I once read that Ceres was like the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter, all rolled into one. That sounded really nice, especially since I have it conjunct my Mercury, Sun, and Chiron.

I then read, several years back, that Ceres also has a very painful side to it, concerning loss and children (going with the mythology).

How have people here seen it play out in their charts?

I like Ceres.
I know that she might be associated with loss as well in mythology.
But so far I experience her as very warm, very nurturing, very caring.

however she does care SO much about whatever she touches, she might get a little posessive and adamant in her attempt to protect her loved one (aka "mother knows it best"), and in these instances she could get a little suffocating.
but to me she is the female protection symbol in its purest form.

Interestingly I have found Ceres-Pluto-aspects in passionate synastries come up quite often.

my own Ceres is in Pisces in 3rd house,c onjunct Jupiter and Pholus (and squaring NN-Neptune-ASC and sextile Venus-Isis-Osiris and quinkunx Pluto).

I know I can get a little overprotective when it comes to my pupils, sometimes so far that I feel like ending up protecting them from their own parents occasionally, especially verbally!
and it probably should be the other way round. lol

i find it funny though, but I find that next to the very introverted little girls, it is mostly the brashest, most difficult boys who seem to be pulled to me, and in fact they are usually behaving a lot better than with other teachers. I must have some sort of calming influence on them (but I do not mince words with them either; if they misbehave, I tell them, but make sure they know I criticize their behaviour, telling them how it affects me personally and what it is that makes it difficult behaviour, but that I like them as person as a principle. It often helps).

Thanks, Ceri. I think I can see the conjunction in your third, with Jupiter - you do come across as warm and calm. Non-judgemental.

I asked this elsewhere, and someone mentioned food issues, which is appropriate for me (6th house Ceres). I don't know where my brain is at times - I didn't think to look to Ceres when I started having this stomach issue.

I like Ceres too. Over possessive, maybe, but I see it more as all out for her loved ones...she literally went to hell and back to get Persephone and negotiated with the God of the Underworld in the meantime.

I have her on Venus trine Jupiter and IC/Vivian...I too will not shrink from protecting my loved ones

though if they leave of their own accord that is their decision so over-protective may fit but not possessive...

I have ceres in 5th house in scorpio conjuncting my uranus, it's tirining MC, AC, jupiter, sextiling IC, Venus and Desc

I read that ceres in scorpio feel nurtured by sex... I didn't see that in me.
But yes the fifth house activity give me sens of completion, Like everything is where it should be

If somebody's Ceres is 0 degree in their chart along with Neptune does that really make a diff since they r asteroids?

Ceres is now officially a minor planet...a major goddess and, I thinkn very powerful.

Both Ceres and Pluto are now considered to be "dwarf planets."

Ceres is the largest object in the asteroid belt and was discovered in 1801; Pluto was not discovered until more than 100 years later, in 1930.

I always use at least the first 4 "asteroids," (Ceres, Pallas, Juno, and Vesta) because (1) they are all dwarf or minor planets, (2) they were all discovered between 1801 to 1807 so have been known to humanity for longer than Neptune and Pluto, and (3) and most importantly, they give feminine power and influence to an otherwise male-dominated zodiac.

Anyone who ignores these planets is ignoring a lot of important astrology IMO.

Ceres in Gemini, 9th house.
Sextile Sun and trine a BML-Panacea conjunction.
Quintile my Descendant
Biquintile Pluto
And some minor aspect to my Moon. Some reports say it's a quincunx, but that's with a very wide orb. Aspect is 146/154 degrees.
Same thing with Astro saying it's square Mercury... again with a really wide orb (5 degrees). Should I ignore that one?

Nurturing through long conversations, yeah, I do that a lot. I like this one. Love the aspect to my Descendant, too, since I do think reaching out to others seems to work out well for me often, especially when someone's not feeling well or is having problems. Then with Pluto, I admit I can be quite clingy to others and in how I relate to them. Losing someone I love seriously feels like something precious is being ripped away from me against my will.
