JUNO has been much in demand lately. I thought this would be a good TOPIC to collect posts on. Or links and first time contributions too.

This is what I've got so far:

==========================================================================================
JUNO is the good wife archetype.

Any positive aspect between Juno and Sun, Moon or Ascendant bestows strong sex appeal.

JUNO conj ASCENDANT in synastry is a clue to an ideal relationship with balance in love, romance, care and passion. More than conjunct ASCENDANT, JUNO is conjunct TRUE NODE, making you loving Soul Mates for sure [though not Twin Flames]. Notice a "Karmic" double whammy for JUNO, his JUNO being conjunct your Saturn. Notice the exactitude of AMOR conj SUN [he can love you a lot] and EROS conj DESTINN.

JUNO conjunct DESCENDANT: Possibility of having a loving relationship dramatically increases with this aspect. (IQ, 2010)

His SOUTH NODE conjunct his JUNO conjunct her ASCENDANT, his NORTH NODE conjunct her DESCENDANT
Probability of wedding bells increases when NN conjuncts Descendant and JUNO is well aspected as above.
 (iQ)

JUNO conj JUPITER in synastry: this is a very useful Soulmate Aspect, almost as important as EROS-PSYCHE, Pluto-PROSERPINE and ISIS-OSIRIS. A shade more useful than SIVA-PARAVTI, ZEUS-HERA, RUDRA-KAALI, BRIEDE-GROOM and ADONIS-INNANEN.

MARS conj JUNO: Increased chances of great sex in a committed relationship.

However, for the Asteroids to take effect, there have to be planetary triggers. Look at 7th House and 7th House Lords, 5th and 9th House in both charts for a happy relationship.

Interestingly, SATURN-JUNO trines or conjunctions seem just as powerful as JUPITER-JUNO aspects. (iQ, 2013)

The Composite: if there is too much in Composite 6th, 8th or 12th, then Jupiter-JUNO conjunction will only give a short term relief. (This seems a bit odd - will need to check. )

Composite Juno represents the partnering and commitment energy in the relationship. When you are together what characterises your commitment to each other by sign and house? A poorly expressed composite Juno may indicate a relationship that is fraught with jealousy and control issues. A well expressed Juno will indicate healthy commitment within the relationship, an intimate bond of trust that balances sharing with respect for personal boundaries. (Taineberry, 2012)

Juno in the horoscope gives a good indication of the kind of marriage partner that we need and will get. Not the partner we think we want (those are ruled by Venus and Mars), but the one we need and actually wind up with. Let's get things straight here before we go into the details about Juno in your horoscope. Venus and Mars show what we consider to be our ideal man or woman. The 5th house describes the type of people we tend to get involved with romantically. The 7th house tells us the kind of person our first marriage partner will be (and the 9th house describes our 2nd marriage partner, if any). Juno works on a more fundamental level.

From - http://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/Juno21.3.html

=======================================================================

"Juno is the asteroid of the C-word: committed partnership.

Earlier than the classical period, Juno, or Hera in the Greek, was one of the tripartite Moon Goddesses who ruled quite alone. Her marriage to Jupiter, or the Greek Zeus, was the mythological record of her absorption into the victors’ theology. Small wonder that husband and wife are always fighting.

Where Vesta uses sexuality in a way that allows her to stay complete unto herself, Juno is after "Heiro gamos", or sacred marriage. Her placement shows more specifically than Venus’ does how one expresses the desire to be a significant other, no matter what the sexual orientation. A person with Juno in Capricorn would prefer a relatively conventional marriage; Juno in Scorpio would lead a person to place more importance on the sexual bond than on the legal aspect of union. Actual engagements and weddings and moving-in-togethers and divorces often correspond to Juno transits. Zip Dobyns finds that synastric connections of Juno make her clients think of marriage even when nothing else in the comparison would seem to indicate it.

