the West Virginia Tech Shooter, Korea called with apology. With the Boston Marathon Bombers, Russia called President Obama (USA/me) to apologize to our country...

These Leaders saw their citizen as extention of collective whole. I see MYSELF as an extention and ambassador of my own country. When foreign people see me, they know I am an American, and I behave in a way to 'honor' my country. I am each of my neighbors here.

We are as strong as our weakest representatives. If one falls, we all have fallen, then we help them get up.

(Beautiful Bostonians were shining examples at the Marathon explosions).

I get personally very embarrassed when gauche, unmannered, ignorant Americans go to foreign countries and act atrociously ... THEY do NOT represent "me"... but when foreigners hear 'I am an American?' then they're gonna think of the bad image they saw and felt.....

We each need to do our part. Respect and honor. Play and have fun, yessss of course! But please be very 'sensitive' --- to ALL Americans who are present here... Some think I've very conservative, but I am a Democrat at heart.

When people shout 'death to America' they shout threats to anyone "living" in America! If they nuke the United States, they are nuking ME.... I live and belong to this Land! I VOTE, and that vote helped elect people in Legislature. (Who are SUPPOSED to be voting "for me" but who are NOT!! arrrgh! )

I'm curious - how are you really any different from the "gauche, ignorant" Americans who go to foreign countries and alienate the people? Truthfully, if your goal is to be an ambassador for the United States, you really aren't doing a good job if the way you reacted to the OP is any indication.

And your comment that people who can view America's faults square on and honestly acknowledge them, are somehow working "against the team" just seems really nonsensical to me; if anything, finding what's wrong, pointing it out, and working on it could only improve the country, not hurt it.

I'm gonna be honest, to me your mindset isn't all that different from the extremist terrorists shouting "Death to America!". It's the same dogmatic thing, even down to the way you try to discourage free thought by spinning it as a negative.

Now, as interesting as our family history is, can you tell me why we're discussing it in a topic about Asteroid America and its position in the natal chart? I'll be happy to know its position in the natal charts of you and your family, and how (you think) it affected their lives, but if all you want to do is to show how American you are, do it elsewhere because it doesn't interest me. You are American. So what? It's a nationality, and most people have nationalities too. It's nothing special, it just is. Your feelings of pride for your nationality make it special FOR YOURSELF. And that's good, but it doesn't concern me.

In this topic, I didn't ask people to give me mini-essays on their countries, I asked people to tell me about Asteroid America in my chart. And like another poster said, last time she checked there is North America, Central America and South America.
