My ex took a Greek mythology class in college and told me that Icarus was the son of Daedelus, the creator of the confusing and complicated maze-like structure known as the Labyrinth. Icarus and Daedelus wanted to escape the island of Crete and wanted to do so using homemade wings that Daedelus created himself out of wax and feathers. Daedelus warns his son not to fly too close to the sun because the sun would melt the wax on the wings and Icarus would fall from the sky to his death. Icarus ignores his dad's warning and of course flies too close to the sun allowing the heat to melt the wax on his wings and then allowing poor Icarus to tumble out of the sky and into the ocean where he drowns. The idiom of "don't fly too close to the sun" comes from Icarus.

With all that said, could one say that astrologically this asteroid could have something to do with planes, flying and possibly even plane crashes? Mine is in my 8th house (gulp) in the AIR sign of Aquarius in a somewhat wide 5-degree orb conjunction to Aquarius' traditional ruler Saturn also in my 8th in Aquarius (double gulp).

Could be lots of things but if you think of that one in particular, have you checked yet where your part of death is?

Oh wait I rechecked just now. It's actually at 11 Pisces 56 sitting in my 9th house not conjunct anything but in a very tight 1-degree trine to my 12 Cancer ascendant.

ok, so perhaps that's a good thing your POD is not in the same house.

BTW you could also check these asteroids: Lilium (has something to do with aircrafts if u google it)
Phaeton (car crashes and accidents.)
Bellerophon (fatal crashes)

Icarus apart from litteral accidents can also mean excessive risk, gambles that don’t pay off, moving too fast, driving too fast, games of speed/risk..
