I can think of Ceres. Any others?Maybe Pallas? - as an interest in ecology and sustainability entails linking ideas together - but it seems a little tenuous. IP: Logged |

Have you looked at planet placements? I was actually born on Earth Day (April 22nd) and am quite involved in beach cleanups, gardening and hiking .IP: Logged |

Can vouch for Gaea my partner is very very interested in the well being of the earth (to the point that he gets quite depressed about the destructiveness presently being engaged in here). For him, Gaea is at 29 Pisces, conjunct his 0 Aries Moon and square his Nodes/Neptune.I have Gaea at 21 Cancer trine my Sun 21 Scorpio and Ceres 17 Pisces. I'm into it also... been living off grid and on ecovillages for years. Used to live outside with no tent for a long time, traveling. Love the earth. Wanted to be a marine biologist but am too wild for traditional schooling... I study permaculture and have always been very gentle with animals and plants. Ethical harvesting, etc etc... Diana is conjunct my North Node. She's a protector of wild places... and wild people... this has always felt like my path.. the right one for me... IP: Logged |

Thank you all. I recently decided to specialise in green issues for my studies and am becoming 'greener' by the day. Particularly interested in food, farming and environmental justice. Yungang, your story sounds so interesting. Would liked to have met you . My Gaea is conjunct Truth (0) and Venus (1) in the 4th house. It forms close aspects with Mercury and ascendant. Cybele, in 2nd, conjunct Mars/Asc mid pt. as well as Angel. Mars/Asc 10.51, Cybele 11.8, Angel 12.1 Ceres, although in 6th, isn't doing much else. Nor Diana. IP: Logged |

I think you're onto something with Pallas. Depending on her aspects she can really help with awareness of patterns and webs, very ecological potential there. Would like to meet you too all the best to you! I think this area of study can be really compelling in that it helps us understand our connection and dedication to the earth. Powerful use of astrology imo and an area i would like to explore in more depth. IP: Logged |

(128523) JohnMuir. As stated before, I was born on Earth Day and environmental activist and nature lover John Muir happened to be born a day before on April 21st. Strong Earth placements in the chart often indicate this. Muir was best known for exploring up North in places like Yosemite. (8)Flora (410) Chloris (Greek Goddess of flowers and the spring season) (224) Oceana (I guess if you're into keeping the ocean clean) (65) Cybele (Greek Goddess of fertile earth and wild animals) IP: Logged |

Thanks for these SA.I'm an Earth void!! But Ceres and Johnmuir are in Cap. Oceana is conjunct Venus (0), also close to Gaea and Truth. I think Ocean is inextricably tied to green issues. IP: Logged |

Nymphe too maybe? I have Cybele conjunct Sun, which I knew before, but am now looking into her mythology with great interest as I didn't turn up as much interesting stuff before... I was under the impression she was just a queen of weird orgiastic parades and such but i see that the orgiastic strange quality of her worship was directly related to the ecstatic fecundity of the earth! Wonderful! Love her. IP: Logged |

Nymphe does not resonate with any of the above - she is supposed to have sexual connotations, I think. Some things have been falling into place for me in the last couple of days with regard to making connections between ideas on ecology. I looked up transits and found: t Eureka exactly conjunct n Eureka and n Veritas. t Mars conjunct n Discovery. Cool!

Yeah I know Nymphe has been associated with sex and specifically a liberated sex positivity, the feel good natural sex and sexiness... But Nymphs are nature spirits first and foremost... the spirits of particular places/trees/etc. They're attractive sexually in myth in part because of their naturalness... their embodied essence and connection to the earth being inherently sexy and appealing. Good point, Yungang! Nymphe still isn't forming any thematic links in my chart. IP: Logged |

I've been looking up the etymology of the word Nymph and it's interesting. . Apparently originally referred to a bride, or a rosebud, a swelling, as if to bloom... the act of marriage... So it's interesting that nymphs have been implicated in mythology as bridges of nature and humans, as beautiful divine beings, an anthromorphization(sic?) of nature itself, with which we may actually mate.. A form of nature to which we are irresistibly attracted, the essence of a natural place which causes us to fall in love with it...Nymphe may refer then, in part, to our ability to wed the wild places, or to become so intimately in tune with them that our bodies are actually representative of them. For those with a limited sense of the spirit or essence of their own place of origin in an ecological sense, Nymphe may be challenged or subdued... I would think she might be pronounced by transit or progression at times of making profound links with natural places... For me Nymphe is at 11 Cancer, conjunct Veritas, trine Mercury at 10 Scorp and my North Node 11 Pisces.. widely opposed my Moon/Neptune at 8 Cap and conjunct my Chiron quite widely (6 Cancer). I've had a lot of experiences/feelings/identities, and nurtured personal mythologies, which relate to the above mentioned themes. I have become quite intimate with trees ... and had long conversations with grasses... IP: Logged |
