"Two sisters are taking a walk on the forest on a sunny day. The youngest one ,named Moon, is very curious about the surroundings and she doesn’t know much things about it. The eldest one, named Ceres, is very patient and is trying to explain to her sister all the elements that are part of the forest. At one moment a bee is approaching them. The Ceres immediately warn Moon that this tiny and beautiful insect might sting here and it will cause her pain. The Moon looking at this beautiful insect which was flying towards her is saying in her mind that her sister is wrong and the bee will do no harm. So she reach her hand and grab the bee. The result is obvious: the bee stang Moon and she start crying."

Hmm... yes, this is definitely something in intrigue. To be studious, with what's, by direct link, the Moon - that the Moon and Ceres have such a link. What's odd is that I have Aries in Moon and Pisces in Ceres - the youngest and the oldest of the Zodiac. Fire and Water. Transcendent and youthful. One who dynamically is and one who serves. Though I'm sure many other's charts are very divergent and that this shouldn't act as a catalyst, I'm just saying that there's a bitter irony in that.

Outside of that, the connection Ceres has with Moon sounds like something that could convinience one ('sextile, trine, conjunction') or not enough so ('square or opposition').

I think ceres is important and underated. Ive had a few relationships where the other persons ceres was conjunct my moon and the nurturing/need part of the relationship was just there without much effort. It didnt solve all the problems as these two bodies are instinctual as opposed to rational and conscious but it def helped.

Great article.

I like the parallel between the asc/sun and ceres and moon, although it would be neater if ceres were a point instead of an object.

The yin yang analysis is insightful and rings true. Im yang - yang as both my moon and ceres are in gemini. Feelings always crystalize for me when I express them and I tend to feel nurtured when I converse, discuss something in depth, etc - all yang activities.

ciuboda, thanks for nice articles.
I have Ceres (17* 46** Scorpio) in Conjunction with my Ascendant (18*)
I am many years in astrology but I must admit I didn't pay attention to asteroides until now, so, everything is new for me. It is only few days that I am searching web about that and I am really very surprized. Could you tell me something about my case, please? My moon iz in Cancer 27* in 9th house, that is in square with Neptune 4* iN Scorpio in 12th house!!

Thank you all for your appreciations!

Astrobee,

The Ceres position in 1st house and/or conjunct with Ascendant (in your case in 12th house but very close) is one of the most difficult to deal with.
This is happening because your conscient and subconscient are receiving and responding in the same manner to any external influence. Ususally a person when his emotional level (Moon) is 'attacked' he can use his ego ( conscient part - Sun) to make a balance. And viceversa is also availabale.

In your case Ceres conjunct Ascendant you are receiving every 'hit' from outside on both level , conscient and subconscient. So for you it's a little bit harder to find a balance or to rely on something in thes cases. It's like your Sun and Moon are protected by the same shield...instead of 2 separate shields.

I hope that I was able to make my self clear and you got the ideea...if not let me know.

Dan

Thank you for your fast answer. I think I understood you.
My Sun sign is Leo, Ascendant Scorpio, ruler Mars in Virgo, in 10th house in not so strong conjunction with Venus (about 7*) and my Pluto is very close to MC.

I know my Neptune in 12 house is extremely sensitive and its square with Moon in Cancer makes life more difficult for me. And now, when I read about Ceres influence in my chart, I wonder how much I have to endure yet. In fact, I have a sense I had to have such difficult life experience, and even, I had a sense about the meaning of that all... It was an extremely terrible but in the same time extremely useful 'golden' experience.
I don't want to bother you by my chart more, but I must admit I am new on this forum and everything is extremely interesting to me and although I am more then 20 years in Astrology (not professionally, but for my self and my friends...) I find much of that new, especially everything about asteroids etc.

This has been a fascinating read, I've known little about this influence in my chart other than what I've found for one with Ceres in Scorpio in their 2nd house. Thanks for the additional info.

One comment on your mention of the Ceres return chart and women. I went back and looked and found that when I conceived my one and only child it was when Ceres was approximately opposite (I eyeballed it) it's placement in my natal chart, not sure if that is significant or not. This one child of mine was a miracle as I've struggled with infertility.

Thank you mudmama!

It will be interesting to look up on your Ceres return for that period of time. This should be some 2-3 years before your baby born.

From you signature I think you are born between 29th of September and 1st of October 1968. Your Ceres is conjunct with Neptune which means that imagination is shaping your emotions.

Ceres is certainly interesting, too bad there is such little information available of it. There seems to be some similarities with the moon, but somehow I have an idea that it's only a small part of Ceres, there is more to it. Perhaps we'll find out more about it in future.

I have Moon in Aries in 8th house, and Ceres in Leo in 12th house. Both in fire signs, water houses, though they don't form an aspect with each others - unless you allow a very wide orb. Not sure how I should read that.

I am indeed 29 Sept, it's also sextile Jupiter and Pluto and semisquare my Sun if that figures in to anything.

Imagination shaping my emotions is an understatement!

Thanks Dan. I really enjoyed the pieces. My Aqua Ceres conjuncts my Pisces Chiron and sextiles my Aries Moon. I plan to look at the conception and births of my two children to see if I note a tie with Ceres.

I am also fascinated with CERES synastry as I have my Ceres conjunct another's Venus/Chiron/Eros falling in the 8th house.

at the time of my son's birth Aqua CERES was transiting 11 degrees- sextile my Sag Ascendant and sextile my Aries Mars.

At the time of my daughter's birth Capricorn CERES was transiting tight conjunct to my 2nd house Saturn.

Conception I'll have to look at later as one was three weeks early..

I'm getting more and more interested in asteroids, especially in synastry. I just noticed that my Ceres is conjuncting Neptune in my 5th house, and it also makes a conjunction to my bf's DC. His Ceres is conjuncting my Saturn, and our Ceres's are in opposition...wondering if it is a positive opposition?!

Oppositions means out of balance. Hence you may be giving too much too each other or not at the right time, or you give but won't receive what you are being given. Or you may have the illusion that being a provider will automatically create love or you have a hard time assessing each other's need properly. His saturn conjuncting your Ceres must be a stabilizing factor. If you have kids, this must help with motherhood.

My ceres is in aries but I have a guy who's ceres is conjunct my sun. I feel all warm inside when I'm with him, most of the time at peace like truely relaxed peace. My ceres conjunct his chiron, I heal him where he wounded the most I guess.
