In the Natal chart asteroid Child would bring an innocence to the native. How you express it depends on whether it conjuncts on the 12H side or 1H side of the ASC. The placement would vary the interpretation.

From the 12th House you would secretly be a child at heart. From the 1st House you would show your childlike nature. This is a good aspect and should be demonstrated. The world would benefit from your childlike nature.

oops, I didn't see that about synastry.

In synastry, I believe the Ascendant person would be creating a need for new experiences in their life relating to the asteroid coming from the other person.
