Watsup everybodyIve just started getting into asteroids and i came across something pretty interesting. I wanted to know how prominent the muse asteroids were in the charts of MUSEicians, so I pulled up a few lists of "greatest musicians of all time" and started seeing what i can find. All of artists had muses aspecting significant angles or planets in the chart buut one muse stood out by far, and that was Polyhymnia. This is what I found: Michael Jackson- Polyhymnia conj Sun (exact) conj Pluto (4orb) conj Descendant (2orb) Madonna- Polyhymnia conj Asc (exact) conj Pluto (1orb) conj Mercury (3orb) sextile Neptune (exact) Elton John- Polyhymnia (exact) conj IC (2orb) opp Chiron (exact) sextile mercury (2orb) trine Asc (exact) Miles Davis- Polyhymnia conj Desc (exact) opposite Mercury (exact) con Saturn (exact) conj Moon (3orb) Whitney Houston- Polyhymnia conj Desc (exact) conj Uranus (1orb) conj Mercury (5orb) Frank Sinatra- Polyhymnia conj Asc (2orb) sextile Mars (1orb) trine Pluto (4orb) Tupac Shakur- Polyhymnia conj Saturn (exact) trine Pluto (3orb) conj Venus (5orb) [No Birth Time] Eric Clapton- Polyhymnia conj Asc (exact) opposite Mercury (exact) James Brown- Polyhymnia sextile Mars (exact) trine N Node (1orb) Steven Tyler- Polyhymnia conj Vertex (exact) sextile Venus (2orb) Kurt Cobain- Polyhymnia conj MC (exact) square Pluto (exact) square Mercury(exact) square Chiron (exact) John Lennon- Polyhymnia conj Mercury (1orb) conj Descendant (5orb) Robert Plant- Polyhymnia conj Saturn (2orb) conj Sun (3orb) sextile Mars (2orb) Sam Cooke- Polyhymnia sextile Sun (exact) Johnny Cash- Polyhymnia conj Sun (4orb) conj Mercury (4orb) trine Moon (4orb) opposite Neptune (4orb) Bob Dylan- Polyhymnia opp Chiron (exact) Elvis Presley- Polyhymnia conj Mars (3 orb) Patti Smith- Polyhymnia conj Moon (2orb) trine Mercury (2orb) Jimmy Hendrix- Polyhymnia conj Jupiter (3orb) Ray Charles- Polyhymnia conj Moon (4orb) Bob Marley- Polyhymnia trine Saturn (3orb) Buddy Holly- Polyhymnia conjunct N Node (3orb) sextile Lilith (exact) Stevie Wonder- Polyhymnia trine Uranus (3orb) trine Saturn (4orb) [Loose grand trine] Bruce Springsteen- Polyhymnia conj Sun (5orb) sextile Chiron (exact) Prince- Polyhymnia conj Uranus (5orb) sextile Sun (2orb) Neil Young- Polyhymnia trine Saturn (2orb) conj Sun (6orb) Janis Joplin- Polyhymnia conj Moon (3orb) John Lennon- Polyhymnia trine Vertex (exact) conj Saturn (4orb) sextile Chiron (3orb) Billy Joel- Polyhymnia trine Mars (exact)
I ran through them pretty quickly and only looked for the obvious aspects. Polyhymnia showed up in 9/10 of their charts. Anybody have any info on this asteroid???

Not sure 4* is really significant with asteroids ...especially with the slower planets... But it conj my Ceres exact which trines Jupiter by 2*...which pulls it into trine-by-association perhaps with my IC which is trine jupiter by 2 and ceres by 4... Ceres is a bit of a cross at this point between "minor" planet and asteroid...astronomers call her a dwarf planet these days like Pluto. . My father was a musician w his sun on my IC...And I have been both amateur and professional musician myself. IP: Logged |

That's really cool about Piani. I saw another member on LL made a thread about it being prominent in their chart and that of other pianists. Asteroids are really fascinating! IP: Logged |

Hellooo to you, The Observer! I looked up the charts for each celebrity you've mentioned (but didn't check asteroids). I was ready to post astro dot com biog-urls but ran out of time today. I'd be willing to post the {LIST} here if anyone would like? I go research-crazy sometimes and I'm astounded at what I've found today. So surreal!... "Guitar asteroid?" How about asteroid Gibson 2742
I've got stories about my Polyhymnia, and Piani! wow, thanks. Add these too~~ Melpomene 18 (voice, theatre) and Euterpe 27 (giver of delight through music) IP: Logged |

Good one mirage! I thought of gibson but it reminds me of a particularly obnoxious teacher lol so I went for the whole range. Guetard in a french accent sounds so like it I just ran with it.I'd forgotten euterpe then there is Kalliope (22) the chief muse of poetry and song IP: Logged |

[QUOTE]Originally posted by Catalina: [B]Not sure 4* is really significant with asteroids ...especially with the slower planets... I disagree, if I check 50 charts and it's within 7 degrees in 50 of them it's still pretty trippy. I found a few consistent patterns with orbs like those. I find that a lot with aspects of all types', especially complete shapes being consistent in charts but some aspects being a bit wide. Some other things i saw were a lot of Sappho and lilith aspects IP: Logged |

Well Observer thanks for that...I have been being extremely cautious calling some contacts conjunctions because the given wisdom is that asteroid orbs need to be v tight. But that puts my namesake Hekate on my MC (orb 4.5) which makes perfect sense to me! Also other significant asteroids that seemed evident observationally but not in theory. IP: Logged |

Run with it Catalina. I like to fit astrology into how I perceive my reality as whole, and not the other way around. For a few years it was like tryna fit my foot in a shoe that's too small. The way I see it is that all these bodies In The cosmos are inside of us, as above so below, that way everything becomes important. The more attuned you are to yourself the more you can feel he more subtle aspects. Even it's something's at 161 degrees' it will always be in a relationship with every other body out there, these labels of aspect kinda box it in and. Give a false image of what's really going down. Labels are deceiving like that. Like Ceres for example. I think everything nasa shows us about it (about mostly everything lol) is a lie. If it is what I think it is, then the role it plays within us makes it as important as a personal planet to me. How would we know if the moon of a random planet was responsible for a random energy within us if we were in the confines of these minor details. We're shutting a lot of possibilities. From what I learned when your dealing with 360 degrees your dealing with a disc. When we're looking at a chart we're literally running a disc in our brain, and to extract all of the information on it we have to use our complete mind not just our conscious one, and one of the conduits our minds speaks to us through is imagination. So intuition and dreams become a part of this whole thing now cus that's when you really begin to play the disc you know what I mean. Trust me, I always go with consistinency, and the orbs I see coming up all the time just reinforce that astrology isn't a cold left brained science. Gotta be whole.

Tho not considering it "officially" I have always identified w it as a conjunction...and having Viviane exactly conj IC have always considered the meridian axis a matching pair (well since starting w asteroids some 6 years ago)...the two sides of my sorceress/priestess energy. But that is another thread lol Totally agree about ceres IP: Logged |
