It's conjunct my Scorpio Sun by 16 minutes in the 9th house. I think it's my closest conjunction to my Sun that I've found. I have Karma there too, but it's 1 degree away. Quaoar also opposes Chiron by less than 3 degrees.

The asteroids have to be super close--3 in a conj is a fudge. It should be 1-2 and the other aspects should really be 1 lol

Quaoar (pronounced kwah-whar) was the name given to the "creation force" by the Native American Tongva tribe who were the original inhabitants in Southern California. According to legend, Quaoar "came down from heaven; and, after reducing chaos to order, laid out the world on the back of seven giants. He then created the lower animals, and then (or from them) humankind."

I like this interpretation:
Its potential theme: "Inspires our return to the sacredness of life and to natural law, to synchronize with and live according to the natural laws of creation". http://www.lunarplanner.com/HCpages/Pluto-Ixion-Quaoar-synod.html

I have QUAOAR CONJUNCT MERCURY exact in the 3rd house, sextile the Asc. Some people see QUAOAR as referring to genius because it is in a prominent position in a few famous peoples' charts, but I think that is wrong. The quote given above could have meaning in all of those instances. In my case, I am very interested in ecological issues. And I communicate about these, hence the meaning above seems appropriate.

I have Quaoar in Scorpio 1H opp. Chiron 7H (2').

No idea how to interpret this... something to do with transformation, self knowledge, healing and relationships, I guess.

Voix,

You could check the sabian symbol for that point - that may cast some light on how you are returning 'to the sacredness of life and to natural law, to synchronize with and live according to the natural laws of creation'.

Good idea Astro! So I got this:

FIRST LEVEL: ACTIONAL

PHASE 226 (SCORPIO 16°): A GIRL'S FACE BREAKING INTO A SMILE.

KEYNOTE: The fervent reaching out on the part of the young of heart to new experiences.

Faith in life and in other human beings enables us to go forth toward relationships with whatever attracts our senses or stirs our imagination. Smiling is perhaps a uniquely human characteristic because it implies a conscious acceptance of relationship, thus a choice. The animal, on the other hand, is compelled by unconscious instinct, at least in its natural state. It is not free to choose between love and hate.

This is the first symbol of the forty-sixth five-fold sequence. It introduces us to a series of responses to human experience and pictures a glowing WARMTH OF FEELING.

How eerie that it is about relationships, echoing the 7H Chiron.
Hmmm healing with a smile, practising acceptance and faith in others. I like this!

Very interesting.

My Quaoar is:

2 minutes off my Moon in Scorpio conj. Isis, Nymphe, Angel and...

Trine my Mercury/Karma and...
~2.5 deg. Trine to my Yeshuhua

My Moon trines my Saturn/Magdalena but by a wider orb.

It's at 7Sco59, 7" away from my Uranus at 7Sco52 in the 12th; using a 2° orb -> 40" trine Vertex at 7Can19 in the 8th; 2° opp Chiron at 5Tau46 in the 6th; sext Mer at 10Vir22 in the 10th; sext MC at 6Vir31; biqt Mars at 13Gem4 in the 7th.

Sabian for 7Sco: "The Silvery Moon Shining Across a Beautiful Gem of a Lake"

This Symbol implies seeing things reflected in the world around. It can also show someone who loses the plot through not being able to differentiate reality from fiction, intuition from dreaming or what’s theirs from someone else’s emotions, thoughts or reality. Certainly, this speaks of depth in intellect, intuition and emotions. Whether there are hidden depths of not, there may be a strong sense of things being ‘reflected’, as the “Moon” reflects on the “Lake” much like a mirror. What needs reflection? Or less projection? Are things evaluated merely on a superficial level? Are you able to see things for how they really are? Look for signs you need to observe, and watch how life can be reflected around you.

Reflections. Reactions. Photographs. Picture postcard images. Mirrors. Stillness. Quiet. Projection – especially based on appearances. Psychic abilities. Placid emotions.

Acting out. Moodiness. Losing the plot. Relating to others as if in a mirror. Co-dependant relationships. Superficial responses. Narcissism. Afraid of depth.

Rudhyar:
SECOND LEVEL: EMOTIONAL/CULTURAL

PHASE 217 (SCORPIO 7°): DEEP-SEA DIVERS.

KEYNOTE: The will to explore the hidden depths of all experiences and to search for primordial causes.

This symbol essentially refers to depth psychology — a coming to terms with the collective Unconscious and its contents. This type of depth-plumbing adventure is basically different from the one symbolized by the gold rush, for it can take place within the individual and with no relation to social value. It refers symbolically to a quest for “under-standing” — i.e. for what lies under the
surface waves of daily living. This quest may lead to great dangers. It demands a strong will and good breathing — i.e. a degree of spiritual strength. It usually challenges powers hidden in the depths of the unconscious.

The contrast between “deep-sea divers” and “men of the gold rush” is significant. It presents in an interesting manner the opposition between a first stage and second stage symbol in the five-fold sequence of cyclic phases. The inward quest opposes the outward search for the great social symbol, gold. It should lead to a DEPTH REALIZATION of the very roots of consciousness.
