As I was reading the Sabian Symbols, I read a description that actually felt pretty accurate;
for 19 Cancer (where my Psyche is), it was, quote, "A fragile miss, representative of proud old blood, is wed in a marriage ceremony by a priest to the eager youth of the new order".
Honestly, I had an incredibly vivid dream following a similar story.
Where's your Psyche? And how would it be interpreted? How accurate does it seem?

My Psyche is on 24 Aquarius

"A Butterfly With The Right Wing More Perfectly Formed"

The funny thing is that butterflies seem to like me, they are always landing on my hair, the rim of my glasses, shoulder whereever.
And also the symbol of PSyche IS a butterfly of course.

I do think this Sabian indicates that I have to work on a balance between my cognitive and my instinctive side.

BTW it seems my EROS on 21 Cancer is conjunct your Psyche

My Psyche is at 16 Gemini:

The Head Of A Robust Youth Changes Into That Of A Mature Thinker

Yeah, it fits. But what I also like is that it is opposite my favorite grouping of asteroids at the last minutes of 15 to first minutes of 17 Sagittarius:

15-16 deg Sagittarius

Sea Gulls Fly Around A Ship In Expectation Of Food

Ceres

16-17 deg Sagittarius

4 degrees Virgo (exact conjunction with Jupiter )

"Black and white children playing happily together."

Underlying fellowship of all life underneath social creeds. Stimulating sense of distinctness. Rising above contrasts.

It fits :> I like all people and believe in the sacredness of life. If I weren't such a coward I'd try and become a civil servant of some sort.

Virgo 29 degrees - Totally Intent Upon Completing An Immediate Task, A Man Is Deaf To Any Allurement

I'm not sure how I really relate to this, as I can't quite think of the words to say, but I'm sure there is probably some sort of correlation.

I really like Ellias Lonsdale's Chandra degree symbols he complied. They are really well-written. For my Psyche, it is:

VIRGO 29
A witch preparing magic mushrooms.
Within the delicate, formative stages of major departures into the unknown, there is encountered an extraordinary task and lesson that detains you a long while. It becomes self-evident that it is everything that comes before that makes the difference. There must be a fully attuned, magical sensibility to make the future possible. Coming to this requires arduous discipline and elaborate ritual, internal initiation. This becomes such a labyrinth of discipleship and apprenticeship that you wander through the maze discovering everything you ever needed to know. All is played out within. There is no need to make anything happen on the outer. You are assigned to empty yourself out, to strip everything away, to become invisible. And if you excel at your craft, so many ventures and initiatives will be seeded, that this inner planes total mobilization will prove to be more fruitful and productive than any premature thrusts of outer mind, no matter how impressive or seemingly necessary. The entire path lies well within, and needs no surface success to substantiate itself.

Here's my Chandra Symbol:

CANCER 19
An opossum comes out into the moonlight.
Inside-out. Massively vulnerable and strictly unreachable. A verge in destiny where the innermost soul is revealing its true colors in a magical display. However, it is a ritual performance and heavily guarded and veiled all the while. You give a glimpse of the unarmored underbelly, yet mask so many things in order to make this excruciating edge safe and secure and something to dream into at many angles, but remain alone within. Becoming ready to open to threshold states, vastly afraid of myriad dangers. And therefore, placing a small part of yourself into the light of the shared arena while retaining control over the rest. A testing of the waters with such underlying supersensitivity that there will be a lot more hiding than seeking before you discover how to put yourself forward freely, face the shadow of your fears, and live to tell about it.

Why is it an opossum? XD

Greetings and blessings to all! I'm seeking input on a grand cross in my chart involving Psyche @ 3 Virgo, 1st House/2nd cusp, square Neptune @ 5 Sag in 4th House, square Pholus @ 4 Pisces, 7th House/8th cusp, square Saturn @ 4 Gemini, 10th House. My Saturn/Neptune Opposition is involved in a Mystic Rectangle which entangles another Opposition of Mercury 8th House/Pluto 2nd House. I would post my chart if only I knew how! As much as I see in astrology, when it comes to my own energy, I am truly perplexed by this configuration and its meaning with respect to my career (Saturn in 10th aspecting all planets/asteroids mentioned) Thanks in advance for your kind ear, and any insight.

Leave it to me to forget to point out that Psyche trines my MC @ 5 degees Taurus. There seems to be a plethora of info on Psyche in respect to relationships but my gut tells me it represents so much more, especially in my astrology and with regard to my career. Also, when I switch up house systems the Psyche/Pholus Opposition to which I refer falls strictly in my 1st/7th houses. If anyone can guide me on how to post my chart, I'd be most appreciative. Light & Love!

An Evening Party Of Adults On A Lawn Illumined By Fancy Lanterns

This fits so much it's scary because all that know me also know that my idea of great evenings involve friends around big dinner tables in a garden, with candles/lights.

This is however for my progressed chart. Most things in my pchart fits.

Easter Weekend 2020.
Happy Easter!

16 Psyche Taurus 6.11'47" H5

Sabian Rudhyar/Wheeler
PHASE 37 (TAURUS 7°):
"THE WOMAN OF SAMARIA AT THE ANCESTRAL WELL."

KEYNOTE:
The meeting of the traditional past and of the creative spirit pointing to the future.

The symbol refers to a most important, but usually narrowly interpreted (or interpreted away!) episode of the Christ mythos.

