Considered by the ancient Greeks to be the most important of virtues, sophrosyne is the quality of restraint displayed by those who are gracious, thoughtful, humble-- moderate in all things... the antithesis of that dreaded quality, hubris (Hybris)-- over-confidence, blind egoism, bragging, pride...Dike, or Justice, was touted as antidote to Hybris, or in some tellings, as a result of Hyrbis-- the necessity of Justice was as a result of hubris...

Where do they fall in your chart? Can you find energy for the antidote to Hybris in the point where you find Sohprosyne? Does Dike keep your Hybris in check somehow? My Sophrosyne is conjunct my Mars at 1 Aries--which I deeply appreciate (I'm always considering how to temper my impulses such that they are not hurting anybody, etc)... However, my Hybris is conjunct my Vertex and this is felt. I also have some auspicious planets conjunct my Vertex--but it's certainly a mixed bag, and difficult at times to resist the upwelling of Hybris in various situations... IP: Logged |

So I have HUBRIS on 19 Leo in 8th house, exact on my CUPIDO.
SOPHROSYNE is on 14 Sagittarius in my 1st house, without too tight aspects (within one degree), however it is opposing my KARMA on 16 Gemini.
DIKE however is interesting. on 7 Taurus in 5th house, conjunct my Eros/Psyche-mp and Part of Marriage by just 8 minutes of orb, and is part of a Kite-formation including
DIKE 7 Taurus LILITH 6 Virgo
HEKATE 8 Virgo Venus 6 Cap
OSIRIS 7 Cap
ISIS 8 Cap TARA 6 Cancer ISHTAR 8 Pisces
HORUS 8 Pisces
PHOLUS 6 Pisces
DIKE is also conjunct LUCIFER, which I find interesting, as he to me is the epitome of Hybris.

Oh yes Dike ties those stelliums together in the Kite pretty nicely... Lucifer and Dike! That is interesting... I guess maybe you're more able than most to temper Luciferian qualities? I'm going to go check on my Lucifer and Tara placements now... hadn't before.. IP: Logged |

Well, Tara at 21 Leo squares my Sun exact at 21 Scorpio, and Lucifer is almost opposite Tara at 19 Aqua. Cool synchronicity, to learn about them and find this T-Square.IP: Logged |
