Adonis(2101) Phaeton(3200) Ankhises(1173)-Aphrodite(1388), Ishtar(7088), Innamen(3497), Astarte(672)

APHRODITE was the great Olympian goddess of pleasure, joy, beauty, love and procreation.
These are Aphrodite's sexual liaisons with mortal men. Although five are described by classical writers, only the stories of Adonis and Ankhises are elaborated upon to any substantial degree. The former was connected with a popular cult of the goddess introduced from the East, while the latter formed an integral part of the celebrated Trojan War saga.

In ancient Greek and Roman art, only the stories of Adonis and Phaon make a significant appearance.

APHRODITE MORTAL LOVES
2101 ADONIS A Prince of the island of Kypros (in West Asia), who was loved by Aphrodite. She bore him a daughter, Beroe, before he fell before the tusks of the jealous Ares disguised as a boar.
1173 ANKHISES A Shepherd-Prince of Dardania (near Troy, Asia Minor) who was loved by the goddess Aphrodite - some say Zeus sought to punish her with a lowly mate for causing the gods to fall in love with an endless string of mortal women. She bore him two sons Aeneas and Lyros.
BOUTES A Lord of Attika (in Southern Greece) and one of the Argonauts. He was rescued by Aphrodite when he leapt into to the sea under the charm of the Seirenes. She carried him off to Italia as her lover and bore a son, Eryx.
3200 PHAON Phaon was a boy loved by Aphrodite. He was perhaps the same as Phaethon (below) or Adonis.
PHAETHON An Athenian lord, son of the goddess Eos and her motal love Kephalos, who was carried off by Aphrodite to Syria. There she made him guardian of her temple and bore him a son Astynoos.

Aurora (94)-Tithonus(6998)-Aurora was the ancient Roman equivalent of Eos. Eos was the ancient Greek goddess of the dawn. Aurora is the Latin word for dawn.

Aurora renews herself every morning at dawn and flies across the sky. She announces the morning's arrival. She has a brother and a sister. Her brother is the sun, and her sister is the moon. She also has many husbands and four sons, one for each cardinal direction: North, East, South, and West.

Aurora is comparable to Eos in Greek mythology and to Ushas in Hindu mythology.
One of her lovers was Tithonus. Aurora asked Zeus to grant immortality to Tithonus. However, she failed to ask him for eternal youth. As a result, Tithonus ended up aging eternally.

Paris(3317)-Helena (101), **Oenone(215)

Basically, when Paris was a shepherd he met Oenone, who was a mountain nymph, and they fell in love and had a son together named Corythus. Then he met the 3 goddesses (the golden apple incident), where Aphrodite told him that she would give him the most beauitful woman in the whole world - Helen - and Paris forgot all about Oenone and ditched her in favor of Helen. This is when the whole Tale of Troy began.
Oenone sent her son Corythus to Troy to claim his birthright as the royalty of Troy (since he is the son of Prince Paris) after a while, and when Corythus went to Paris's apartment he found Helen there by herself, Paris being in the back room. He then (I forget) clung to her, or something, and when Paris heard her shrieks he rushed out and killed the young man "harassing" his wife, after which he found out that the young boy was his son. He regretted it a lot...

Then the last event was when Paris was shot by Philoctetes's poisoned arrow, and Paris remembered Oenone and knew that she was the only one who could save him (with her medicinal/nymph powers...), and the palace members brought him up to her cave. However, Oenone turned him away coldly, saying, "Go back to your beautiful Helen; see how she can save you now" or something similar. So Paris was carried back to the palace, and he died since she wouldn't help him. When Paris was being burned on his funeral pyre, Oenone suddenly rushed in and threw herself beside him, being consumed by the flames with him...she realized her folly and became overcome with remorse, and rushed down to die with him.