Juno is the one among the four asteroid goddesses who represented steadfast loyalty to relationship-for-the-sake-of-relationship. It is she who offers the teaching for modern spouses trying to find ways to live as a unit without losing themselves in co-dependency. Like all the lunar deities, Juno had three facets: in this case, the maiden, the bride and the widow, which described the cyclical state of a committed union. In the myths, we see Juno and Jupiter separating for some reason, usually an infidelity of his; she goes into solitude or a wandering phase, then she bathes herself in the sacred spring, and goes right back into the relationship. This asteroid is about the natural rhythm there is in uniting with and separation from and reuniting with a mate.

It is possible to read Juno as being merely about bridal showers and couples counseling. But looking beneath this level, we find a more subtle perspective on committed partnership.

To understand the archaic inner face of Juno it may be necessary to dispense altogether with the modern term “wife”, and resurrect the ancient notion of a consort. Giving this asteroid both Scorpio and Libra rulership, ........ Juno represents the concept of a union of intimate equals: the craving to fully merge with another human being in order to find the perfect balancing of masculine and feminine energies. On a secular level, this could be seen as the mutual respect and support a happily married couple would have for one another’s work, emotional well-being and creative projects, as well as their commitment to mutual pleasure in bed. On a spiritual level it could be seen as committed lovers in meditation, exploring the psychic sharing and the raising of the kundalini life-force that transpires in conscious sex, as practiced in Eastern tantric traditions. Ultimately, Juno’s goal is not the marriage itself but the ego transcendence the marriage can offer. Though pleasure may be part of it, this kind of coupling has more to do with religious ecstasy. The union becomes a means to get beyond the separateness of the self by joining forces with another at the deepest levels–the original meaning of the heirogamos –leading to healing and spiritual consummation.

The distorted expression of Juno stems from the skewed power relationships in the institution of marriage or its facsimile.

Infidelity and the anger it inspires, jealousy and possessiveness and sexual rivalry all are potentials of dark Juno. Where there is the kind of dependency in a relationship such as the traditional wife has upon her husband, or where one partner keeps a vow of monogamy that the other does not keep, the pathology of Juno may rear its head. Greek legend is full of stories of Hera wreaking havoc on the lives of Zeus’ lovers and their children.

People in whose charts Juno is strong have a special sensitivity to the double standard, and by extension, to the underdog in relationships where there is a power imbalance, as is the case with abused children.

I was wondering if HERA has the same significance in charts as JUNO. Do people have interaspects between either JUNO/ HERA and JUPITER/ZEUS which appear to be of equal significance?

I have these in synastry, for example:

Juno square Pluto DW
Juno/Zeus DW
His Juno square my Jupiter
Juno opp Juno, his Zeus trine my Juno
Hera opp Hera, his Hera trine my Zeus/Jupiter
Zeus square Zeus

Well, since we are here, and I have a response!

I was looking at the aspects and they do appear to be interchangeable - and the oppositions seem to work like conjunctions.

I am impressed by the fact that in our synastry Juno opp Juno has a Hera counterpart - Hera opp Hera.

Interesting to see the Juno/Pluto DWs. Wonder what these indicate. Must go check Union aspects.

I do think Hera and Juno are interchangeable. I always regarded Hera as a bit more vengeful if crossed by Zeus/Jupiter.

extrapolating from iQ's comment - 'ISIS/PLUTO conjunction will have excellent sex"-

Juno/Pluto aspects probably imply the same.

I remember IQ commenting Bob Marks interpretation was a good one:

Juno Aspects Pluto: Partners will tend to be intense and secretive. Sex can be volcanic. Pluto is the planet of extremes, death, and transformation. Either your power or that of your partner will be affected by marriage. One of you is likely to be transformed in some way. The harmonious aspects (sextile and trine) can bring out a strength you never thought you had. The stressful aspects (conjunction, square, and opposition) will bring out strength too, in the form of dictatorial attitudes and power struggles. One of you will try to dominate the other. The feelings towards the partner can easily go from "I love you" to "I hate you" to "I'm obsessed with you." Even if the two of you break up, this will be the partner you never forget (for better or worse).

