I read you said somewhere that Nessus conjunct another person's ascendant means they WILL abuse you. I have to say, I don't know if I buy the black and white approach to this aspect, but I appreciate your bluntness.

I am concerned. I was abused by someone whose Nessus conjuncts my Ascendant from my twelfth house. My baby's ascendant is at 3 degrees Libra, and her daddy's Nessus is at 6 degrees Libra=/ Since he and I were born the same year, My Nessus is also in her first house, but not conjunct her ascendant.

He adores her and does his very best to take care of her. He is a very loving man and I cannot see him abusing her in any way. But with my past, seeing this aspect between them was very unsettling. Do you stand by what you said? Should I be concerned SOLELY because of this aspect? Like I said, he has never demonstrated any abusive behavior towards her...but then again she is only 9 months old now.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. Thank you!

I'd just like to step in and say NESSUS never guarantees abuse. That's all dependent upon the maturity level of the individual involved.

NESSUS is the seat of a kind of power drive; on the one hand, we have the means to help others transcend and go beyond the mundane -- like Nessus ferrying across the Styx into Hades. We can bring change and enlightenment.

Or, if we can't handle power, we'll operate from a position of fear, tending to abuse in our need to dominate and control. Some simply cannot handle power, and either go mad with it or are conversely too uneasy and act out.

If your child's father is a mature and responsible adult who knows the true value of love and can handle power, I wouldn't worry in the least. If he isn't you might be mindful of the downside of NESSUS and its behaviours.

Well, I have this dilemma many, many, many times. The dilemma is between myself, who likes to be very direct and call things as I see them and other people who like to put fluff on things.

If anyone comes to me with a Nessus conj an ASC in Astrology, I would say there would be abuse.

What is one to do if one is related to the person? In those cases, I would turn to God who can overcome the charts because the charts are of the earth and God is of the spirit.

That would be my answer, my Friend.

But many times there isn't, Ami. I apologise, but in all honesty, it's hardly fluff. I tell things as I see them, too. In my practise, and my astrology.

Many, many times, NESSUS in tight synastric aspect does not yield abuse. I wondered why this is the case, so I've studied the many individuals whose charts in which it appears. iQ provided excellent insight as to why, and I formed the theory in regards to how we process and treat power.

There is a danger in such black-and-white thinking when it comes to advising clients who have such aspects. You don't want to prime the individual to anticipate abuse where there isn't, nor won't be. That's creating paranoia.

I have an exact NESSUS square ASCENDANT in synastry. 0º15. Our relationship is the very antithesis of abusive. He's supportive and constantly trying to be the best version of himself he can be in all situations.

For me, it makes sense. Like me, he knows how to handle power effectively.

I do Astrology the way *I* like it done and I am not for everyone. I have started to be able to tell the people who are not right for me and I refund their money at the very beginning.

That's very responsible. If I recall, you're rather new, relatively-speaking, to astrology, somewhat?

Thank you both so much for your answers! I appreciate you taking the time. It's something I was concerned about.
