Astrologically, Altjira seems to indicate cold, indifferent, withdrawn, distant, non-involved, uncaring, focused on the big picture; oblivious to reality; creation, dreaming, envisioning, imagining, having to do with indigenous and prehistoric tribes and knowledge, making vision reality, operating on a non-material level, the supernatural, spirits or ghosts, psychic phenomena.

Altjira was the central god of a sacred era called the Dreamtime. The Aboriginal people believe that every person essentially exists eternally in the Dreaming. It was named after the creation deity of the Aranda (Arrente, Arunta, Arranta) Aboriginal people from Australia's Northern Territory. Altijera brought the universe into being by dreaming it...something the Aboriginals term Dreamtime. Then, it is said, he retired to the sky, seemingly indifferent to the earthly plane, leaving further work to be done by the lesser gods who remained behind. His name is connected with their word meaning "to dream".
The Aranda believe that there are two kinds of reality. There is the everyday linear, objective activity, and then there is the creative, spiritual Dreamtime, which they believe is more real then waking reality.
It is said that Altjira is willing to help anyone tho asks and who is willing to work with the dreamtime.

I like the dream related meaning and yes we do create reality.
I wonder what the asteroid was doing aspect wise in my chart way back when I studied Eckankar and the like, lucid dreaming,etc. When I first got on Web in like 98 I posted some of my most vivid dreams from past on a site for that,, turned out I already knew what they meant.

Anyway, mine is on 18 Aries conjunct Chiron on 20 Aries.

LOL Tr Altjira is on 9 Gemini and hence conjunct my SN and heading back to my DESC on 7 Gem.

I've said before that I have healing dreams; maybe everyone does. But I can remember turning points in my life, where I went to sleep depressed and woke up changed.

Altjira quincunx Juno; ex-soulmate's sun tightly conjunct my Juno. Dreams of him are amongst my most vivid, and take a wrecking ball to my waking life for many hours afterwards.

But interesting one nevertheless.

My ALTIJRA is conjunct MR Sag`s and my composite CHARIKLO by only 0°25, and our composite SN (2°28) and of course it is conjunct my own Chiron (1°19) and PHOINIX (1°22).

my ALTHIJRA - composite Chariklo (the one bringing healing by bridging gaps or even abysses in some ways - at least that is how I view her), being on the same degree
the 19th degree of Aries (18-19),

Our composite Altijra is on 21 ARies, obviously conjunct the SN as well,

Interestingly I just noticed that our composite has Moon conjunct PHOINIX by only 8 minutes of orb.

I guess that spells about how the emotional responsiveness/ connection is reinventing itself time after time. (with Phoinix there I mean).

Of course it must be a skipped Step too, being square to the nodal axis, which has Chariklo-Altijra on the Southern end, and Mars-Amor-Cupido-Camelot on the Northern End.

Exactly. Not as bad as it used to be. In my twenties, I was always dreaming snippets of the following day. Useless things, too. Minutiae. Eventually, I realised that my head was already 'in the future' so I learnt to pull it back into the present. Now I can travel more effectively.

Altjira is also part of my massive Taurus stellium (with asteroids, no planets in Taurus).