This is from the Astrolady:

In the natal chart, the house and sign placement of our natal Juno reveals the kind of person we are meant to marry. While Venus and Mars represent our ideal mate, Juno represents loyalty and attachment. Juno represents what we need in a mate, rather than simply who we are attracted to. Many astrologers have gone as far as to say Juno represents our true love or marriage partner.

Juno in Aries: Your partner will be fiery, direct, aggressive, and active.

Juno in Taurus: Your partner will be stubborn, stable, and physically attractive. This aspect can also indicate material prosperity after marriage.

Juno in Gemini: Your partner will be talkative, curious, and intelligent. This aspect sometimes indicates multiple marriages.

Juno in Cancer: Your partner will be sensitive, dependent, and emotional.

Juno in Leo: Your partner will be creative, egotistical, energetic, and full of life.

Juno in Virgo: Your partner will be hard-working, health-conscious, and critical. He might work in the health field.

Juno in Libra: Your partner will be attractive, loving, sociable, and well-mannered.

Juno in Scorpio: Your partner will be sexual, mysterious, and perhaps jealous.

Juno in Sagittarius: Your partner may come from a different locality or cultural background. You may meet your partner abroad. He will be philosophical, honest, and may be interested in higher learning.

Juno in Capricorn: Your spouse will be a corporate type. He might be older, and you may meet him later in your life (after your Saturn Return).

Juno in Aquarius: The partner will be original, independent, logical. You may meet through friends.

Juno in Pisces: Your partner will be dreamy, artsy, and imaginative. Make sure you don’t marry someone simply because you think he needs “help”!

When one person’s Juno is contacted by another person’s planet or point in synastry, a strong attachment is indicated. The planet person represents what the Juno person is looking for in a relationship. Indeed, Juno often figures strongly in the synastry charts of marriage couples. The conjunction and opposition are the strongest connections, while the trine and sextile are less potent, yet still effective.

Juno-Ascendant: The Juno person sees the Ascendant person as their ideal mate. The Ascendant person looks and projects herself how the Juno person envisions their marriage partner. Juno was likely instantly attracted to the Ascendant person.

Juno-Sun: The Sun person’s basic nature expresses the qualities the Juno person is looking for in a partner. The Juno person sees the Sun person as their ideal mate. It is easy for the two of them to commit to each other on a fundamental level.

Juno-Moon: The Juno person feels attracted to and comfortable with the way the Moon person expresses their emotions. It is easy for the two of them to commit to one another on an emotional level.

Juno-Venus: The Juno person’s feelings of commitment are activated by the Venus person, and the Venus person finds an ideal partner in the Juno person. The Juno person feels the Venus person is their ideal mate, and it is easy for them to commit to each other on a romantic level.

Juno-Mars: The Juno person is attracted to the sexual charisma and assertiveness of the Mars person. It is easy for these two to commit to each other sexually. This aspect increases the chances of continuing to have great sex after marriage.

Juno-Jupiter: Juno and Jupiter are natural partners for one another. The Jupiter person expands Juno’s desire for commitment and marriage, and feels she has met her match in the Jupiter person. On the downside, the Jupiter person may make the Juno person suspicious of infidelity.

Juno-Saturn: The Asteroid of marital commitment meets the planet of commitment! Juno feels safe and secure with Saturn. Saturn stimulates Juno’s desire to settle down. As such, it is very easy for them to commit to each other.

According to a study, certain Juno aspects were commonly found in the synastry charts of married couples, including: Juno conjunct North Node, Juno conjunct Juno, Juno trine Venus, and Juno trine Mars. If these aspects are not presents in the synastry chart of your and your mate, don't fret! Other Juno aspects are indicative of a potential marriage partner, as well.

For example, my sister and her fiancé have several Juno contacts in Synastry. Her Juno in Libra conjuncts his Sun and Mercury. His Juno in Capricorn conjuncts her Mars.

My mother and father (who have been married for over 30 years), have strong Juno aspects in synastry, as well. His Juno conjuncts her Jupiter (a perfect match) and opposes her Mars. Her Juno opposes his Saturn/Mars conjunction.

Angelina Jolie’s Juno is conjunct Brad Pitt’s Descendant, and his Juno trines her Venus and Saturn.

