According to this site , asteroid HEBE (6) normally indicates service-oriented work, such as clerks, waiters or administrative assistants, but the author also known Hebe to show up in relationship readings where one of the partners was a slave to the other. There's also the asteroid BUTLER (13543), so I wonder if that has a similar effect to Hebe in synastry? There does seem to be a service aspect to it... Hebe acting as cup-bearer to the other gods and goddesses. Hebe is a goddess of eternal youth too though, and connected to the term hebephilia which means a sexual attraction to pubescent youths. So I'd say that Hebe is too complex to be considered very similar to Butler. I'd guess Butler would be a lot more straightforward. I'm not very familiar with Butler though... there might be similarities. Here is a bit about Hebe: http://alexasteroidastrology.com/hebe/ IP: Logged |

Thanks for the link, Nadja! It's interesting, but I guess the servant-attitude is what Hebe has in common with what we associate with Butler.I wonder how Butler conjunct Venus plays out in synastry? Would it mean the Butler person behaves like a Butler towards Venus, or the Butler person sees the 'Butler side' in the Venus person and loves it? IP: Logged |

No idea! But I'd guess that the Butler person is more of the butler in the relationship... I just checked where my Butler is, and what do you know, I have it conjunct my natal Venus! Perhaps I'm drawn to people who will play the butler for me...? My indolent Venus agrees with that notion! IP: Logged |

I've got Hebe exactly on my 8th house Juno, conjunct BML, in Sag!I can definitely say I have no attraction to 'pubescent youth', but people are often a bit shocked to find out my age. I also had a lot of older men be extremely/outwardly attracted to me as a young child/pre-pubescent teen. It sucked. As for the serving aspect- I am totally guilty of acting a servant to my partner. It brings me joy in a weird way. But usually only on my own terms hahaha, so like with a safe word. IP: Logged |

I have Butler conjunct Chiron in Leo. They're within a few minutes of being exact by degree and minute. In contrast to what my Virgo Midheaven suggests, I'm actually not properly suited for any kind of service-oriented work. I'm at my best when I can make my own rules and I'm not providing a service to others.IP: Logged |
