"What stands out is the fact that she is a ‘dark’ main belt asteroid and also considered a magician – sorceress – enchantress. It seems she wants to do what she loves in privacy. She has little desire to be in the public eye and is attracted to what the normal world would consider dark and manipulative.
What adds to this perception is that she was living a solitary existence, one away from society and surrounding herself with animals and her crafts. It is others, the males, who encroach on her asylum, to which she welcomes them and offers them hospitality. To my mind, it would seem that they perhaps acted like the animal she turned them into, pigs – it was merely an action taken towards behavior in her personal haven.
However, she held the key of knowledge, how to reach the end goal of Odysseus’s personal journey. To gain this information, there were lies, spells and trickery afoot but in the end, she did the right thing. His men were freed, he found out his information and she had a passionate lover affair. It seems that a main drive for her is defined in her science.
Overall, in her solitude, she has chosen to shun much of the other feminine ways – Ceres (motherhood), Pallas (daddy’s girl and diplomat) and Vesta (home body). She is the aggressor with others and forms relationships on her terms, more as a business union than that of an emotional interchange. She knows her passions, her belief system, has her own moral boundaries and makes no apologies.
We can consider Circe as a secretive place in our psyche where we can attempt to undermine others, as well as ourselves. It is a place that we will seek alternative answers on our ‘personal journey’ and it would be interesting to see in transition to your natal, if Circe has been in play if you have experienced ‘magical events’. She obviously denotes magic and wicca/pagan desires in ones chart and would be a strong placement in any who chose this form of belief system.
It also defines a desire to explore more natural means of healing and a simpler life away from societal expectations. Circe is where we can be manipulative or are manipulated by others to get to where we want to go. Where there are secret deals with hidden agendas and emotional considerations."IP: Logged |

I have Circe(Thora and Fraternitas) in 2nd close opposition to Vesta.
Hekate close opposition to Mars By inverse midpoint they are also both tied to Juvisia,Moira and Neptune.
I had a few Wiccans around me in my youth.

Appleberry, Circe is exactly conjunct my natal ascendent. So this post touched something in my inner core. I have always resonated with her and I thank you for this post because it makes me realize how much I need my solitude.
Circe is also conjunct my Pallas (2 orb) and True Node (3 orb). She is certainly powerful for me! I haven't look at my other favorite asteroids with her, but I can bet she's there.As a note: I have always been surrounded by magickal practices, along with Pagans and Wiccans. My great grandfather though very important in the Russian Orthodox church while reading/writing 5 languages and speaking 7, used tarot, palmistry and astrology throughout his life. My grandmother and mother have always taught me that "the spirit" runs high in the women of our family. That our dreams have meaning, our gut instincts are true and that our intuition/premonitions will set you on the right path. Meanwhile my Italian dad was very philosophical secular Buddhist, he practiced tarot and Strega was often talked about even though that side was devout Roman Catholic. My sister follows Hellenism which is following the Greek pagan gods. She taught me much about tarot and my gut. It seems I have always been helped and guided by magickal people in my life, and that I've been watched over by cats and guided by knowledge. I used to consider myself a kemetic (one who follows kemetism paganism or follows ancient Egyptian Gods) but I'm not so devout anymore. I have always felt Bastet and Djehuty (Thoth is his Greek name) in my life. Bastet was much more obvious than Djehuty because he works behind the scenes. However, I also owe my life to Sekhmet. When I was suicidal she gave me the courage and the fire to fight on. Hathor also has helped me with daily self-care rituals, self-image and self-confidence. She inspires me to have and recognize beauty and to of course. I also practice Tarot, palmistry is interesting but I can't get the hang of it and astrology has always been a passion of mine. I also really resonate with secular Buddhism. I really want to learn more and practice it. ------------------

I am attracted to Paganism and also Buddhism. I love the mountains, I want to live in the mountains but close enough to the city that I can commute for work, I did this for a while actually and plan to again next year. IP: Logged |

Yes, HIf I had not become a Born Again Christian, I may have become a witch, for real lol I would have been the person making herbal things if I lived in earlier times. In Tudor England, for one example, you can see how some women were the pharmacists. I read a lot about this period. They had herb gardens and mixed herb and people sought them out for healing I have a big organic garden. I am into edible weeds, too. Now, that is a fascinating study lol

Yes Circe pretty steers away from the public eye. The best modern day representation I can think of her as is a chemist. Manipulating matter in to a more suitable form. I have her conjunct my Venus/Chart ruler. IP: Logged |