Paul Newman’s Juno is opposite Joanne Woodward’s Jupiter, and her Juno is conjunct his Venus and Mercury, and opposite his Pluto.

David Beckham’s Juno is square Victoria Beckham’s North Node and Juno.

Linda McCartney’s Juno is located in Paul McCartney’s first house, while Paul’s Juno is conjunct Linda’s Venus.

Juno in Houses/Signs and a good general link for asteroids:

http://members.wizzards.net/~magyan/asteroids.htm

Juno's other name is Hera, she is the mythological wife of Jupiter, thus Juno is often referred to as the 'marriage asteroid'. Her meanings go beyond simply marriage, though she does rule the rituals and institution of marriage, and the duties and commitment implied. She has to do with the principle of relatedness and compatibility, sensitivity to others and intimacy needs, and the individual's reactions to frustration or denial of those needs. She is also associated with the arts, and represents creative talent.

Juno in the Houses

Juno in the First:

Being in a relationship is essential to your identity and self-image. Your need is to learn how to initiate relationship encounters, how to approach others and present yourself in an appealing manner. Your most important relationships will be ones initiated by you.

Juno in the Second:

Your most important relationships are based upon material security, comfort and sexual sharing. Compatibility is generally based upon financial and sensual interdependency for you.

Juno in the Third:

Compatibility is based upon open communication for you. You may find that discussing things with your partner is how you come to grips with or understand the issues and events in your life. Important relationships will develop within an environment of verbal expression or networking.

Juno in the Fourth:

You need a comfortable and secure relationship of mutual nurturing and emotional support. This is the foundation stone for all your other activities and pursuits. The most important relationships in your life will be with those you share your home with, or close family.

Juno in the Fifth:

Your most important relationships will be with people with whom you share creativity, romance, play or the care of children. You may prefer romance to commitment. You like excitement and flair in your relationships.

Juno in the Sixth:

Your most significant relationships will likely occur within the arena of the workplace, or in some health-related service. You may share work with your mate, and value efficiency and skill in each other. You require a partner who is attentive to the details of day-to-day existence.

Juno in the Seventh:

Lifelong, intimate partnerships are a primary emphasis for you, whether they be marital, business or professional relationships. Interaction and cooperation are crucial. Your primary relationships will be marriage, partnership or other close one-to-one encounters.

Juno in the Eighth:

Your primary relationships will revolve around the issues of mutual finances, possessions, sexuality, trust and power. You thrive on intensity, and your relationships are deeply intimate and transformative, and probably intensely emotional and dramatic.

Juno in the Ninth:

This position is most likely to be "married to spirit", or be in relationships within the context of a shared belief system, such as a religion or an ashram. Shared truth and meaning is the foundation of your most significant relationships, and the need exists for mutual respect intellectually and philosophically.

Juno in the Tenth:

This placement suggests being "married to your career", or else marriage based on considerations of public acceptance or social status. Your most significant relationships will occur through your profession or career.

Juno in the Eleventh:

The foundation of your close relationships is friendship, equality and freedom. You will have relationships based upon a higher vision, and idealism is the keystone for them. Your primary relationships will be in the context of group interactions and friendships, those with whom you 'share a vision'.

Juno in the Twelfth:

You experience a quality of destiny in your relationships, the feeling that they are karmic, or cosmic in their significance, and yet defy reason in human terms. There are karmic issues being worked out in your primary connections, and suffering or victimization may be involved. Significant relationships may also occur within an institutional setting.

Juno in the Signs

Juno in Aries:

You have a strong need for autonomy in relationship, and if this need is frustrated, there may be outbursts of anger or physical reactions such as migraine headaches. May be attracted to dominant or aggressive type individuals. Loss of personal power or even identity could be a problem for you in relationships.

Juno in Taurus:

Your requirement in relationship is for material security, stability and loyalty. When these needs are not met, there can be nagging, complaining and arguments over money or sex, either by you or your partner. The partners you are most drawn to are dependable, reliable, steady and sensual.

