(10585) Wabi-Sabi, I think this is a nice one to check for in synastry:

In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi (侘寂 is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection.[2] The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete".[3] It is a concept derived from the Buddhist teaching of the three marks of existence (三法印 sanbōin), specifically impermanence (無常 mujō , suffering (苦 ku) and emptiness or absence of self-nature (空 kū .

Characteristics of the wabi-sabi aesthetic include asymmetry, roughness, simplicity, economy, austerity, modesty, intimacy, and appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects and processes.

So, if positively aspected, someone who accepts your imperfections and finds it beautiful..?

I think this one can be telling in the natal chart too. It's so meaningful, what with the whole philosophy behind the aesthetic. It's all about learning to let go, live in the moment, enjoy the little things and see he beauty in imperfection.

I have Wabi-Sabi conjunct my natal North Node and I do feel that the Wabi-Sabi wisdom is a big lesson in my life.

Ah interesting, I would think the opposite of this asteroid is a a virgo or capricorn placement indicating a tendency towards perfectionism..perhaps your south node???

All morning.. especially on my walk, THIS was the topic discussed inside my head and soul.

10585 Wabi-Sabi Gemini 15.06'25" in H7
.. conjunct (one of the) Parts.o.Marriage Gem 15.15

t Wabi-Sabi was in Scorpio conjunct my Juno-rx Scorpio 4.49' H11

As I walked, there was even-more of an inner-acceptance of my inner self, which has set a high-bar for itself, and the accepting of inner flaws involved with simply purely 'being a human'.

You can 'make mistakes' and, still be acceptable and worthy of Love.

Not just one,
nor the other,
but BOTH are necessary in the making of a healthy human personality-- complete and perfecting, as-they-are.

thanks for sharing

My SN is in Libra, conjunct my Ascendant in the 1st house. But I do have Moon in Virgo. And both nodes square my Capricorn Neptune/IC conjunction. Libra is also a bit of a perfectionistic sign though... perfect balance, perfect harmony, perfect beauty...

Makes sense that libra could be perfectionistic as well, especially when it comes to aesthetics. Do you have the tendency to wanting to be seen as perfectly dressed or looking perfect physically ?

I wonder how this translates into your NN with aries in the 7th..not ending up with a partner that wants a Stepford type of wife? Or is this more about your concept of what an attractive personality is? Just guessing, hehe..

In my first house-
27-28 deg Scorpio
The King Of The Fairies Approaching His Domain

It is in a sextile with both my natal Moon and Venus. Not sure what I think of this one yet. Ican say I have (a natural) symmetry with my facial balance. Won't go too far into that but even my eyes, when I saw an optometrist, he was shocked because they were exact. Which he said (prob was flattery. Lol) it's unusual to be so balanced.

Has anyone tried it in synastry?

Are you sure your facial symmetry isn't due to something else as this one is supposed to be about imperfection?

Your symmetry made me think more about Fibonacci and it's apparently an asteroid that also exists because I just checked it, it's number (6765) .

There has been a study done on physical beauty and it's relation to 'the golden rule' (The Golden Ratio (or "Golden Section") is based on Fibonacci Numbers)

It has long been said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and thought that beauty varies by race, culture or era. The evidence, however, shows that our perception of physical beauty is hard wired into our being and based on how closely the features of one’s face reflect phi in their proportions. The Golden Ratio appears extensively in the human face, as demonstrated in a 2009 university study on attractiveness and as illustrated by the video below of Florence Colgate, Britain’s “Most Perfect Face” of 2012..

I am rather preoccupied with aesthetics, in every way, but I feel I've learned my Wabi-Sabi lesson there. I still struggle with a need to always be perfectly charming, keeping the peace at all costs, and a fear of conflict... And I believe that my Aries 7th NN is telling me that I need to be more assertive in my relationships with other people, to allow a bit of conflict, to stand my ground and not always compromise... And Wabi-Sabi is telling me that I don't need to be perfect to be lovable.

My 7th house has a bit of a different meaning for me... Since I am asexual and aromantic there has never been, and most probably never will be, and romantic relationships or marriage in my life. So for me it's mainly the house of close platonic relationships. So yeah, no Stepford wife here.

Astri,
lol, that's  funny because initially I read it that way but there was a lot of interruption here and my adhd, oh my. But after your pointing me right (thank you!),

I agree with my aspects re imperfection. I tried Fibonacci out and it aspects chiron, thus assisting my wabi sabi. I think. No big deal either way.

Adding because I'm not certain I should bump this thread. Astri, I found something out that was interesting re Fibonacci. That ' golden ratio' is lucky in my natal, it Earth trines nearly exact with Tyche. Then it trines 0° with Galatea+ Lumen. As well Hypatia and Iphigenia are cnj by 2m in Tau. Venus is of assistance there. I suppose despite my imperfections luck is in my box of back up tools. Love that Fibonacci rock, thank you for sharing it.

Just noticed that my dad has Wabi-Sabi conjunct South Node and Mercury in Taurus. (House placement is uncertain since I don't have his exact birth time, but probably 3rd, 4th or 5th house.) He is a very private sort of individual, so it's hard to figure out how that conjunction might play out even if he is my dad an I've known him my entire life... Most of the time I have no idea what goes on in his head.

Anyway... here is some speculation based on what I DO know about my dad. My dad thinks generally in practical terms, anything he does or makes is simple and functional above all. So long as something works the looks do not matter to him. In broader terms he is a modest individual, not overly refined, never showing any artifice... So yeah, I guess his innate nature and thinking have a bit of the Wabi-Sabi theme to them.

That’s interesting to see how astrology is so revealing and on point, including the ‘little asteroids’ that some people think is BS, but I don’t see any coincidence here

I have this in Pisces, exactly opposite my eros/pallas conjunction in Virgo. I can attest that I find a lot of beauty in the flaws of people, and am almost upset when they fight against or try and change them. (Myself included, I have never had much hate or problem with flaws in myself, as I see them as what makes me/others unique).

I have a relationship where the principle of Wabi-Sabi is important and, while not highlighted in our synastry, sure enough in our composite wabi-sabi is conjunct our NN.

I checked Fibonacci in my chart out of curiosity and found it conjunct my Venus. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has an interpretation of that.
