Yes, Sita represents purity and loyalty. Rama had to fulfil his duty as a king and could not keep a wife who had lived in another man's home - even though she had been kidnapped, in this instance. Rama was pretty spineless to sacrifice his wife for silly society norms.Sita was known for being loyal to Rama in all situations, her integrity and purity of heart. I don't think she is viewed as the one who was abandoned, because she was a strong woman. She refused to accept Rama when he wanted to make amends and invite her back as his queen. She is seen as the perfect wife and embodies goodness. IP: Logged |
