After doing some research on this asteroid I am confused about it's meaning in synastry!
It is linked to the "death" or ending of something...
So do you see it in synastry as the end "result"? Or an actual ending?
Example: atropos conjunct asteroid union.
Ending of the relationship? Or the "union" will be the end result?
Am I misinterpreting this one?

I was just thinking about this one.I have Atropos Conjunct Osiris. It is posited right on the Sun of my Hero. When I met him, I thought that Death was imminent, I just had that feeling. Then I had a dream that he was on the beach, dealing with Death. I think he saved me from it. IP: Logged |

So you see it as "fated"?
The synastry aspect I posted earlier isn't for myself- but a chart I'm looking at. The male has venus conjunct atropos natal which then conjuncts the females asteroid union.
A fated "union"?
Or fated to end?

Atropos is one of the Three Fates so yes, it is a "fateful object". More about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moirai

Yeah, I understand.I'm new to this. You just happened to post as I was musing on it myself. I was considering another who had it on mine, and trying to come to grips with it. Atropos being the To Snip or Not To Snip sort of person here... That and Venus on a Union. That is an interesting dilemma. Hmmm I'm really new to all this...
So-
His venus 22 sag. His atropos 23 sag
Her union 23 sag
Unknown birth times so I don't know houses.
I understand its a "fated" asteroid. But trying to decide if the fated part in this case seems fated to marry? "Union"? Or since atropos represents fated "endings" meaning the union is fated to end...?

Do you personally feel that atropos means fated endings? Or just "fated"?

Well, I'm just going from personal experience here.There was certainly an ending involved, and Fate did hang in the Balance, choices were made and the dice were cast... In the end all was lost. IP: Logged |

Wow- are you ok from that happening?
I see atropos as an ending as well. A death of something (not literal) but a finality. Some seem to disagree with me and see it as a transformation or a fate so that's why the synastry aspects I posted confused me so much!

In my experience, Atropos acts like a condensed Pluto, much the same way Aphrodite acts like a condensed Venus. It seems to work in a more acute way. For example, once, someone I knew was talking about wanting to kill themselves and wanting to die. I was worried for them, and when I checked their chart, sure enough... transiting Atropos sat EXACTLY on their Ascendant. I kept them close till the transit passed and when it did, their suicidal thoughts and depression seemed to lift like a dark storm cloud just dissipating. So, in that case, Atropos was representing literal death. Sometimes, though, Atropos can just symbolize lasting transformation, like a condensed Pluto.

When I met my husband Atropos was conjuncting Saturn.When I met my ex Atropos was conjuncting my North node, karma was conjuncting my Saturn and transit Venus was conjuncting my Atropos. A new friend that I made at the gym found me on Facebook today and requested my friendship and then invited my husband and I to go hang out with him at his boat next weekend and transit Atropos is on my North node and transit karma is on my Atropos. So it seems that when two fated objects combine it appears that fated things unfold! IP: Logged |

Atropos was conjunct my natal Atropos on the day I got together with my boyfriend. My natal Atropos is conjunct my boyfriend's name asteroid in my chart too so it's possible my life of being single ends with my current boyfriend. Man, I hope so. It was odd to me to find this, because I expected Atropos to bring something bad and instead it indicated a positive ending. IP: Logged |

In an event chart important for my parents they had:
Venus conjunct Chiron on 22 Aries exact
oppospite
Uranus on 24 Libra
square
Mars on 20 Cancer
square
Atropos on 22 Capricorn
What do you think happend to them?
In the composite of my Dad`s natal with the same event he had Atropos at the end of 7th house
square
Juno in 4th house (2°17) in my Mom`s Eventcomposite she had Atropos in 5th house trine Mars (0°47)
trine Moon (1°34)
trine Sun (1°59)
all in Leo in 1st house conjunct 2nd cusp

Of course ! I have got two examples.Someone I know got divorced with his wife when his progressed Atropos was conjunct (3°orb) his wife's Sun. If I can well remember her date of birth. And I stopped being friend with someone when her progressed Sun was trine my Atropos. IP: Logged |
