My Anteros is conjunct my Chiron and square my Sun, Moon and Mars. One of my biggest fears growing up was that I would never be able to love a person back! I still struggle with showing my affections, especially when I know someone really loves me. I'm not afraid of my love for them, but that it is not enough or not good enough for the way they love me (if that makes any sense).

Maybe natal squares indicate a "hang up" in returning love in a relationship related to the planet aspected?

The conjunctions/trines in synastry, in my experience, seem to indicate a reciprocation of the energy of the planet aspected. I'm wondering if the squares still feel that reciprocation, but maybe have a harder time showing their feelings? Like maybe a blockage? Or do you think the feelings aren't there at all?

I have Anteros on 19 Scorpio:

trine Eros and Vertex on 21 Cancer

quinkunx Chiron on 20 Aries

well my Moon is on 17 Aquarius, but not sure if that might not be too wide, as the orb is over 2 degrees (the Eros trine is under 2 degrees still).

the quinkunx to Chiron does make sense, I do have some difficulties to reciprocrate affections, due to feeling it leaves me very vulnerable and I might face rejection after all.

Yes, I would definitely reciprocrate, but don`t expect me to overtly display my affection at first.

His Anteros is conjunct his Pluto and Spirit, and conjunct my Sappho and DNA,opposite my Chiron, and squaring my Eros and Vertex.

I guess it is complicated for him. lol

I think for that there would be no aspects present at all to indicate a lack of connection.
