Hello Aurora, listen:
Nessus= BAD

I mean you can have Saturn issues, Pluto issues,Chiron issues, crazy Lilith contacts.
But Nessus is a nasty unmanageable one.

Absolutely not true.

NESSUS is a wonderful influence when properly harnessed in an evolved individual. Deeply transformative, unafraid to pioneer new, innovative solutions, and take risks for total healing.

I'm really growing tired of NESSUS constantly being deemed negative, abusive, and dangerous. It just isn't true. There's SO much more than this oversimplification.

Bear in mind, too, that NESSUS moves very slowly. If there's a wide age gap here, it might be relevant. But everyone born around this person's birthdate will share this with you.

Sure but the ASC varies widely with the hour of birth so if the Nessus conjunction is EXACT to that girl's ASC I would be paying attention to it.

I've never seen a good thing coming out of Nessus, I felt it in my skin so I would appreciate you don't cal people's experiences oversimplifications.

When I don't experience a certain situation I refrain from comment.
So if I do comment, I have a good reason.

Good evening

Other thing that seriously irked me: if the age gap is big then Nessus is bad.
You need to decide if Nessus is good or not in ALL situations of Nessus conj ASC

This seems like an excuse to judge people on relationships with a certain age gap. It's hypocritical.

If it's two 20yo it's good Nessus, if we have a 20yo person with a 40yo. God forbid! Bad Nessus

I have Nessus conjunct my Mars...I'm a very kind person with a big heart. BUT Nessus is a beast! It takes the right stroking and Nessus will come out. For me, it took a ton to awaken him and I think for most ppl with good intentions and big hearts it would take a lot of abuse to make them fight back using Nessus energy(my Nessus is RX so mine wakes up after I've endured a lot of abuse)
I have had my Nessus exact someone's AC before....I was never mean to him. Had I allowed him to hurt me I'm sure Nessus would have woken up eventually because the pressure is on that spot with an exact conjunction. The only person who ever woke up that beast in me had his mars sitting on my Nessus...and he was very abusive to me.

My point is, it depends on the person. I would think many ppl don't have the willpower to prevent Nessus from trying to hurt someone else esp if their Nessus is direct. But some will have that will power and Nessus won't hurt anyone. In these ppl Nessus energy is a powerful energy that can be put to use to do good. But in others, it's just mean!

In leo, Nessus will attack the persons ego. He will attack in an effort to destroy her ego if acts on Nessus energy. He will use her as his stepping stool to prop his ego up on...she will be his throne to sit on. Watch out for emotional attacks meant to make her feel stupid, pathetic, worthless and small.

Everybody is nice until they snap. And off course is not the Nessus person's fault! It's those bad annoying people that provoked them. I'm being ironic here.

We are all provoked in life. Our actions are exclusively our responsability no matter how bitchy others are. Don't justify your nessus because I don't justify flaws in my chart. I know what they are, and what I'm capable off because of them.

Saints are dead, we're alive real people. I really hate all this sugarcoating of red signs in charts. It's incredible irresponsability.

Nessus is a negative potential. Period. I don't care what people do with it, I wouldn't associate myself with people with certain configurations.

Whether you like it or not, I'm dead honest. People say they're so sweet or whatever and might have issues coming out they don't even realise or WORSE they just don't admit they have them.

I was born into the bowels of negative potential. I was literally swallowed by it and spat out into adolescence.

Without giving you a sermon, it is suffice to say that all negative energy can be transformed. Just as positive can be used for negative, e.g. manipulation.

That is solely your experience, Soltze. In the scientific community, we call it 'anecdotal evidence', and it isn't relevant to research. Thus, we cannot say, based upon a few experiences, that NESSUS is a negative influence. In fact, many other incidents of anecdotal evidence have said the total opposite.

On the other hand, I've seen wonderful things come from NESSUS, as well as tragic. You can't oversimplify. Really, there's no better word for it, and I apologise if this bothers you.

:: applause :: My thoughts exactly, Voix. Yes. Nessus energy is not for the faint of heart. It's a powder-keg. But it has as much potential energy to create and rebuild as it does to destroy.

