People who have a dominant Pholus or Eris get upset with me when I don’t give the proper respect to Pholus(5145) and Eris(136199). Yes, there is an area of respect, but one may respect a hurricane, too, and still seek shelter. Pholus was made for exploding the natural order of what it touches. This can be positive when it takes the from of a whistle blower or an iconoclast. However, in the chart of the every day native, Pholus may blow themselves up, as well. Also, people may get so exasperated with the Pholus native that people run away.The Pholus person was not trying to be “bad”. It is his nature. If I can tell you anything about the charts, it is that the nature of the native is given by God. It is not the fault of the native if he has a difficult placement, such as Pholus conjunct the Sun, for example. This native was not meant to sing in the chorus. He was meant to be an Alice Cooper, complete with guyliner, singing “Poison” on the live stage.( By the way,Alice Cooper is a Born Again Christian, for all you people who think being a Born Again Christian is not cool)
Pholus Conjunct the Sun
This native may not have the strongest ego. The stronger and more grounded is the Sun, the more secure the native will feel. One really does not want the Sun to be fragmented, at all. Pholus could be considered a fragmenting agent. Hence, I do not think this is a positive placement. However, the native did not choose it. The best use of this placement may be to fight in those areas of life for which you have a passion. In synastry, this native will need to find someone who brings comfort to the Pholus/Sun placement. An example of such a placement would be a Moon trine.
Pholus Conjunct the Moon
Once again, one does not want the Moon fragmented. The Moon/Pholus native may not feel grounded. She may feel ‘scattered”. The best use of Pholus is to find a cause dear to one’s heart and embrace it. Also, in synastry, find a person who can comfort the Pholus placement, such as a Moon or Sun trine.
Pholus Conjunct Venus
This native may find herself in explosive love affairs. She may not understand why. Pholus does shatter the existing structures. Venus is one’s love nature and shows us the nature of our relationships, so one would not choose to have Pholus conjunct Venus, I don’t think. For the person who does have this, once again, try to find a person who can help to assuage this placement and someone who likes BIG DRAMA.
Pholus Conjunct Mars
Pholus conjunct Mars may not be as difficult as Pholus conjunct the Moon and Venus. The Moon and Venus are yin/passive planets. Jarring asteroids affect them much more. Mars is a driven and goal oriented planet, so Mars can incorporate Pholus better. Hence, the Mars/Pholus native would, likely, be cause oriented. In this, he would be similar to an Aries Mars.
Mercury Conjunct Pholus
I am not sure how this placement would manifest. I have not seen it in the charts. My guess is that Pholus may make the Mercury kind of unstable, as does Uranus in conjunction with Mercury. I suspect the native would be driven to change social structures and conventions, as well.
PS Alice Cooper is used for an illustrative example, not used for actual chart placements.
