I've always been curious HOW astrology works.

Ami Anne has said that Mars motivates what it touches (conjunction).

The question is is it demotivate in opposition? We look at oppositions and squares as challenges.

1. Protector of Tombs
"foremost of the westerners" (protecting dead, because they were buried on the west bank of the Nile) "He who is upon his mountain" (guarding tombs from above) and "Lord of the sacred land" (god of desert necropolis)

2. Embalmer
"He who presides over the god's booth."
Booth = embalming location or burial chamber

3. Guider of Souls
Guiding souls across the threshold from living to afterlife

4. Weighing of the Heart
Worthiness of going into the afterlife.

I see asteroid Anubis incredibly different. He has a spiritual aspect, but not like Asteroid Spirit.

If Anubis holds a strong place in your chart it might signify your ability to see the good or evil in someone.

Given that, Mars opposite Anubis might mean this:
1. Given Mars motivates what it touches
2. Anubis opposite might mean it is hard for that person to "weigh the heart" of another, or see their true nature.

I often say - "only God knows the content of a man's heart." Perhaps Asteroid Anubis gives some people this ability.
