Topic: Daphnis and Chloe - a story with happy end

this story was mentioned in the adoption thread, and I was just so touched by the fact that there is a mythological pair with an actual happy end. 
"aphnis and Chloe is the story of a boy (Daphnis) and a girl (Chloe), each of whom is exposed at birth along with some identifying tokens. A goatherd named Lamon discovers Daphnis, and a shepherd called Dryas finds Chloe. Each decides to raise the child he finds as his own. Daphnis and Chloe grow up together, herding the flocks for their foster parents. They fall in love but, being naive, do not understand what is happening to them. Philetas, a wise old cowherd, explains to them what love is and tells them that the only cure is kissing[2] They do this. Eventually, Lycaenion, a woman from the city, educates Daphnis in love-making. Daphnis, however, decides not to test his newly acquired skill on Chloe, because Lycaenion tells Daphnis that Chloe "will scream and cry and lie bleeding heavily [as if murdered]."[2] Throughout the book, Chloe is courted by suitors, two of whom (Dorcon and Lampis) attempt with varying degrees of success to abduct her. She is also carried off by raiders from a nearby city and saved by the intervention of the god Pan. Meanwhile, Daphnis falls into a pit, gets beaten up, is abducted by pirates, and is very nearly raped. In the end, Daphnis and Chloe are recognized by their birth parents, get married, and live out their lives in the country.[2][3]"

I think it`s close enough. Though of course there is also the sad story about Daphne and Apollo. But it doesn`t quite faze me to use her a) as a nymph, trying to escape Apollo
b) and a youth, in love with Chloe No and I does not worry me AT ALL, that that means I am using the same asteroid for different genders. I am daring like that.  IP: Logged |

oh I have not even checked them.
LOL need to do that now, I had been writing from work actually.DAPHNE on 11 Cancer, exactly on the 8th house cusp, and most recently conjunct pr DESC, which has just progressed to 12 Cancer. lol CHLOE on 25 Aquarius conjunct PSYCHE on 24 Aqua, which seems rather fiting to me. BTW Daphne is in the same sign as my EROS, but 10 degrees away. lol
Well DAPHNE-CHLOE are sesisquare: 0°53
and yeah, as I see it there is a widish Thor`s Hammer with Pluto. Pluto square DAPHNE 2°34

Ok, ok, have fun deluding yourself  I'm grateful that you mentioned this asteroid though. For some reason I was convinced that it was Echo who was trying to escape Apollo -_-Btw, my Daphne exactly conjunct HIS Sun

Awe thanks for bringing them out Ceri!! I love this story!
They are included in my "asteroid couples" thread but I don't think many ppl are using them.....which kind of surprised me. Thanks for mentioning them maybe now they can get some appreciation for their story! There are a lot of stories in that "asteroid couples" thread of lesser known couples I wish ppl would investigate more, others have added some towards the end that I need to look into more also. Maybe the angularity of it means that this myth somehow applies to you more personally than to many others. Oh and btw your ASC is on my 12th house cusp on 21 Scorpio exact.
And I do have PENELOPE On 21 Scorpio opposing ODYSSEUS on 21 Taurus. lol
oh and your SN is conjunct my name asteroid TO THE MINUTE.

I think you might be right. it almost seems that I embody Daphnis's features/qualities/myth and my partners those of Chloe. Very, very interesting indeed! :need to read more on the topic: quote:
