Was looking at this image of Danae today and decided to read some versions of the myth and check out the asteroid. Zeus visits Danae in her impenetrable tower as a golden shower and impregnates her. An incredible lust story for sure! He does help her and their offspring through their woes after the deed is done, though, so there is some love there as well
Natally my Danae isn't super prominent, but in synastry my Danae is conjunct a boy's Jupiter that I have many "soul mate pairings" with. Interesting!
Has anyone else done more research on Danae (61)?

I think by research you meant astrological, but, I just had to look up the context of Danae being in the "impenetrable" chambers. Acrisius, her father, locked her up (in some versions it's a subterranean cave rather than a tower). He was told by an oracle that his future grandson (Perseus) would kill him, and so, Acrisius tried to avoid this fate...which never seems to work in these stories. At least she wasn't trying to avoid Zeus herself. As far as I've read (not too far) we don't really know how she feels about him. I also have Danae conjunct the Jupiter of a "soulmate" candidate, but I've no idea what to do with this. Perhaps the attraction of the Jupiter/Zeus person inadvertently helps free the Danae person from a confinement of some sort. Then the former is compelled to see the latter to safety, partly because of their own investment. IP: Logged | |