"Boaz and Ruth"
In the Talmud, some rabbis identify Boaz as the judge Ibzan of Bethlehem.
Many scholars believe that the Bethlehem referred to in the story is the Bethlehem in the territory of the Tribe of Zebulun, rather than the more famous Bethlehem in the Tribe of Judah. However the Talmud (Bava Batra 91a) asserts that Ibzan is to be identified with Boaz from the story of Ruth, who lived in the Bethlehem of Judah, and that he consummated his marriage with Ruth on the last night of his life.

h40 Cupido--everyone talks about asteroid Cupido being all about appearance and no substance, but ive read the Uranian Cupido is different, it has depth and focus on true love.

h41 Hades--(Pluto)--h57 Prosperpina--Im wondering if these would potentially be making an aspect to one another...although im not sure the difference between these particular Uranian placements...i havent been able to find anything on them except that a lot of traditional astrologers dont think they should be used...i personally dont think theres enough research done, or i cant find any, to rule them out, saying their not important.

Hi Gabby

Tara is another name for Kaali. I think Ail meant that she could be matched with incarnations of Siva,

So, on the female side we have - Tara, Kaali, Parvati
whilst Siva, Mahakala, Rudra, Shankar, Hara are all names for Lord Shiva

He brings queen to your DC, does he see you as his Queen in your relationship?

That's quite an interesting list Gabby.

I think you have mistaken Thereus (32532) named after the the centaur with Tereus who raped his wife Procne's sister Philomela.

I discovered these asteroids were actually named after people.

Lie was named Sophus Lie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/26955_Lie

Paine was named after Thomas O Paine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5188_Paine

Fink was named after Uwe Fink http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10891_Fink

Masterman was named after Mary Masterman http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/21561_Masterman

Poisson was named after Simeon Denis Poisson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12874_Poisson

Prevert was named after Jaques Prevert a French Poet.

Villon was named after Francios Villon who ironically was involved in criminal behaviour. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10140_Villon

Meeus is named after Jean Meeus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2213_Meeus

Lovelock is named after James Lovelock http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/51663_Lovelock

Innanen is named after Kimmo Innanen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3497_Innanen

Destinn was named after Emmy Destinn http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/6583_Destinn

I can definitely understand why people use these asteroids the power of association is quite a powerful force.I find it fitting that asteroid Paine conjuncts my Dsc since I do feel that other cause me a lot of pain.

Re: HINDU GODS

"(Male)--Siva(1170), Vishnu(4034), Brahma(??)-(Brahms(1818) or Branham(4140) or Brauna(1411)
Rudra(2629), Mahakali(10819), Shankar(22817), Hara(4640)
(Female)--Kaali(4227)Tara (5863),Parvati(2847), Krishnan(22533)"

Hi Gabby,
Could I suggest some amendments to the above? I'll explain:

The Universal soul (God) has three aspects: Brahman (creator), Vishnu (preserver), Siva (destroyer).

Each of these has a female principle or consort. So we have the following pairs:
Siva + Parvati
Brahman + Saraswati
Vishnu + Lakshmi

Since there are no asteroids for Saraswati and Lakshmi, we only need to concern ourselves with Siva. Vishnu or Brahman wouldn't consort with another Goddess., e.g, Parvati. You have already included Rama, who is an earthly incarnation of Vishnu. Krishnan is also an Incarnation of Vishnu, but again his other half, Radha, has no asteroid,

So after eliminating the singles, the list could be amended to the following, which makes it a little simpler.

(Male)-- Siva (1170), Rudra (2629), Mahakala (10819), Shankar (22817), Hara (4640)
(Female)-- Kaali (4227), Tara (5863), Parvati (2847)

Hope that's OK.

