So I would encourage you to look at the myth of Chiron, and after understanding the myths create your OWN meaning based on what has been written about Chiron.Chiron was a Centaur and the son of Cronos (Saturn) and a nymph Philyra. Cronos wanted Philyra, but she did not return his feelings. To avoid Cronos and his advances, she turns herself into a horse. However that did not stop Cronos and Philyra became pregnant with his child. She birthed Chiron, half man/half horse. She rejects Chiron though, actually they both do. Now Cronos is the father of the gods, he is Zeus's father, he is a Titan. So Chiron would carry some of that lineage within himself. There is a timeless wisdom to his energy, mixed with wounding from his birth story.
Centaurs were known for being wild and reckless. They are often recalled as being savages, totally crazy living off the grid in the mountains and the wild. Not Chiron. He was known for his wisdom and his intelligence. He integrated himself into the world of Olympus. He was prophetic and peaceful. He was the teacher of the Gods. He was not like his kind, he was different.
The legend goes, that Hercules was visiting Pholous (who is also a Centaur). Pholus held the sacred wine of the Centaurs. Hercules was thirsty, and after some clever persuasion he encourages Pholous to open this wine. When the bottle opened, the Centaurs could smell/sense it's release. So here come these wild savage man/beasts. They came to Pholous and Hercules. Chiron was also present, and a battle took place. Hercules would not be defeated, however in his battle he wounded Chiron by accident with an arrow that was dipped in the blood of the Hydra. Now because Chiron was immortal this poison would not kill him. However, the wound would not heal. He relinquishes his immortality, gifting it to Prometheus. He is honored in the stars.
Translated Chiron or "Kheiron" is derived from the word "kheir" for hand. It means "skilled with the hands". To me, Chiron is a blend of wounding but is a VERY strong teaching energy. I think the teaching aspect is often not given enough credit.
So to break this myth down, here are Chiron's key words: prophecy, skilled, peace, where we are different from our kind, sacrifice, deep wounds, childhood wounds, wisdom, teaching, teaching through wounding, where we feel rejected, where we bring wisdom through rejection.
Now take the 6th House areas: Health, where we are willing to work at something, work in general, daily dealings. I like this description:
"On one hand it represents our mundane world of work, employment, servants, health, diet, nutrition, stress, coping with stress, analysis, exercise, taking responsibility for your efforts, worry ,inner restlessness, general insecurity, internally generated rejection, co-workers, dependents, faithfulness, allegiances, devotion, and the healing process, are all things mirrored in the 6th house. It rules the quality of your health and your physical well being. Workaholics have heavy 6th house placements, feeling that they have to work harder to gain recognition and acceptance. hypochondriacs have heavy sixth house placements, as well as health conscious fitness freaks. The 6th house tells us all about your eating disorders and your food preferences. Organization and the ability to be organized as well as your feelings about work in general. Any planets in a house strengthen or weaken it. Making it more or less significant according to your birthday and your particular natal birth chart."
Now try to make connections between Chiron keywords and 6th House areas, including the moon. The moon is going to bring and emotional aspect to this. It's going to bring up issues of security as well.
Now Chiron, being a faithful devoted teacher/worker/wounded person connects rather well with 6th house energy. Here in the 6th house is our area of devotion, where we work, and our overall health. Insecurity and internally generated rejection? Well there's some Chiron symbolism. Now link up the moon and your emotional wounding is being illuminated. Your emotional health is coming into play, and you are being asked to look at it. Chiron wants to teach, and brings with it a wisdom attained through wounds. Chiron was rejected from birth. Where have you felt rejected emotionally in your past? He was also vastly different from his own kind. Chiron speaks ot where we are different from the "norm" as well. Not in a Uranian way, but in a "wiser" more "developed" way. Now I would say you can heal others, I do think that is true. You can serve others as well by teaching them from your own wounding. This speaks to someone who is very devoted, you bring a wisdom to areas of health and mundane service. I would say at work you are someone who people feel they can rely on. 6th house ruled by Virgo, Virgo energy is going to express itself well here because it rules this house naturally. Some people say Chiron is the natural ruler of Virgo (although I'm not too sure), so if you look at it that way, you have natural expression of virgo energy and Chiron is naturally facilitating this. Wisdom through wounding.
Hopefully this helps, but I encourage you to take the symbolism and keywords, placing them together in a way that makes sense.