Juno in Gemini:

You need communication in your relationships, and are attracted to very expressive and mentally stimulating partners. You also enjoy sharing a variety of activities with your mate. With this placement, you may tend to prefer multiple relationships, or feel more comfortable in friendship than in a committed relationship.

Juno in Cancer:

Your primary need in relationship is for emotional closeness and bonding, and a warm and nurturing home environment. Food may be an important factor in your pattern of sharing. Drawn to very caring and nurturing partners, there may be strong dependency, and clinging, moodiness or withdrawal when needs are not fulfilled.

Juno in Leo:

You require romance and excitement in relationships, and may extend the courtship patterns well into marriage. You want a partner you can be proud of, and one who likewise gives you admiration and attention. If you feel taken for granted, ignored or rejected, you may become selfish or egocentric, or engage in power struggles or inappropriate ways of getting attention.

Juno in Virgo:

You have high expectations in terms of daily performance and fulfillment of tasks, your relationships will likely be organized, efficient and somewhat ritualistic. You strive for perfection in all the details of life, and if the partner fails to fulfill your expectations, you tend to be critical and nit-picking. You may be drawn to a mate who is very efficient and task-oriented, or a craftsman.

Juno in Libra:

Balance and equality are your basic needs in relationship. You require a partner who will share with you in decision making and consult with you on all matters of importance. You may be especially attracted to good looks and gracious manners. If your relationship becomes unbalanced, you may respond by becoming competitive or uncooperative.

Juno in Scorpio:

Your primary relationship need is for intense emotional and sexual sharing. Deep intimacy and bonding are paramount for you. If these needs are thwarted, you can become very jealous, manipulative and controlling, using sex as a means of control. Money and its sharing may also be a strong factor in your relationships.

Juno in Sagittarius:

You look for intellectual stimulation in relationship, and a common belief system is of great importance. Education and philosophy might be the basis of your bond. You also wish to travel and explore together. If your vision is not shared by your mate, arguments and fanatic adherence to your beliefs may cause problems between you.

Juno in Capricorn:

You desire a committed, traditional and enduring union, one which may be based more on considerations of social acceptability and propriety than on emotional sharing. If you do not meet a potential mate who measures up to your requirements, you may well choose to forego marriage.

Juno in Aquarius:

You require a relationship that honors your need for personal freedom and individuality. You may experiment with unconventional forms of relating, such as open marriage or role reversals. Or you may choose to remain unattached, making friendship the basis for your close relationships, even if they include a sexual dimension.

Juno in Pisces:

You tend to seek a spiritual bond, a common faith or shared ideals in your relationship. You will be attracted to sensitive and intuitive partners. Sharing of music, poetry and spirituality in any form will strengthen your bond. When your needs are frustrated, you probably withdraw, escape into fantasy, or fall into the role of the victim, possibly suffering in silence.

Juno in the Signs

by Julie Demboski

Juno’s placement by sign speaks of the approach a woman should take in empowering herself from the inside out. Positive facets of Juno’s sign will describe how she effectively asserts herself, as well as which positive attitudes and strengths she adopts to make an impact on her world. The negative traits of Juno’s sign manifest as frustration in empowerment, and they take a decidedly destructive bent. In a male’s chart, Juno’s sign describes the traits he finds appropriate in a mate or a partner. It also symbolizes what he may complain about in a mate, when he is less than accepting of his own anima.

In a woman’s chart

Juno in Aries shows leadership potential; she’s a warrior with a purpose. Failure to embrace her innate sense of competence can show as inappropriate anger or hair-trigger temper, or a command to others to follow her lead even though her behavior may be less than inspiring.

Juno in Taurus offers stability and sustenance to others, and exhibits a facility for earning and artisanal pursuits. She’s in danger of caring too much about things, or of hoarding or competing materially.

Juno in Gemini is a networker, adept at handling and disseminating information, and in connecting others; unfulfilled energies show as gossip and an inability to stick to the subject.

Juno in Cancer, empowered, nurtures in a multitude of forms. Disempowered, one clings and manipulates through feeling.

Juno in Leo shines through the identity, acting as example and illuminator. When working the negative, this Juno is too vain to be of aid to others.

