I pay attention to asteroids but to be honest I am don't trust the interpretations.

I mean, someone I don't know called an asteroid "Dejanira" or "Kafka" and then I read the interpretations are based on the legend about Dejanira resp. about the person Kafka.
But who was the person who named the asteroid? Was this person a reliable psychic who saw/felt that the asteroid "Dejanira" represents victims of abuse? Did the person know the asteroid "Kafka" relates to issues about writing?
This sounds like nonsense to me. No offense.
What do you think?

IQ wrote something about this with an example based on asteroid Isis and its discoverer and his chart or transits from what I recall. I think it was on his site as well, if you follow the sig-tag links to articles. There have been posts like this before as well, but I don't know what keywords to use to best google them up.

It doesn't matter if people trust the interpretations, then it's just a matter of getting more research done to figure out what the actual ones are then if results don't seem to work? It doesn't matter if the namer was psychic or not if you go along with a view of names as if getting "channelled" or ending up as the right ones whatever the case. I got the name Keela from nowhere a few days before joining here, the name then seeming right for this all. A bit later I discovered that my asteroid Aglaja (through the Graces the common origin for where the name Keela/beauty comes from) was conjunct my actual name in my chart. Coincidence? Possible, but interesting in any case.

I personally at one stage looked a bit into whatever the name of the discoverer of asteroid 1111 was called again. What else he'd discovered and how they interacted, but I forget what it all was by now. The discoverers have tended to name the asteroids but as said, either the "right" name gets honed in on in any case or you do more research if something doesn't fit right with you? One good thing about astrology, never enough research done that you couldn't always do more.

People use mythology or the real life persons and their histories to grasp at possible interpretations for asteroids. Some agree, some don't. Same for astrology in general. I don't always agree with everything people here make Dejanira out to be when it leaves out a lot about her, so likewise there can be layers even in interpretations that someone may basically agree with but not see it entirely the same as others.

Okay, Keela, this makes sense but you follow your intuition and I strongly suspect many others don't. Asteroids were named at random in honour of famous persons. If that be the case, we should be careful about the interpretation

If fate plays a role here, then couldn't it be that the asteroids were meant to be named a certain thing so that they could be interpreted a certain way?

Another viewpoint is that the reason interpretations of anything work (planet, asteroid, fixed star, or otherwise) is because there is such a large amount of psychic energy being channeled by humans onto that body giving it the meaning that we want it to have because our own psychic energy is reflected back at us.

If you think about it, all of the planets and constellations were named in relatively random ways. Of course, one may think that those who gave the planets and constellations names were psychics, but we can never really know if that's true.
