I have this conjunct my AC and was wondering what it meant. I thought it might relate to the power of the ancient Magicians and Alchemists. I have tried magic spells before, but have never succeeded in manifesting what I was wishing for. Could there be another meaning for the "magic" related to Archimedes? I know he was a magician/wizard but yeah, I'm not a magical magician unfortunately lol.

Archimedes was a top scientist and inventor. I think it is more to do with knowing things suddenly, obtaining insights or knowledge out of the blue, as it were. Think of Eureka. Or it may endow you with a scientific mind that looks for interesting and new solutions. I don't see that this asteroid denotes occult or magical things.

I have Archimedes exactly conjunct Mercury and this is the way my mind operates. I get answers or see solutions suddenly like having an eureka moment.

Omg I was thinking about this owl named Archimedes in this cartoon movie called "The Sword In The Stone". He was Merlin the magician's pet in the movie hence me thinking it was about magic haha.

Yeah I found it on there actually. I asked the question because I don't really think his definition makes sense

Mark Holmes interpretations are usually controversial. I don't agree with his interpretation of Archimedes at all. The upward and downward spiral would be true for a huge no of famous people, and for almost everyone in Hollywood. It is a very tenuous link to Archimedes or for that matter to anything else. In astrology, if you are looking for a particular slant or meaning, you will find it if you look hard enough.

Your username says Sun-Ascendant conjunction?
That would be your first house?
And is Archimedes conjunct your Sun?

Why did you use 2598 as the asteroid number?

AstroKeen.... I know that we are used to looking at only the keywords and apply it to strictly 'the now'? ...

But if you have read any of Mark Andrew Holmes' other pages and work?, then you could gather more meaning on 'how' he (a VERY VERY long time ago) did all his personal research into all these asteroid meanings we enjoy FOR FREE from him.

Look at his overall history. Read as many of the asteroids as you can... spend a couple days, reading asteroid after asteroid. Don't forget also, that he is a writer and poet... We can honor him by reading his works. Know your writers.

He was going through personal events and changes over the course of his writings.... the same way that we do. But I BET that he did not 'expect' us here, at LL, reading his 'journals'-of-sorts.

Some of the original creators and interpreters were on the cutting edge beginnings of all this.... And WE are sooooo Privileged right now, here and now, to be reading their old works, and we 'refine' the works by BUILDING on top of what people did before us. (I'm just so grateful by all the History we are privy too....)

So, it's important to read the interpretations WITH the understanding that we filter everything through our lives when we start our research.

Some people might be put-off by his political and religious beliefs... Know this, for yourself, before delving into the study of ANYBODY's work... Some of the people he off-mentions and credits, might be the more researching-astrologers.

Here at LL??, we are 'parlor game' type researchers--- not true scientists.

Sometimes, *grin* we make GIANT discoveries 'just by playing'... That is the benefit. We trip on treasures all the time.

I listened to an interview of Robert Hand a while back, and he was saying how for some individual's charts, the asteroids work very very vividly (those are my words). I happen to 'have' one of those charts where Mark Andrew Holmes' interpretations are incredibly amazing. And I have written in my posts here too, how much I hope (if he reads any of my work), that he gets some of the confirmations on his ideas.... So what if he's into whatever political movement he belonged to at certain times in his life. Gently, don't we ALL move through phases?? I know ~I have!

I think he has made a MAJOR MAJOR contribution TO the study of asteroids. It's mystical and AMAZING how this all came about.

And Astro_keen, I hope you realize too, how valuable it was that you started the compiling of information... I do appreciate what work you've done. AND, I know that a lot of the research, too, that we have posted COMES from Mark Andrew Holmes' actual working interpretations, OR/AND, we utilize HIS principles... EVEN, his sometimes-smartas$ approaches?, okay??? I LOVE IT!!!!

So, I write this today, for clarifying purposes.... Didn't mean to interrupt your own flows. Just adding, and hoping that it can help broaden or add understanding to the way interpretations have been researched~created played~with, WAY before this asteroid forum was started.

Cheers, and Have a Great Day. I'll keep looking on your interpretations with avid interests, and adding my own knowledge (a little bit of deeper research I've done) where I see it might make a difference.

Yeah, I think it's hard to not make up definitions for asteroids sometimes. Like people might try to reach for definitions that aren't there.
