I work as a personal injury attorney and I attended a deposition today in a motor vehicle accident case. It was my job to sit through the testimony of my client (who was in her husband's car last year and got rear-ended by a young man in his much larger, heavier car during a rain storm in their neighborhood). I also had to take his testimony, as she was suing him for damages. I liked my client, but I also liked the young man who rear-ended her and ended up causing her quite a bit of physical pain from the whiplash injury and the broken ribs. I don't know what made me run home and plug in their birth information and do the synastry, other than the fact that these days, I am slightly obsessed with asteroids. What I found was tres, tres interesting. Here are the highlights: In the young man's natal chart, his retrograde Moira is loosely conjunct (3 degr) her (retrograde) name asteroid, Deborah In the synastry of him (the driver) with me (attorney): His Fortuna (retrograde) conjunct my Karma
His Moira/Deborah conjunct my Deborah In the synastry of him (the driver) with her (injured lady): His Karma (retrograde) almost exact conjunct her N/Node
His Destinn exact conjunct her Jupiter In the synastry of me (attorney) and her (injured lady): Her Deborah (2 Gem) oppos My Deborah (1 Sagit) Howdaya like them apples? IP: Logged |

What this shows is that certainly asteroids reflect reality in interesting ways but these instances can be specific and ephemeral. For example, an asteroid conjunct a planet may only refer to a brief episode in one's life. While inter-planetary aspects would indicate long term qualities, prospects and potentials.Asteroids, of course, through their specificivity play an important role. I can't, however, see how useful they might be for divination purposes, unless one is only focusing on a few major asteroids such as Juno or Valentine and has amassed much experience or research to link aspects and transits etc. Asteroids are mainly useful, it seems, to add meaning to past events. Good point AK. I am certain I will have no more contact with the young man , so certainly any asteroid contacts in our synastry represent a fleeting moment in time where we connected. And yes, asteroid analysis here could only have been done rretrospectively. Still, I believe the asteroids have demonstrated, time and time again, for me, that there is a plan. I would have never met this young man, who lives quite a distance away and travels in very different social circles, had it not been for a lawsuit brought by a stranger he hit on his own local road. And she didn't have anything to do with contacting our law office - it was initiated by her husband. Who could have chosen at least fifty other firms to call. It only looks random IRL. But when you tweak the astrology with the asteroids, voila, the story was there, waiting to be played out!IP: Logged |

Yep asteroids definitely matter and add important info to situations. The day I met an ex his first name asteroid was conjunct my Ascendant.IP: Logged |
