I just discovered I have Fortuna conjunct my Pluto, with a 0º orb, pretty tight. Could someone enlighten me with this aspect?

Does it point to luck that comes with transformation? Does it point to obsessing over one's own luck? what does it point to?

It is also conjunct my descendant, 4º orb, but in the 6th house.

Hi Lilypad

quote from Encyclopedia Britannica
Fortuna, in Roman religion,
goddess of chance or lot who became identified with the Greek Tyche;
the original Italian deity was probably regarded as the bearer of prosperity and increase.

As such she resembles a fertility deity,
hence her association with
the bounty of the soil and the fruitfulness of women.

Frequently she was an oracular goddess consulted in various ways regarding the future.

Fortuna was worshiped extensively in Italy from the earliest times.
At Praeneste her shrine was a well-known oracular seat, as was her shrine at Antium.

Fortuna is often represented bearing a cornucopia as
the giver of abundance
and a rudder as controller of destinies,
or standing on a ball to indicate the uncertainty of fortune.

You might also want to read the meaning of Fortuna, in Tarot cards.

ref. Loose extrapolations (R.Hand)..

Pluto Power .. your business partners, marriages, coworkers, employees, doctors/one-on-one relationships/psychiatrists, can be transformational; sometimes full of tensions, power struggles.

Fortuna .. might have a kind of 'Jupiter' effect near your Pluto. Bringing fortune at times, and in other times it changes.

Pluto .. also can represent 'wealth'. Old wealth.
My idealistic romantic side says..
Wouldn't it be ~wild if you were to work a job or have a relationship with someone that it turns out activates your {Good}Fortuna!

Maybe in the 6th/7th, your opportunities could be with or through a doctor, doing/teaching or participating in yoga-instruction and/or fitness based closer to religious concepts, consulting with a lawyer, counselor, etc...

Transformative relationships! Indeed.
Be Fruitful... in all your endeavors,
knowing that from time to time, like tides and ebbs, it rushes in and can also retract and be removed, then all rushes in again.

adaptation is needed..

"I know how to get along with humble means,
.. and I also know how to live in prosperity;
in any and every circumstance --
I have learned 'the secret' of being filled
.. and going hungry,
both
of having abundance
.. and suffering need."

ref. Philippians 4:12 NASB

What age are you? ..
What kind of profession did you decide to get into?
Was Pluto getting ready to 'station' (rx or SD) in your natal chart?

Have you ever heard of musical composer Carl Orff?

Blessings!!

thank you so much mirage! really interesting info about the asteroid.

Can I ask you, what do you mean here?:

"Bringing fortune at times, and in other times it changes."

It changes towards what exactly?

I like what you say about adaptation and known that what is there can leave tomorrow and viceversa.

Im 22 years old and Im currently finishing my degree in Advertising and Public Relations. My natal Pluto isn't retrograde and no, never heard of Carl Orff!

Answer to your question IS that part of the sentence--
"what is there can leave tomorrow and viceversa."

Fascinating that you wish to go into Advertising and Public Relations.
Sending you BEST Wishes for all the Success in the World.

One of the reasons I had asked your age is that I am not sure of how 'sensitive' you are. I was going to leave a certain link to a youtube that had a strong performance of a quite-powerful song about "Fortuna."

The vid was potentially overwhelmingly sense-strong with a kind of dark and foreboding after-effect to its music, words {Latin with English translated on the screen}, and included a quite dramatic piece of charcoal artwork to look at during the song.)

I didn't want to put that 'intense sense-impression' into your Imagination system right now... in case you ARE sense-oriented and sensitive.

All those planets, asteroids, and NM in PISCES coming in a few days... WITH a Mercury-retro in Pisces... whew!!!
Quite strong energies.

I just don't want to overwhelm.
So I'll tell you about it!! *smile*

Carl Orff was a composer. He wrote a very dramatic opera called "Carmina Burana". Within that opera, was a medieval-sounding song set to this 12th Century Benedictine-Monastery Poem. From what I've read, seems it had to do with sexual healing and balance?

Story-----
Long long long time ago, I had my CD player cranked up, listening with my earbuds, TO that opera, Carmina Burana, which I had borrowed from my local library.
..
I guess my roommates could kind of 'hear' it, because parts of the opera are very soft then grows super-loud. They started a rumor that I was listening to devil-music, and therefore had converted my self to 'evil'!!!
NO no no no..... haha.

It was opera.
AND the medieval beats and rhythms and tones are a fantastic tonal feast IF you like that kind of treat.
Not everyone is a fan of cluster-sounds and complex chords.
They were simple-people who had misinterpreted what I listened to as they had not had exposure to formal music-education. What they knew of me was that I was a Christian girl, and based on the sounds, they "assumed" I converted to 'evil'!!, and decided to be afraid of me???
~oh sheesh??? LOL

Actually.. Music and sounds ARE really important. What you drink-in can affect you in a really strong way.

Like in movies, there are certain kinds of horror movies I have to stay away from, because they are too-strong for my senses and linger in a way that is kind of toxic. Same thing with certain music and lyrics (for me). I need exposure to atmospheres that lift and inspire the deep soul.

Some of the things that are out on the market now-- are incredibly violent--

I passed a young person with a boombox the other month, who was "listening" to a song that had OPEN LYRICS round and round (like reciting a mantra). He was actually singing/reciting lyrics that repeated a message tosuicide.
.. It made me GASP.. !!!
Our young people, brainwashing selves, reciting lyrics like a MANTRA, envisioning performing acts of danger and self-harm...
*very very very sad*

So there!!!! haha. …
My intent was to "protect" you.
Some folks 'are' more sensitive--
ESPECIALLY right now.

thank you!!

Oh I am actually pretty sensitive, lol, but you can share it with me, I like discovering new things!

thank you for the story about this composer, had no idea about it

and lol about the story about your roommates )))

I definitely agree with you on music and every other kind of content affecting you in strong ways, specially if one is sensitive. But finding the right kind of music is so nurturing, and it feels like a special bond between you and the song, doesn't it?

Thanks for your reply!
Yes, music has a draw, a bond, and message to communicate. Creates atmospheres.

In my life, music has been like the air I breathe. Liquid kind of language of the soul.

Here's the Fortuna song I mentioned above. It can be 'rather strong' and dark. Maybe since you have a powerful PLUTO-Fortuna you could have an extra special insight?

Many blessings.
(Get your smudge-stick too, just in case!?? rofl)

This one seems to be good fortune with money. I just saw it in the chart of Daryl Hall in a prominent place

Hmm, trine my Sun and opposing Uranus/Neptune in my chart. Sextile Eros/Pallas and inconjunct Juno/BML.

I would say my 'fortune' definitely comes more from my homelife (it's in my 4th) rather than out in the world- I work much harder for what someone might consider 'fortune' out there, but I'm not really seeking it since in some ways I feel I was born quite fortunate.

Money issues ... opposite Uranus/Neptune is waaaay accurate ahahah. Money has often come and gone with a very idealistic (or maybe unrealistic) conception of it. Good thing opps tend to work well when balanced!