Thank you Panthero!
The thereus asteroid is one that's being investigated, it does seem to be associated with philomela when you look at both their discovery charts and so far the couple people who have prominent philomela's seem to have prominent thereus making an aspect, such as myself! We are wondering if there is a possibility for a dual meaning?
Hopefully others will investigate and let us know because their story in mythology is probably the most violent story in mythology...worse than Nessus/Dejanira, so it's an important one! But as you said, it's also about association and where your subconscious connects these asteroids!
In my chart, Santa....everyone else would associate with Christmas...I didn't grow up celebrating holidays and didn't even really know much about him until I was an adult. Asteroid Santa though is very prominent in my chart, sits right in between my Kaali and Lilith, exact square my Saturn and opposed my philomela..the step dad I had that was so abusive, associated with my philomela pain, his last name was Sant...he was murdered! Kind of interesting his last name sits under a degree between Kaali and Lilith? So yes, I agree with you how subconscious association is very important!
Thank-you for finding the references on those asteroids, I have more I need to add but have company right now so I'll get to it a day or to!

Yes Tara is a aspect of Kali but she is more so a goddess of compassion. I did a thread on her sometime last year.

I think Thereus has some similarities to Tereus because if it is badly aspected it may give a person predatory tendencies.Although I do think they are slightly different because Tereus was an evil man. Thereus was a centaur a creature known for being wild and unruly and it is in their nature to hunt. Also I think Thereus would represent how we achieve our goals and putting or plans into action.I think Thereus may cause some harm but it usually isn't done intentionally like tereus would hurt others.I think Tereus would be associated with rape and tyranny and abuse of power.Thereus would probably symbolise completing our objectives, actively pursuing status, power, status or whatever is desired.
I have Thereus conjunct my Moon,Philomela opposite my Moon and Prokne square Pluto.THe problem I would have with giving Thereus a double meaning is because they are two different people and each of them deserves their own asteroid with their own meaning. Also that asteroid already ready has a namesake even though not many people have heard Thereus not many people have heard of Tereus either. Its not like asteroid Lie where everybody automatically associates it with lying. If we give it a double meaning everyone will automatically use it to symbolise Tereus and not Thereus therefore people who have a Prominent Thereus will not have it properly interpreted in their charts because everyone will associate it with Tereus. It wouldn't be be fair to them when it already has a clear definition of what its named after.

@Astro keen, that's perfect! Thank you, my goal is accuracy so we can understand the asteroids meaning and how it relates! If you see any place I got it wrong please let me know so I can correct it!

I've read Varuna also aspects here, Ganesa and Soma but I'm not sure how... Do you know about these?

@Panthera- thank you! I understand what your saying....
In another thread it was pointed out that Tereus was a crater on Saturn, maybe it's better to use Saturn?
Saturn is an exact to the minute square to my Philomela...in my opinion any abuse like philomela went through is going to have a karmic reason, so Saturn would be appropriate in that way also!

My question regarding Thereus and the confusion, I still want to investigate him as related to Philomela.....because there is many asteroids that are used relating to one thing when it's aspecting a certain asteroid but means something completely unrelated by itself or when prominently aspecting a different asteroid. It's for the astrologer to have the discernment to tell what the asteroid means, determined by how it aspects in someone's chart.
Not meaning to be disagreeable, and I completely see where your coming from and how it would create confusion and inaccurate reading to the untrained astrologer....that's why id still like to research more, for accuracy, it's just such a close name, Thereus/Tereus in such an important myth....I'd hate to dismiss it without thoroughly looking into it possibly relating! It would be nice to get the most info and players available for this myth, since it's such a traumatic eventful myth!

I feel philomela very deeply....I had such brutality that it stole my ability to speak of it, speak up for my own needs, or even believe I deserved the air we breath I lost my voice so much I refused to trust or even believe my own perceptions of reality.....it's kind of important to me and if I could help ppl avoid or understand why they were brutalized or children esp, who have the potential to be hurt like that....I want to be able to see and potentially who might be the Tereus person...I just think it's important? I'm trying to find out the birthday of the person who did this to me....I have his death day, but not birthday!
Research, research....I'll keep working on it!!

