I know that some people swear by them, and I would love to think that they have an important impact because my asteroid placements are very favorable for my chart considering almost all of the 9 traditional planets have mostly stressful aspects. That being said, I remember reading somewhere that between 1980 and 2000 somehow the solar system was closest to the asteroid belt that it's been in a long time. Idk where that source of information came from though and I wish I knew!! If anybody can shed some light on this, please do tell.Anyways, the reason I'm asking is because Asteroids have only recently been discovered and used in astrology. How do we know that the descriptions are valid? The ancients studied the planets from the Sun up to Jupiter and those descriptions and their effects are rather broad. However the descriptions of all of the asteroids are VERY specific and almost always relate to few aspects of human life. It seems like astrologers used up all of the important aspects of human life on the 9 traditional planets and now we are just scrounging for interpretations of what the asteroids mean, if anything. Good example. (this next thing I say isn't news to me.. But.. I thought I'd share..) My Mom's 'Child' is at 2 Degrees Virgo.. My DNA is at 1 Degrees Virgo.. And, my Draconic 'Child' is also at 1 Degrees Virgo. IP: Logged |

Because they are smaller, naturally the orb is smaller, but the energy is more precise and narrowly focused, as well. IP: Logged |

So....I checked this out & couldn't find a single correlation between the degrees. I checked everyone from my immediate family & my mom & dad's DNA asteroid both make square aspects to my sun sign/moon sign. The DNA asteroid in my chart has only challenging aspects & creates a grand square in my chart. IP: Logged |

How do we know that the asteroid descriptions are valid?By their names. If their names are based on mythological lore, all you need to know is the myth behind that particular name to understand the asteroid you are interested in. Let's say we put aside mythological based asteroids. Check out the asteroid that bears your given name. Look up its placement in your chart, and in synastry and composite charts of loved ones. You will be amazed at what you see. IP: Logged |
