Have you guys heard of the four loves?

Storge
Philia
Agape
and finally Eros

quote:
Eros (ἔρως ) for Lewis was love in the sense of 'being in love' or 'loving' someone, as opposed to the raw sexuality of what he called Venus: the illustration Lewis uses was the distinction between 'wanting a woman' and wanting one particular woman - something that matched his (classical) view of man as a rational animal, a composite both of reasoning angel and instinctual alley-cat.[15]
Eros turns the need-pleasure of Venus into the most appreciative of all pleasures;[16] but nevertheless Lewis warned against the modern tendency for Eros to become a god to people who fully submit themselves to it, a justification for selfishness, even a phallic religion.[17]
After exploring sexual activity and its spiritual significance in both a pagan and a Christian sense, he notes how Eros (or being in love) is in itself an indifferent, neutral force: how "Eros in all his splendour...may urge to evil as well as good".[18] While accepting that Eros can be an extremely profound experience, he does not overlook the dark way it may lead even to the point of suicide pacts or murder, as well as to furious refusals to part, "mercilessly chaining together two mutual tormentors, each raw all over with the poison of hate-in-love".[19]

I was dwelling over my love life.
And "Eros" seems to be the most sorrowful, constantly being disappointed and heart broken by the only person I've ever loved...

We would look at my Venus and moon which are in conjunction on my ascendant and in conjunction with my Chart ruler.

I have very healthy liberal airy out look on what love should be.
Simply equality.

my love life seems to be emotionally intense, and ever so sorrowful.

parents and siblings who I love very much- storge

amazing friends -philia

Pure agape love with my soul mate and best friend..

We associate asteroid Eros with sex right?
Throughout my life I've always had a healthy and stable opinion about sex and my own sexuality.
I'm satisfied, no complaints or hang ups.
I have domicile mars.

My eros is on Algol 12th house opposite Pluto.
I've only loved one person romantically but things seem to happen that question our love.
Obstacles, to the point where I may have to sacrifice my own future...
This goes against my liberal airy out look on love... There is no equality.
I wish I was not capable of love because eros has been a pretty painful experience...
In this life time I don't see myself loving another person the same way.

Even if synastry explains my feelings
Eros in taurus 12th probably explains my intense love nature.. the way I feel for the person I am in love with.
Love has never been a game for me, it's ride or die..
Not nessarily the way I express my love or want to be treated which is again the interactions between my moon and Venus.

So what do you think about Eros..
Have you made any observations.

I'm not really looking for advice as to what I should do because my end judgement is usually the correct one, I'm just looking for ideas on Eros.
From what i found it's more about erotic turn ons... so I never paid attention to it that much..

No in my opinion Eros isnt only about erotic and/or sexual turns ons that's basic bs. Eros is a very transformational energy. Its the type of energy that uses sex as a enlightening experience. Eros and Venus/Mars views on sex are very different. Venus has sex for purely pleasure and self-gratification. Eros has sex to in a way to consummate a relationship the same way one would do so at the end of a marriage ceremony. When you have a significant amount of influence from eros in your chart when yoy fall in love it isn't something superficial. Eros constantly longs for completion with another person even if they are unable to admit it to themselves. Eros can cause sorrow when you are constantly looking for that feeling of completion and someone else is unable to reciprocate that physical-emotional connection with you.

I've always associated Eros with erotic LOVE. Love that needs a physical union to be complete. I have it in Scorpio in a close conjunction to my Moon. It's one of the things in my chart that make me suspect I might need to be in love to feel strong attraction, strong enough to desire a sexual conjunction. Either way, I don't take sex lightly so I can relate. I want it to be a meeting of 2 longing souls that finally found each other...Lol, this was cheesy

I hope you work things out with your boyfriend.

Hi ail, any opinion on Eros conjunct Eros...or Eros opposing or square Eros?

Is that going to be felt, inevitably and strongly?

I'd be surprised if a conjunction wasn't felt!

In my experience eros is always felt even if the conjunction/square is one sided so long as it stays within 3 orbs for asteroids and sometimes at most 4 for luminaries and angles.

Thank you, I haven't found anything on this aspect anywhere else. I seem to have a lot of Eros-Eros aspects with people I know or in former relationships.

I find Eros-Eros to be a strong one as well. I think I even feel it in a trine.

But personally I wouldn`t allow such generous orbs.

Interestingly I just today received the newsletter from cosmitec, and their subject was ERos, today.

EDIT:
I edited the article out, cause I found it did not reflect the depth of Eros sufficiently.

While, yes, Eros is about what "turns you on" so to speak, he is much more than that. NO, not necesssarily about true, long lasting, marriage love (does not exclude it necessarily) .

But he is more than ONLY aobut what turns you on.

In fact Eros is a primordial God, borne out of the Chaos, present at the beginning of the world, yes in some kind one could say he is at least partly the creator of life, that divine spark, that made life possible.

And that is what he does in synastry, too. He brings a spark of life, he lits that spark inside, he makes you feel alive.
And he pretty much transforms you, changes you, in the sense that he brings that something new into your life, creates something, or makes you create something (sometimes a new life, sometimes a creative project).