Just check Wiki for them. Ganesha's the elephant-headed son of Parvati. Varuna's not listed for any consorts on the boards here that I remember (but I think his mount may have been mentioned somewhere, unless I'm mixing it with Garuda who was Vishnu's mount and who I do know is somewhere). Soma's a nectar from what I recall.

You're also missing Kama out of the Indian generic ones (love, sex, whatever), same as Peitho, and Menelaus out of pairings. He was Helen of Troy's husband before that slight swiping act from Paris that then made her that "of Troy" to begin with. If you have Arthur and Lancelot and Mark and Tristan both for Guinevere and Isolde, Paris and Menelaus represent a third husband-lover type love triangle potential thing. Although I see you're also missing Mark (Marc's probably the closest in asteroids) from the list, too. Not lovers like the more "legendary" pairings for the women in question, but they were all married first.

If you just wanted mythological pairings, there'd be 911 Agamemnon and his wife Klytaemnestra as well as Hecuba and Priam or whatever they were for the king and queen of Troy, and so on and so forth. I wouldn't call the former necessarily the greatest, but then the lot were cursed in any case, and you seemed to be going for some sort of a completist's list.

Wasn't there also something with Perseus and Thetis or something? And was that the one where he couldn't keep her despite everything?

If you're listing Pecker I think you should list Dick as well since I'm pretty sure there was one called that as well. Pan hankered after Syrinx but she rather turned into a reed than dealt with him, but he did make the pan-pipes out of her later then.

I would imagine that having asteroid Fan conjunct something wouldn't hurt either in developing favourable views of someone. You had Solidarity and Compassion, but what about Magnanimity from the same back to back bunch I think those three were?

As in, I think the Trojan war had Agamemnon swiping a lot of people for his slaves or desires, ranging from Kassandra to Chryseis who I think came up earlier this week somewhere around here? Achilles was into Briseis (her cousin?) how I recall it, but if he started his hissyfit of not fighting due to Agamemnon stealing her and someone this week talked about Agsy stealing Chryseis instead, I'd have to check which way around the myths went with them. All I know is I have Briseis opp Chryseis and Agamemnon-Klytaemnestra next to Briseis, and one of the -seis girl's father conjunct all that somewhere as well. Not to mention Apollo, whose priestess one of the two girls was supposed to be (or the father his priest, like I'd remember), and good lord, don't these Iliad figures ever stop? (No.)

Then again, I also think it was alluded that Patroclus was Achilles' lover or something, too? Friend at the very least, but I seem to recall there was potential for a gay relationship mention there as well. Did Achilles also have a thing for whichever Amazon it was, although they only met in battle and he killed her? Penthesileia?

Oh, and Hektor and Andromache, his wife. Troy's side. How about Sokrates and Xanthippa, whatever the spelling for her? Xanthippe? Quarrulous wife, whatever I recall about her reputation.

Oh gods, I saw you didn't list Marc Antony for Kleopatra. Prepare to wade through options that I think may ALL work. ;P

Marc, Marcustacitus (I know it's different, but Marcusaurelius doesn't work and is a better known different person, and those two are the only actual Marcus-names on the list), Antonia, Antonini.

There needs to be a separate post about all the different Marcuses and people checking which check the most consistently, but if Thora is for Thor and many other female versions of names were used in the early days of asteroid naming, Antonia would pass for Antony fine.

That is, I just 1-2 nights ago discovered a major cross-pattern between all those in one synastry case, so want to believe that all may apply. Need more corroboration, of course, but for tentative options of the one she blazed the world with, Marc Antony should be there.

He was also married to Fulvia (third wife, politically savvy fantastic woman of her own) before running off with Kleopsy there, so if people want more married couples running off with bigger flames, Fulvia & co. are there as well. Huge pattern, trust me. I think he had a fourth wife when he was actually with Kleopatra, #4 taking care of his children later, something like that, but I forget her name or how all that went. Not a love figure like Kleopatra in any case.

71445 Marc
12580 Antonini, 272 Antonia
609 Fulvia

1387 Kama