Early in his ministry, Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at an ancestral well.
This woman belongs to a tribe despised by the Jews;
moreover,
she is unmarried and therefore on the fringe of even her own society.

It is to just 'that kind of woman' that Jesus reveals that he is the Messiah: "I am He," a revelation that he apparently will not bestow even upon his disciples, at least not in words.
(Words in occultism are 'the creative factor'.)

What does this mean?
Jesus, as the Avatar incorporating the Christ-Impulse,
came to replace the old tribal order
with a

new order based on Universal Love.

It is not to representatives of,
(or even to men still attached to) 'the old order'
that Jesus could reveal his spiritual, evolutionary and society-transforming status;
they had instead to reach a point where they could discover his avatar-ship -
as did Peter just before the Transfiguration scene.

But to the woman of Samaria -
who, in her openness to love's urgings,
had already repudiated any narrow subservience to the old order -
Jesus could reveal his function.

The highest meets the lowest
when this lowest is free from traditional bonds and open to love.
The creative future descends first to that which has become chaos.

An old order is never open to a new Revelation
until it has accepted disorder
in the name of that Power which subsumes all forms of order,
i.e. Love.

In this second stage of the five-fold sequence,
a contrasting element enters upon the scene.
It is no longer a collective-cultural effort based on past knowledge — as in the preceding [sabian] symbol — but a "meeting" that introduces into the collective-situation a totally new factor which transcends it.

A NEW QUALITY OF BEING is revealed which renders the old patterns obsolete.

Psyche at 19 Gemini (retrograde) - Conjunct Mars, trine Jupiter, inconjunct Pluto/Mercury/Lilith, inconjunct Saturn.

quote:
A CAFETERIA WITH AN ABUNDANCE OF CHOICES

This Symbol shows the wide range of nourishment, opportunity and the ability to have things in our modern world. There are so many choices but each has its price, so be careful what you choose. Each will nourish you, but some things are far more nourishing and sustaining than others. However, there is so much on display and available that if you don't like your first choice you can get something else - that is if you can afford it. Take what you need, enjoy it and realize the abundance that's happening in your life. Make sure that what you get is good quality as many things may not be. Overwhelming alternatives. Having one's hungers satisfied versus satiation. Everything provided. Self-service. Salivating over what's on display. Overweight. Credit cards.

The Caution: Taking everything you can regardless of needs. Inability to make decisions. So many choices. Things so near, but so far. Inability to satisfy. Being stuffed with stuff.

YEAH this is wildly accurate. I've always had a huge problem when I go shopping or 'mall browsing' haha! because I always put stuff back like 'but what if I find something else!' I think because I grew up quite money and life restricted (maybe those inconjuncts, oooh) that I learned pretty early on to take my time deciding. But that feeling of SO MANY CHOICES is often a big theme. At least for material things. Even if it's not technically available, I'm aware that there is so much- maybe too much sometimes lmao. Especially BOOKS and things to LEARN and EXPLORE, wow.

I've only recently really started putting my foot down and investing into quality items over things that will need replacing every few years- and boy is that paying off both mentally and emotionally.

PHASE 158 (VIRGO 8°): A FIVE-YEAR-OLD CHILD TAKES A FIRST DANCING LESSON.

KEYNOTE: Learning to use one's capacity for emotional self-expression according to cultural standards.

quote:
8th degree of Virgo (7° - 8°)
APPRENTICESHIP
Putting aside the ego in order to sit at the feet of a master is a requirement for self-optimisation

Dance is a way to develop and express feelings in a controlled way. It is in a community setting and so not unbridled, yet it is emotionally expressive, so not a denial of life-force. This is emblematic of the journey we must take if we are to find freedom and realisation, and typically this requires that we find a teacher - one who can show us what higher states are available to an initiate.

Virgo 8. First dancing instruction. Keywords: to learn, to develop a skill, talent, art, to teach, to assist, a friendly attitude, to establish relations, to cooperate.

quote:
Virgo 8: A Girl Takes Her First Dancing Lesson. This is an interesting degree that can show happiness, gaiety, joy and the love of being alive and it can also manifest as naivete, issues to do with learning and assimilating life's lessons, it can show the ability to dance around situations rather than facing them head on and it can be a beautiful image of lightness of being and wanting to live, love and learn.
http://sabiansymbols.typepad.com/my_weblog/2013/02/the-steps-of-the-da nce-februarys-virgo-full-moon.html

There is rather an interesting abundance of interpretations for this symbol. Some rings true some doesn't... Fundamentally, I'm not really one to adhere to what I am taught. Even if the person who teaches is considered a master of their field, I don't see the value in just imitating a skill, though I do have a talent for imitation, I want to be creative. Whether I master something or not I'll at least be doing it my way. If there is a pattern I'll deviate. If there are rigid instructions I feel stifled rather than comforted. If there is a standard I feel challenged to go outside of it.

Consequently I don't much enjoy learning skills that have a set standard or a set of rules to follow. Like learning to dance the ballet for instance, ironically... or languages, musical instruments, math... etc. I like learning things that are either pure knowledge, rather than a skill, or skills that I can learn by intuitively figuring them out on my own.

"Lightness of being and wanting to live, love and learn" certainly fits though. I live in the moment and know how to enjoy the little things in life. And I'm always learning new things and am relentlessly creative.
