Hidalgo means having the ability to be assertive, stand up for your beliefs, protect self and others.

Do harsh aspects make it difficult to be assertive, or does it make one Overly-assertive? Any experiences?

I think I am assertive when I see wrong being done in the work place or my environment. I was abrasively so in my youth, but have learnt to be more tactful as time has gone by. I am still the person who bells the cat.

Hidalgo is exactly conjunct Horus in Sag, 4th house.

Horus can indicate an "Innate feeling of a need to work for justice and righteousness on Earth." (iQ). So that makes sense. I had the need to speak for myself in the house (4th) but didn't do this initially - it was a lesson that had to be learnt. Harshly.

Hidalgo is also sextile Veritas in Virgo. I like how the message is being repeated across my chart.

Veritas 4.23 - Vir
Horus 4.25 - Sag
Hidalgo 4.30 - Sag
Raman 4.24 - Aries (Rama stands for righteousness)

And I have Hidalgo / Angelica DW in synastry. This sounds good but what could it mean?

Hidalgo conjunct Jupiter and Nessus in Scorpio in 1st house...not bad

I'm good at asserting myself, especially in highly chaotic situations. It squares Mars by 3 degree orb(not sure whether it counts or not), maybe that's why.
