I had a trial trying to find something suitable for my best friend. He has a fairly common name, but nothing fit. The close-ish alternatives to his surname didn't feel right either, so in the end I wrote down a list of potentials, including some of his initials, and plugged them all in, one by one.

Bizarrely the one that fit the best - and tbh felt right from the second I saw it - was his initials with a number after it, almost exactly mirroring his user-ID on most of his social network sites etc (so he clearly feels a connection to it). Fascinatingly, that asteroid is conjunct his ascendant (less than 1 deg), so that is the one I use for him now.

I love that your daughter's name was pre-moulded in a sense I've yet to find a suitable alternative for my little boy!

My name is Kara, and there are so many asteroids which kinda start with my name, and they all seem to resonate differently and in really interesting ways...

There are a few songs where the person singing says Carol or Caroline and I hear my name in them so it's really funny and auspicious feeling to see all these variations. The songs mean something to me.... like um there's

"Long May you Run" by Neil Young (with those waves singin Caroline..oh" ... but he sings it where there's this very much sounding like my name moment...) -- and I was at a concert of his once and he totally looked at me at that point... to be fair I was standing up and crying at many points lol... at another one he gave me the peace sign, like, "chill out there Kara" ... heh... my Dad who has passed away actually went to high school with him (my dad was the quarterback .. Neil Young was always friendly and funny I hear), and I had been to a concert of his with my Dad before then, many emotions going on, to be fair!

and then there's

Rickie Lee Jones' "Magazine"
...
"You break my heart, Carol... Carol... Carol..."

come to think of it I cried when I saw her live too lol. And that song links with my mom in a big way who would pay rickie Lee jones on repeat when we were growing up. She was at the concert which was an outdoors folk festival. I was... in an altered state lol... but my mom is cool with that. Anyway it was beautiful too!

Back to name asteroids... the one which has the fewest added letters and sounds like my name other than those above (which I'm kind of excited now to investigate!)... is Karatsu 29514, which is conjunct my ascendant/Vesta in my chart. I use that one mostly because it makes sense for the aforementioned qualities. It's a bit cute I think. I'm really excited to explore those ones above though!

But then there's Karamazov (actually that's not it exactly but I don't have my solarfire open right now..), Karachkina 8019... and others I can't recall.. OK maybe there aren't so many lol. But they're all kinda worth investigating and tend to do interesting things. I don't have a hard time finding this kind of thing interesting though!

Also I know of Davida 511 and Davidfreedman 19969, both of which seem relevant to a person I know... in slightly different ways...

Hey wow I just noticed Davidfreedman was discovered the year I was born, a few months before, in August.

He was born the day before me. So was Leonardo Dicaprio. I have better synastry with Leo and actually have had visions I'm supposed to work on climate change and saving the world stuff with him lol. I think the landscape has changed since I had that vision.

But it's fascinating that both of those men are into protecting the environment big time and so am I.