Juno in Virgo glories in the details, in organization, in the harvest; on the down side, she may nitpick and communicate only through criticism.

Juno in Libra works with others and emphasizes fairness, but when dysfunctional, she may be passive-aggressive or patently unfair (but with a pretty smile).

Juno in Scorpio finds her element in the depths of the Soul and of experience. Her negative outlet may be destruction that doesn’t discriminate.

Juno in Sagittarius is a pioneer, but always with attention to the accumulated knowledge of society. She is able to reach out intelligently to what is unusual, to educate. Her negative expression is simply running away.

Juno in Capricorn is solid, reliable, practical and organized. Others love her in part because they can rely on her. A poorly functioning Cappy Juno brings chaos wherever she goes.

Juno in Aquarius, actualized, is the intelligent innovator, while the undeveloped one rebels, whether there’s a reason to or not!

Juno in Pisces can unite, commune and inspire. In less positive form, we may see her power seated in delusion or fantasy.

In a man’s chart

Juno in Aries says he wants a mate who can take care of herself, and maybe one who’s boss — and this is his main complaint!

Juno in Taurus appreciates a mate with sensual and artisanal skills, but he may be too focused on what his mate might earn from these skills, or on how these serve his own comfort.

Juno in Gemini needs conversation with his mate to be lively, while the complaint may be of a shallow intellect or too much emphasis on socializing.

Juno in Cancer indicates he wants someone to make a home with, perhaps a partner for mutual nurturing support — or that he wants a mommy.

Juno in Leo wants someone who can ‘shine’ in her own right. In the narrow-minded, this devolves into the desire for a trophy wife.

Juno in Virgo wants a true helpmate, someone unafraid to get her hands dirty and be willing to see to the details. On the negative side, he may really want a butler and an accountant.

Juno in Libra wants a true-blue mate and ever-present harmony. In less positive manifestations, insistence on harmony may negate the individuality of the mate.

Juno in Scorpio seeks a deep and intense pairing and can make this a reality — as long as Scorp respects his mate enough not to destroy her.

Juno in Sagittarius is a living conundrum: he wants bachelorhood and a mate at the same time. Unless he’s very considerate, it’s hard to tell the positive of this from the negative!

Juno in Capricorn takes the marital relationship seriously. Taken too far, he may want to box up the mate and put her on the shelf.

Juno in Aquarius likes a free-thinker who’s not afraid to try something new. He may complain, though, when her freedom-loving Self rebels and runs wild into the night.

Juno in Pisces wants a mate who in some way offers a transcendent experience, but her otherworldly nature may irritate him to no end when it’s time to come back to earth.

Q. My Pallas and Juno in conjunction to his Venus and Eros.

A. JUNO conjunction matters a lot, it dramatically increases attraction when it aspects his Venus and Eros. He thinks you would make an excellent girlfriend or even wife.
PALLAS is more subtle, it will help you see through any illusions (using your inner eye) about his true desires.

In Draconic Synastry, Saturn and JUNO conjunct exact: absolutely proving a long lasting marriage in more than one past lifetime. (iQ)

Q. Do you find that your draconic Juno better describes what you are attracted to than your natal Juno or that your natal juno describes better what you like than your draconic juno?
A. Both are very useful.
Look for Juno aspects to Jupiter, Natal and Draconic. Even hard aspects help.

A mix of Juno and Aphrodite to Mars, Pluto or even Lust can be very tempting.

JUNO conjoint EROS - One of the best "Love Asteroid" conjunctions possible. This conjunction is as powerful as having Composite Venus on the 7th Cusp.

Q. What would be the meaning of Eros conjunct Juno at 19 and 20 Aquarius in composite on the cusp of 11/12 houses?
A. Indicates a high probability of a Loving Marriage built on newer, revolutionary and higher philosophical principles.

Natal
JUNO conjunct VALENTINE - It means you are someone who can be an exceptionally loving wife.

Thanks Morph. Very interesting to see the Hera and Zeus prominent in your charts along with Juno and Jupiter.
