I was reading different things on this asteroid and Im not sure what it means... some people claim that this asteroid can indicate if a woman is gay? Is this true? I thought you cant tell a person sexual orientation through astrology?
I have it conjunct my eros and ascendent. What does that mean?
What does the asteroid really indicate?
Sorry so maby questions lol but I can’t seem to fibd nuch info on this asteroid.
Quite honestly I don’t know how asteroids really affect us because for a lot of the descriptions of asteroids I don’t really agree with. Plus there’s so many of them it they get confusing!

I know this is the wrong forum for this but I do have some input! (For the record, this should be in Asteroid Astrology, not Astrology 2.0).

Sappho in the chart has more to do with sapphic energy. Very feminine-loving, expressing the emotional, receptive and creative energy, a sensual vibe. It's highly creative and can often be seen in regards to muse-like or creative people.

This goes in Asteroid Astrology. Moving it there.

I found another source for information on Sappho that I've enjoyed!

https://www.truthinaspectastrology.com/articles/asteroid-sappho

I forgot how curious I am about this asteroid as well; it's directly opposite my Sun/Venus, and also Retrograde in my own chart. In Taurus/2nd house. Here, Jewel talks about it's meaning.

quote:
In a birth chart, Sappho represents artisitic aptitude, especially where words are concerned. The act of displaying one's true sexual character is an element of Sappho, the right to do as one sensually pleases. Poetry, access to one's feminine side, Libido, and how we connect words with sensuality are what this asteroid is about.

Displaying one's true sexual character or do as one sensually pleases was always felt as an opposition to who I am in some ways- which makes sense given it's opposition to my Sun/Venus!

EDIT: Found it also opposes my Pluto, squares Jupiter and trines Uranus/Neptune. What an influence, dang.

Wow that’s a lot of aspects you have there 😮
Ive read somewhere that most astrologers don’t consider a connection with asteroids unless it is at least a 2 degree orb. Is that true? If that’s the case then I might now have any aspects there because it conjuncts my eros and rising but about 4 and 5 degrees.

Erotic in a literary way like a D H Lawrence book or a very smart woman who is sexy.

I usually count asteroid orbs to about 4-5 degrees. Further than that and it's usually very faint (unless you've grown up with someone in your family who conjuncts it, then it can be more prominent in your relationship/life).

The orbs for my aspects are all within 2 degrees (save for Uranus, which is 5+ but more highlighted due to the conjunction with Neptune).

SoulOfABird.. When I saw this thread in Astrology forum, I knew it would get moved here to Asteroids.

I have materials to add here for you.
Can't get to it today..
Hope maybe in the next few days, or next week.

Good to see you back and posting, by the way.