I'm often flabbergasted how much this logical fallacy is used to support bogus claims. When fact disproves hypothesis, the theorist asserts the individual's perception is what's at fault, rather than reevaluating their initial stance. It happens constantly in circumstances where something can neither be proven nor disproven with equal satisfaction.

I would advise we all be very, very cautious when playing the 'I'm honest, and sorry if you don't like it' card.

First off, because it's inherently dishonest. You're asserting an opinion as fact, and, further, not genuinely apologetic. This is nothing more than a passive-aggressive barb; we really should all refrain from using them. Yes, myself included.

Secondly, asserting as truth that which is disproven, or simply conjecture which contradicts another's experience, is borderline gaslighting, should we continue to persist that 'we're honest, and they're wrong, and they just can't take the truth.' Gaslighting is emotional abuse. We really, really don't want to be doing this to each other.

There are a bevy of reasons why someone will adopt an all-or-nothing point-of-view, and I'm not going to hazard a guess. Suffice it to say, deep emotional pain is involved, and there's a wound that's resulted. This black-and-white approach has protected the individual from further pain (as well as other types of intimacy, in most cases) and is continually used as a defence, for these reasons.

Something I have observed in individuals with strong NESSUS is that they are not dissuaded by abstract constructs (societal dictates, or even emotional concerns) in the pursuit of acquiring that which they desire. This is tragic in the hands of an abuser who will stop at nothing to obtain the object of desire, which has become dehumanised in the process, in most cases. But it can be the only saving grace for a therapist who regularly works with clients in the habit of 'lying to themselves' and dissociating from the objective truth they know. In this way, it can be the difference between success (honesty and intimacy) and failure (further perpetuated lies and detachment).

In my experience and research, NESSUS is merely a tool, and one that can be used to great effect if done so properly, and absolutely devastating if employed for abuse and destruction.

I never knew much about it other than what a few people have said, mostly Ami.

However, I just read the Mythology of Nessus AND personal stories from Astrologers, as well as examples in Celebrities charts. (natal and transit)
This is what I took away from it all:

Nessus can indicate abuse and extreme hardship; being tricked.
However, in the end there is positive outcomes, even if not so obvious, and opportunity for personal growth. If you don't look for them, you may miss them. It's not the type of thing where you get in a car accident and end up with a nicer car. It can be unseen, even to you, unless you look at how you've benefited or been given opportunity. It takes a more in-depth view. Viewing what you gained through loss.

The worst, abusive relationship of my life had her Nessus conjunct my Dejanira, my Nessus opposite her Mercury (Which is Rx), and Uranus.
At it's peak of abuse, transit Nessus (Rx) was conjunct her Dejanira.

It changed my outlook on relationships when it came to myself. It caused me to set higher standards, accept less that I don't like(I'm a self-sacrificer by nature). Was much more patient and picky about entering relationships. Having seen the worst side of relationships, I know how good I have it. I know better what needs to be let go of and what's really worth fighting about.

(Interesting side note - my progressed Sun and Moon were conjunct and BOTH changing signs!)

My point is. Years later, I still feel like I went through an acid bath, which took the tarnish off and here I am. Feeling shiny and new. I'm tearing up right now thinking about it all. I'm very blessed.

This is a good perspective.

I would strongly suggest that the entire Natal Chart be studied of the individual whose Nessus conjuncts your Ascendant. If he has an afflicted Mars as well as Moon, then the probability that he will bring out the negativity of Nessus than its strength is just too high even for a Leo Sun, and thus jumping into an intimate relationship too quickly would be risky.

Study the Eyes, check if the eyes smile along with the mouth, study the levels of empathy, look for consistency in statements and look for sudden change in temper. Over a period of time if there is no drastic mood swing or inconsistency, only then IMHO is it safe to try out a relationship.

Especially evaluating the capacity for empathy, I agree, is not only optional, but crucial.

Excellent perspective. Yes! It can be tremendous personal growth, and should help us get to the core of what matters most -- even if it forces us to fight for it. In these cases, it often does. But once we've raised our standards and are more aware of what we want, as well as need, then we're more liable to attract THAT into our lives, rather than its opposite.
