I'd say this is true, as far as the causes I am drawn to. I've never been involved in furthering a cause in a hands on way, but I've contemplated the idea of volunteering at women's shelters, suicide and rape hotlines, and I HATE racism. It is still far too prevalent, and it enrages me.
What about the rebellious/jealous side of lilith? Is that something that the world would be able to see? I ask because I can be a deeply jealous person, and that is something I'd prefer to keep to myself haha.

Today I was leaving my apartment complex to exchange something. As I passed the apartment office, I looked over and saw a girl, probably just a little older than me. I sort of smiled at her just as a casual friendly greeting, and before I knew it she was waving me down. I thought maybe she wanted to tell me she saw something wrong with my car, but when I rolled my window down, she said, "Can I use your phone? It's an emergency."

I said yes, but got out of my car just to make sure she didn't run off with it. She made a call and quickly said something in a different language. I noticed she was only wearing one shoe, and even in the south it's pretty cold out. She had mascara smudges around her eyes and she looked really disheveled. After she got off the phone, I asked her if she needed anything...food, water, a pair of shoes...I offered to let her come to my apartment for awhile. She said no, but asked me to just stay with her for awhile. She kept saying she how scared she was and that she just needed me to stay with her.

I did. After a few awkward moments of just standing there with her, she started crying quietly. I asked if she was alright, but she didn't answer, so I went up and hugged her. We just stood there for a little while after that, and she finally told me that she was escaping from her husband who beats her. She told me how he gets drunk and beats her every time. He promises not to do it again, but he always does. She told me that I looked trustworthy, and that's why she had waved me down. We stood there for about half an hour and she told me all about her husband and thanked me over and over again, telling me how much I was helping her. I asked her repeatedly if she needed anything and offered to let her into my apartment to get warm, but she refused. "Please just stay with me," she would say. She told me to give her my number when she left so she could contact me.

When her sister got there I helped her put her suitcase in the car and left her with my number. We said goodbye to each other and I haven't heard from her yet. It felt SO good to help someone in need, especially someone trying to escape an oppressive situation with a man like that.

I'm sharing because this event was just so incredibly random, it had to make me wonder if it was fated. If something about my prominent lilith made me seem like someone who would help her, even just looking at me from a distance. It also made me feel so good to help her, I definitely think it would be good for me to find some kind of job helping battered women, or at least volunteer somewhere.

Just seemed very lilith-y kind of thing to happen. I wanted to share=)
